Researchers in Korea and elsewhere have carried out a wide variety of important research activities in their respective fields, producing valuable research results. For such diverse research results to be shared and exchanged among researchers working in the same discipline and research subject there needs to be a community environment based on free utilization of information. Against this backdrop, this study seeks to classify and reprocess the reference/factual content owned by the KISTI (Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information), a state-run distributor of information on science and technology, by the different research subjects. It also seeks to develop and provide a community model based on the concepts of open archiving and open access for the researchers specialized in the related fields of research. This community model is developed focusing on the research results from the field of bioscience, where the most extensive studies are currently being conducted. To develop the community model, this study: (a) surveys the current status of the content owned by KISTI; (b) analyzes the patterns and characteristics of biological scientific content among the KISTI-owned content; and (c) designs a web platform where researchers can freely upload/download research results.
The optimum annealing conditions of corn starch slurry were studied for RS4 type resistant starch production by phosphorylated cross-linking. When a corn starch slurry was cross-linked by using phosphate salts (STMP/STPP mixture) in the presence of 0.9%, 1.2% and 1.5% NaOH/st.ds, a high concentration of NaOH resulted in a rapid increase of the RS contents at the early reaction stage. However, similar RS contents were obtained after 12 h of cross-linking regardless of NaOH concentrations. The annealing treatment was conducted under various conditions such as pH between 2-10, temperature $40-60^{\circ}C$, time 0-14 h followed by phosphorylated cross-linking. The lower slurry pH was for the annealing treatment, the higher RS contents were obtained after cross-linking. When the slurry annealed for various period of time and temperature, a maximal amount of RS was formed after 2 h of annealing at $50^{\circ}C$ of annealing temperature of the starch slurry (pH 2.0). Therefore, an optimal annealing conditions at pH 2.0 and $50^{\circ}C$ for 2 h were proposed under the cross-linking conditions of sodium sulfate 10%/st.ds, NaOH 1.2%/st.ds and 12 h of the reaction time. The RS contents were linearly increased with the increase of phosphate salt addition. The RS4 prepared under the optimal conditions contained RS 72.3% and its phosphorus content was 0.36%/st.ds, which was below the limit (0.4%/st.ds) of modified starch by Korea Food Additives Code.
Chitosan is normally acylated and subsequently conjugated with drugs for biomedical applications. This study examined the relationship between the succinylation and gelation behaviors of glycol chitosan. Glycol chitosan was acylated with succinic anhydride under a wide variety of reaction conditions, such as different molar ratios of succinic anhydride to glucosamine, different methanol content in the reaction media, and different reaction temperatures. Among these reaction parameters, the methanol content in the solvent played an important role in determining the regioseletive succinylating site. N-succinylation and N-N cross-linking occurred regardless of the reaction conditions. However, O-succinylation was observed under specific conditions, i.e. a methanol content> 0.6 (v/v) and a reaction temperature> $25^{\circ}C$. O-succinylation accelerated the N-O cross-linking of glycol chitosan, and led to gelation. The N-succinylated glycol chitosans were water-soluble, whereas the N-and O-succinylated glycol chitosans fonned a gel. These physico-chemical structural differences in the succinylated glycol chitosans would definitely influence subsequent drug-conjugation reactions and consequently the drug loading and release kinetics.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the sequence of software education content elements of the 2015 revised national curriculum in terms of basic subjects that preliminary informatics teachers should complete in the college, presented in ministry of education notification no. 2017-126, in order to implement and establish more systematic and interrelated software education. Expert reviews were conducted to verify the validity of the sequence analysis and the results were presented in a structured table, which can be used as a reference for teachers in the field to consider the sequence of educational content when designing curricula and lessons. In addition, learning concepts, which are the key words of the achievement criteria associated with the content elements, are analyzed in order to explore the hierarchy of software education contents in each sequence. Based on this, the study suggests how to link software education between school levels.

