  • The Android container is used for various purposes such as Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) solution and Android malware analysis. The strong point of android container than other technologies is it can simulate an android device like a real android phone on a hardware layer. Therefore, automatic management solutions for android container are necessary. This paper introduces a new design of cloud-based management solution for android containers. Through the proposal, android containers are managed automatically from a cloud platform - OpenStack with various tasks like: container configuration, deployment, destroy, android version, hardware device. In addition, the system monitoring and system statistics for android containers and hardware devices are also provided.

  • Intra-block remarshalling is the task of rearranging into some target bays those containers which are scattered around within the block, so that the containers can be loaded onto the ship efficiently. However, if we rearrange the containers without considering the container loading sequence, excessive rehandling work will be required at the time of loading because the containers to be fetched are often stacked under other containers. Therefore, the remarshalling should be done by moving the relevant containers in an appropriate order. This paper presents an efficient heuristic search technique for finding an appropriate container moving order during remarshalling to avoid rehandling at the time of loading. Simulation experiments have shown that the proposed method can generate rehandling-free solutions in real time.

  • Radioactive waste container designs should comply with the requirements for safety (i.e., transportation, storage, disposal) and other criteria such as economics and technology. These criteria are also applicable to the future management of the large amount of LLW and VLLW to arise from decontamination and decommissioning (D&D) of nuclear power plants, which have different features compared to that of wastes from operation and maintenance (O&M). This paper proposes to develop a set of standard containers of multi-purpose usage for transportation, storage and disposal. The concepts of the containers were optimized for management of D&D wastes in consideration of national system for radioactive waste management, in particular the Gyeongju Repository and associated infrastructures. A set of prototype containers were designed and built : a soft bag for VLLW, two metallic containers for VLLW/LLW (a standard IP2 container for sea transport and ISO container for road transport). Safety analyses by simulation and tests of these designs show they are in compliance with the regulatory requirements. A further development of a container with concrete is foreseen for 2016.

  • The effects of airtight containers and zipper bags on the freshness extension of pine nuts (Pinus koraiensis) were studied at 4 and $25^{\circ}C$. Changes in total microbial growth, 2-thiobarbituric acid(TBA), color, and sensory quality were evaluated during storage. Total bacterial counts of the samples continuously increased over 28 days for airtight containers and 56 days for zipper bags, and then decreased at 70 days because the lack of air could affect the inhibition of the aerobic microbial growth. However no significant differences were observed between airtight containers and zipper bags. TBA values continuously increased with storage time, but there were no significant differences between the airtight containers and zipper bags during storage. Color changes and sensory evaluation analyses showed that the data revealed similar results for both packaging systems over the storage time. Therefore, it has been concluded that airtight containers and zipper bags could be used as a good packaging system to extend the shelf life of pine nuts by controlling the microbial growth, but the packaging systems of the airtight containers and the zipper bags was not significantly affect the quality parameters for 2-thiobarbituric acid(TBA), color, and sensory quality.

  • A study on consecutive changes of milk was carried out to determine the changes of milk components and microorganisms by different containers. The containers included in this study were glass bottles, polyethylene packs, polystyrene bottles and aluminum foils. The number of total microorganisms and coliforms, contents of milk fat and vitamin A were tested. The results obtained were as follows: 1) The number of total microorganisms exceeded the legal criteria within 2-3 days at 4$\circ$C, 24 hours at room temperature (20-23$\circ$C) and 3 hours at 35$\circ$C. 2) The number of coliforms in milk contained in glass bottles exceeded the legal criteria within 3 days at 4$\circ$C, that of glass bottles and polyethylene packs within 12 hours at room temperature (20-23$\circ$C), that of polyethylene packs and polystyrene bottles within 6 hours at 35$\circ$C, and that of glass bottles within 9 hours at 35$\circ$C respectively. 3) The milk fat contents by di'fferent containers were not changed at all. 4) Vitamin A contents were reduced by a slight exposure to sunlight. The destruction rates of all containers were the highest in an hour after exposure to sunlight. The rates by different containers were 50.1% in glass bottles, 47.6% in polyethylene packs, 30.4% in polystyrene bottles in an hour after exposure respectively. After an hour exposure, the destruction rates gradually decreased. The vitamin A destruction rate of glass bottles were the highest, and that of polyethylene packs were next, and that of polystyrene bottles were the lowest 5) The changes of pH of milk were high in the following order: the milk in glass bottles, polyethylene packs, and polystyrene bottles. pH of milk in aluminum foils were not changed.

