We enhanced the conductivity of PEDOT-PSS by mixing with glycerol and fabricated the low contact resistance of source and drain[S/D] electrodes of OTFT with PEDOT-PSS by ink-jetting printing. The contact resistance was much smaller by seven times than Au with $200k{\Omega}$ at $V_G=-5V$. For the bottom contacted OTFTs, the performance was comparable to OTFTs with Au electrodes with the field effect mobility of $0.2\;cm^2/V s$.

In this paper, we present a fabrication method of functionalized gold nanostructures on flexible substrate that can be implemented for plasmonic sensing application. For biomolecular sensing, many researchers exploit unconventional lithography method like nanoimprint lithography (NIP), contact transfer lithography, soft lithography, colloidal transfer printing due to its usability and easy to functionalization. In particular, nanoimprint and contact transfer lithography need to have anti-adhesion layer for distinctive metallic properties on the flexible substrates. However, when metallic thin film was deposited on the anti-adhesion layer coated substrates, we discover much aggravation of the mold by repetitive use. Thus it would be impossible to get a high quality of metal nanostructure on the transferred substrate for developing flexible electronics based transfer printing. Here we demonstrate a method for nano-pillar mold and transfer the controllable nanoparticle array on the flexible substrates without an anti-adhesion layer. Also functionalization of gold was investigated by the different length of thiol applied for effectively localized surface plasmonic resonance sensing. First, a focused ion beam (FIB) and ICP-RIE are used to fabricate the nanoscale pillar array. Then gold metal layer is deposited onto the patterned nanostructure. The metallic 130 nm and 250 nm nanodisk pattern are transferred onto flexible polymer substrate by bi-layer functionalized contact imprinting which can be tunable surface energy interfaces. Different thiol reagents such as Thioglycolic acid (98%), 3-Mercaptopropionic acid (99%), 11-Mercaptoundecanoic acid (95%) and 16-Mercaptohexadecanoic acid (90%) are used. Overcoming the repeatedly usage of the anti-adhesion layer mold which has less uniformity and not washable interface, contact printing method using bi-layer gold array are not only expedient access to fabrication but also have distinctive properties including anti-adhesion layer free, functionalized bottom of the gold nano disk, repeatedly replicate the pattern on the flexible substrate. As a result we demonstrate the feasibility of flexible plasmonic sensing interface and anticipate that the method can be extended to variable application including the portable bio sensor via mass production of stable nanostructure array and other nanophotonic application.

This paper is related to a roll-type micro-contact printing process. The proper parameters such as coating velocity, inking velocity, printing velocity and printing pressure as well as Ag contents of Ag ink were extracted to perform the fine patterning of Ag electrodes. Additionally we developed a process for PDMS with high uniform thickness. Finally, we obtained the Ag fine electrodes on $4.5cm\;{\times}\;4.5cm$ plastic substrate with the line width of 10 um, thickness less than 300 nm, surface roughness less than 40 nm, and the specific resistance of $2.08\;{\times}\;10^{-5}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$.
We have fabricated inverted staggered pentacene Thin Film Transistor (TFT) with 1-${\mu}m$ channel length by micro contact printing (${\mu}$-CP) method. Patterning of micro-scale source/drain electrodes without etching was successfully achieved using silver nano particle ink, Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) stamp and FC-150 flip chip aligner-bonder. Sheet resistance of the printed Ag nano particle films were effectively reduced by two step annealing at $180^{\circ}C$.

In this paper, PVA(polyvinylalcohol), oxidized starch and SBR latex were used as binders for ink-jet printing papers, and their effects of the type and blending ratio of binders on ink-jet printing properties were compared. In case of coating color using PVA mainly used for a binder in ink-jet printing, spreading of printed letters decreased and excellent images were manifested resulting from strong hydrophilic of PVA. However, increasing solids content of coating color was somewhat limited because of the interaction of PVA and functional groups in silica as well as high molecular weight of PVA. When oxidized starch and SBR latex were mixed with PVA at desirable ratio to solve these problems, runnability in coating process was improved and good printing properties were shown. Gloss was improved when latex was used along with PVA as a binder because of the thermoplastic property of the latex. From this result, possibilities of high solids content and high gloss ink-jet printing papers were investigated.

Most of printing paper market today have been occupied by western paper and some machine-made Hanji used don't show the characteristic advantages for traditional hand-made Hanji. Although hand-made Hanji has an aesthetic and qualitative value, it has limited uses because of poor printability as printing paper. Unlike western paper, conventional Hanji cannot be used as Printing paper because it is impossible to make the clear formation of printed dot and to develop a high level of sizing and picking problem occurs during printing. Improvements of physical and optical properties such as roughness, smoothness, air permeability, contact angle, opacity, and paper gloss as well as sizing level were accomplished through internal and surface sizing and calendering, which made the paper better suited for printing and decreased problems during printing.
In this paper, we report electrical properties of OTFTs by using ink-jet printing with polyvinylphenol (PVP) for gate insulator and bis(triisopropylsilylenthynyl) pentacene (TIPS pentacene) for semiconductor. OTFTs produced the excellent performance with the mobility of $1.27\;cm^2/V.s$ for top contact structure(TCS) and inverter consisting of two OTFTs exhibited the gain of 6.75.
Zinc tin oxide (ZTO) sol-gel solution was synthesized for ink-jet printable semiconducting ink. Bottom-contact type TFT was produced by printing the ZTO layer between the source and drain electrodes. The transistor involving the ink-jet printed ZTO had the $mobility\;{\sim}\;0.01\;cm^2V^{-1}s^{-1}$. We demonstrated the direct-writing of semiconducting oxide for solution processed TFT fabrication.
We have investigated the effectiveness of a gravure printing method for the fabrication of organic light-emitting diode (OLED) and Organic Thin Film Transistor (OTFT). Printing of the organic layers was performed with a small-scale gravure coating machine, while the metallic layers were vacuum-evaporated. Devices with gravure-printed layers are at least comparable with the spin-coated devices. Effects of the solvent formulation and surface energy mismatch between the organic layer materials on the printed patterns and device performance were discussed. We will present the initial design and experimental data of OTFT fabricated by roll-type soft contact transfer process.
This study has successfully demonstrated the direct fabrication of polymer resistors using ink-jet printing technology as an alternative patterning to traditional photolithography. The polymer resistors were fabricated just by two layer processes using a ink-jet printer (DMP-2800, Fujifilm Dimatix). First, resistive materials was patterned by a ink-jet printing with the desired width and length. Next, resistor fabrication was completed by printing metal contact pads on the both sides of the polymer resistor. We used poly (3,4-ethylene dioxythiophene) poly(styrenesulfonate)(PEDOT:PSS) for the resistor material and a nano-sized silver colloid for the metal contact pads. We characterized the electrical properties of PEDOT:PSS by measuring sheet resistance and specific resistance on a glass substrate. From analysis of the measured resistances, the electrical resistances of the polymer resistors linearly increased as a function of printed width and length of resistors. The accuracy of the fabricated polymer resistor showed about $0.6{\sim}2.5%$ error for the same dimensions.