Background: Glutaraldehyde (GA) is a widely used cross-linking agent for improving mechanical properties and resistance to enzymatic degradation of collagenous tissue, but it has several drawbacks such as calcification and cytotoxicity. The aim of this study was to find the alternative effective cross-linking methods to GA. Materials and Methods: Bovine pericardium was processed with GA with ethanol+octanol and glycine detoxification, and polyethylene glycol (PG) space filler, dimethyl 3,3'-dithiobispropionimidate (DTBP), 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl) carbodiimide (EDC) treatment, and the physical fixation of ultraviolet irradiation were done. The biologic material properties of variously treated pericardial tissues were assessed by biochemical, mechanical and histological tests. Treated pericardial tissues were also implanted subcutaneously or intramuscularly into the rabbit for 10 weeks to assess the xenoreactive antibody response of immunoglobulin G and M, their anti-calcification effect. Results: The biochemical and mechanical properties of EDC fixed pericardial tissues were comparable to the GA fixed tissue. The cytotoxicity was lowest in space filler treated GA fixed group. In rabbit subcutaneous or intramuscular implantation models, decellularization, space filler, EDC treatment group showed significantly lower calcium content than GA only and DTBP treatment group (p<0.05, analysis of variance). The titer of anti $Gal{\alpha}1-3Gal{\beta}1$-4GlcNAc-R antibodies did not change in the postimplantation serial enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Hematoxylin and eosin and von Kossa staining showed that decellularization, space filler, EDC, and ultraviolet treatment had less inflammatory cell infiltration and calcium deposits. Conclusion: The decellularization process, PG filler, and EDC treatments are good alternative cross-linking methods compared to GA only fixation and primary amine of DTBP treatment for cardiovascular xenograft preservation in terms of the collagen cross-linking stability and in vivo anti-calcification effects.
An improvement of a mobile game content production and a service technology are bringing an explosive increase of a mobile game market. Currently serviced mobile games are using a WAP method and a download method. Because of technical problems, we couldn't develop the mobile game content which sequentially linked WAP->download and download->WAP. In this study, we design and develop the mobile game content which sequentially linked WAP->download and download->WAP. In the proposed method, we can linked the stage and the ranking information as sharing a data on real time that it is impossible in the previous mobile game content.
Gelidium corneum films were prepared using cinnamaldehyde as a cross-linking agent and their physical properties were determined. Tensile strength (TS) value of the film containing 0.01% cinnamaldehyde was higher than the control by 8.31 MPa. However, increasing cinnamaldehyde from 0.01% to 0.1% significantly decreased TS from 9.54 MPa to 0.03 MPa, and no film was formed at 1% cinnamaldehyde. On the contrary, when cinnamaldehyde content was increased from 0.01% to 0.1%, % elongation was increased from 1.44% to 2.75%. Water vapor permeability (WVP) of the film containing 0% and 0.01% cinnamaldehyde were 1.64 ng m/m$^2$sPa and 1.42 ng m/m$^2$sPa, respectively. There was no significant difference in Hunter values among treatments. Scanning electron microscopy results revealed that both cinnamaldehyde and control films had similar surfaces. These results suggest that 1.5% Gelidium corneum treated with 0.01% cinnamaldehyde should be the most suitable condition for film formation.
Polyurethane elastomers (PUEs) were synthesized using trans-1,4-bis(isocyanatomethyl) cyclohexane (1,4-H6XDI), poly(oxytetramethylene) glycol, 1,4-butanediol (BD), and 1,1,1-trimethylol propane (TMP). To control the molecular aggregation state and mechanical properties of these PUEs, hard segment contents of 20 and 30 wt% and BD/TMP ratios of 10/0 and 8/2 were chosen. Differential scanning calorimetry and small-angle X-ray scattering measurements revealed that the degree of microphase separation increased with an increase in both hard segment content and BD ratio. The Young's modulus and strain at break of the 1,4-H6XDI-based PUE were 6-20 MPa and 5-15, respectively. Incorporation of 20% TMP as a cross-linking agent into BD increased the melting temperature of the hard segment chains, that is, heat resistance, and decreased the Young's modulus. This could be due to the low density of the physical cross-linking network and the dispersion of hard segment chains in the soft segment matrix in the PUE in the presence of 20% TMP.
The ethanolic extracts of 83 kinds of agricultural products, including cereals, vegetables, and Chinese herbs, were tested for their inhibitory activities on protein cross-linking using the $[^{14}C]$-N-formyl-lysine incorporation method. Most of the extracts inhibited, but some extracts accelerated, the cross-linking of protein. Of those items with relatively high activities, we selected 20 samples to test for activity against AGE fonnation using the fluorophotometric method. The ethanol extract of buckwheat that was genninated for 1 day (GB-01) was detennined to have the highest activity with both methods. The ethanol extract of GB-01 was further fractionated by organic solvents, including chloroform, ethyl acetate, butanol, and water, in order of increasing polarity. The fraction that was extracted with ethyl acetate presented the highest protein glycation inhibitory activity (95.2% inhibition at the 100 ug/mL addition level). Polyphenol content analysis by HPLC showed that the amounts of rutin and quercetin were increased with the separation procedures. Finally, there was a significant relationship between activity and polyphenol content in the partially purified samples (p<0.05).