  • Objective: The hypothesis was that apparent ileal digestibility (AID), basal endogenous losses, and standardized ileal digestibility (SID) of amino acids (AA) are not affected by adding acid to collection containers or bags used to collect ileal digesta from pigs. Methods: Twenty-four growing barrows (initial body weight: 77.8±4.5 kg) that were fitted with a T-cannula in the distal ileum were fed diets for three 7-d periods. An N-free diet and 3 diets containing corn, soybean meal, or wheat middlings as the sole source of AA were used. Within each period, each of the 4 diets were fed to 6 pigs. Among the 6 pigs, digesta from 3 pigs were collected in bags containing no HCl, whereas 40 mL of 3 N HCl was included in the bags used to collect digesta from the remaining 3 pigs. Every other bag collected from each pig was emptied into a container without adding HCl, whereas the remaining bags were added to a container along with 40 mL of 3 N HCl for each bag. All digesta were stored at -20℃ immediately after collection. Data were analyzed using a model that included feed ingredient, HCl in bags, HCl in containers, and all 2-way and 3-way interactions as fixed effects. No 3-way interactions were significant, and data were, therefore, reanalyzed independently for each diet as a 2×2 factorial. Results: There were no interactions between adding HCl to collection bags and to containers, and no effects of adding HCl to collection bags or containers for AID, basal endogenous losses, or SID of most AA were observed. Conclusion: It is not necessary to add acid to digesta collection bags or collection containers if ileal digesta are stored at -20℃ immediately after collection.

  • In a container-based cloud environment, multiple containers can share a graphical processing unit (GPU), and GPU sharing can minimize idle time of GPU resources and improve resource utilization. However, in a cloud environment, GPUs, unlike CPU or memory, cannot logically multiplex computing resources to provide users with some of the resources in an isolated form. In addition, containers occupy GPU resources only when performing GPU operations, and resource usage is also unknown because the timing or size of each container's GPU operations is not known in advance. Containers unrestricted use of GPU resources at any given point in time makes managing resource contention very difficult owing to where multiple containers run GPU tasks simultaneously, and GPU tasks are handled in black box form inside the GPU. In this paper, we propose a container management technique to prevent performance degradation caused by resource competition when multiple containers execute GPU tasks simultaneously. Also, this paper demonstrates the efficiency of container management techniques that analyze and propose the problem of degradation due to resource competition when multiple containers execute GPU tasks simultaneously through experiments.

  • In the field of ammunition, storage performance is recognized as important, and the moisture-proof performance of packaging containers is very important. In the ammunition field, paper cans with a multi-layered structure are mainly used as packaging containers. It is made by layering materials that play various roles. These packaging containers are mainly evaluated for moisture-proof performance according to the Korean Industrial Standard KS T 1314. The moisture permeability is determined through linear regression analysis of the change in weight of the moisture absorbent added inside. In this study, the effect of the amount of desiccant added on the moisture permeability test results of packaging containers was confirmed. It is considered appropriate that the amount of desiccant used in testing ammunition packaging containers be approximately 70% or more of the internal volume.

  • Purpose: This study was performed to investigate the actual state about ultrasonic cleaning of soft contact lenses in local optical shops and evaluate the removal effect of protein deposit on soft contact lenses with different lens containers by ultrasonic cleaner for eyeglasses. Methods: The actual state about ultrasonic cleaning of soft contact lenses was surveyed in total 75 local optical shops in Seoul, Korea. The cleaning efficacy of different lens containers was compared by measuring the protein remained on ocufilcon D contact lenses after washing by an ultrasonic cleaner for eyeglasses. The changes on surfaces and wetting angles of ocufilcon D contact lenses by repeat ultrasonication were further investigated. Results: The main purpose to use ultrasonic cleaners in local optical shops was rapid cleaning. The ultrasonic cleaning efficacy of ocufilcon D contact lenses with glass containers was little higher than it with plastic containers, but was not significantly different. The changes on surfaces and wetting angles of ocufilcon D contact lenses in a plastic lens container by repeat ultrasonication such as 30 and/or 60 times were shown. Conclusions: There was not significant difference in cleaning efficacy between glass and plastic lens containers. However, repeat cleaning with ultrasonic cleaner for eyeglasses would be carefully considered since some significant changes in the parameters of lens surface and wetting angles were detected by repeat ultrasonification even when lens containers were used for ocufilcon D contact lens during ultrasonictions.

  • In order to reduce the number of rehandles during the loading operation of export containers in port container terminals, the storage location of each arriving container should be determined considering of its weight. We formulate the problem by a dynamic programming model to get the optimal storage location.
