  • For many years, engineers in the field of acoustics have used the A-weighted sound pressure level (SPL). Since they were interested just in a reduction of noise, the A-weighted SPL was considered good enough to quantify noise problems. This is reasonable because loudness is usually the most important parameter for most noise problems and A-weighted SPL is often reasonably well correlated with loudness. As the overall noise levels drop, however, other parameters become more important and must be considered, Advent of sound quality came from an understanding that A-weighted SPL only reflects the loudness of a sound. It is obviously impossible to characterize a complex sound with a single number. Although product mostly has revealed physical quantities created by the standpoint of engineers, consumers perceive and evaluate products on the non-physical characteristics, such as feelings, emotions, and experiences in different social and cultural situations. Especially, for the household appliances for instance air-conditioner or refrigerator, the sound is heavily related to the satisfaction of a customer who is a real user of the product and is very important factor to decide purchasing as well as visual design. Therefore, in this research, the general tendency of consumer's psychology was investigated for the appliances. And also, in order to obtain clear guidelines fur sound manipulation, the characteristics of the sound of air-conditioning systems and refrigerators were compared with competitors'. since it is important to overcome the discrepancy between engineering and marketing, the relevance of sound manipulation must be documented from the consumer's perspective. That is the reason why we conducted a consumer and marketing oriented study.

The main results of this study are as follows: First, Chi-square test showed that chronic patients used expert information sources and experiential information sources more than those without chronic diseases. Second, chronic patients were found to search nutrition management, exercise management, and patient case. Lastly, in the case of hospital-related searches, patients with chronic diseases searched more waiting time and medical expenses than those without chronic diseases. The data were analyzed by ANOVA, Regression analysis, and MDS. The results of practical study are summarized as follows. Fashion sensibility on the preference in Good and Bad women's town wear is closely related in 'want to buy-do not want to buy' and buying need is 'like-dislike'. For the fashion sensibility dimension at Good women's town wear, X axis showed from Young to Adult and Y axis showed from Hard to Comfortable following positioned design characters. • Purpose - In the major global markets, such as US and China, consumer ethnocentrism has been strengtened and there is a growing need for related study. This research aims to investigate the effects of national pride and national attachment on consumer ethnocentrism, using a nationally representative dataset from 2013 Korean General Social Survey. Based on the reviews of literature in social and political sciences, two dimensions of national pride were considered: national society pride which is based on positive evaluations on the nation's democracy condition or social security system, and national achievement pride which is based on positive evaluations regarding the country's achievements in the areas of technology, art, sports, and so on. Research design, data, and methodology - The authors developed a structural model in which two types of national pride, national society and achievement pride, are proposed to affect national attachment, thus influencing consumer ethnocentrism. 1,294 surveys were used for empirical analysis. The hypotheses were tested by utilizing SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 21.0. The unidimensionality of each construct and the nomological validity were supported from the results of factor analyses and correlation analysis. Results - It was found that both national society pride and national achievement pride have significant and positive effects on national attachment. Consumers who show stronger pride on the social systems or the global achievements of Korea are more likely to remain being a citizen of the country and support the country even in wrong. Also, there was a significant and positive relationship between national attachment and consumer ethnocentrism. Korean consumers who have stronger attachment to Korea tend to express higher ethnocentrism to protect Korean labor market and to promote economic development of the country. Conclusions - The findings of this study showed that companies and government need to emphasize the country's advanced social environments or global competitiveness in technology, sports, art, and so on, to boost national attachment. With a deeper understanding on the relationships among national pride, national attachment, and consumer ethnocentrism, the authors expect that both local and foreign companies in Korea will be able to develop more effective marketing strategies and to achieve sustainable competitive advantage.

  • Purpose: Social Network Sites(SNS) have been grown up as a public communication channel consumer frequently participate in. Most of food service brands are utilizing social media for advertising recently. As a result of SNS marketing, food service brands anticipate positive outputs from SNS engagement and consumer brand engagement so that we need to verify structural relationship among SNS characteristics, SNS engagement and consumer brand engagement. Research design, data, and methodology: This study identifies that SNS characteristics have effects on SNS engagement and examines relationship between SNS engagement and behavioral engagement. We conceptualize SNS characteristics as information quality, hedonic level and interaction. Furthermore, SNS engagement is composed of SNS participation, positive word of mouth(WOM). In order to verify the purposes of this research, research model and hypotheses were developed. All constructs were measured with multiple items developed and tested in the previous studies. Sample data were collected from 433 online survey panels and analyzed by using SmartPLS 3.2.9. Result: The findings of this research are as follows. First, information quality is positively related with SNS participation. Hedonic level and interaction have impacts on SNS participation and positive WOM respectively. Second, SNS participation has positive effects on positive WOM. Third, both SNS participation and WOM influence behavioral engagement respectively. Conclusions: The implications demonstrate that SNS characteristics such as information quality and hedonic level and interaction exert effects for consumer to participate in SNS brand page. Meanwhile, hedonic level and interaction influence on positive WOM but information quality doesn't. SNS participation and positive WOM affect consumer to engage in specific brand behaviorally as well. Therefore, food service brand marketer is required to manage SNS information quality and hedonic level and interaction among members to encourage SNS participation and positive WOM. As SNS participation and positive WOM increases behavioral engagement of consumer, marketer needs to incentivize SNS participation and look after situation of positive WOM and respond swiftly.

  • This study analyzed the willingness to pay for meal kit products of Millefeuille Nabe and Gambas al-Ahiyo, and willingness to pay and purchase intentions according to various characteristics to suggest a meal kit marketing strategy that reflected consumer preference. It was found that the price of meal kits is higher than the price of individual ingredients and lower than the price of meal kits in the current market. The willingness to pay for Millefeuille Nabe is higher in the group that pursues quality and taste, and the more satisfied with the certification system, the higher their willingness to pay for both Millefeuille Nabe and Gambas al-Ahiyo. In addition, the higher the satisfaction with the pleasure, taste, and price of the meal kit, the higher the intention to purchase in the future. Therefore, to increase the willingness to pay and purchases intentions in the future, the quality of meal kit ingredients must be carefully revised and supplemented, and various products are developed and reflected in the marketing strategy.

  • People who are satisfied with tour sites will revisit those and recommend those to other people to visit. As a result, those tour sites will attract more tourists. The introduction of consumer satisfaction concept into tourism management is very critical for Kangwon province since tourism industry plays an important role compared with other industries. We investigate tour motives and influential factors in the tourist choice process theoretically and empirically. Empirical results show that "the importance of influence factors varies with tour motives," "the impact of tour-related factors on tourist satisfaction also different across tour motives," "tour motive itself is an important contributor to tour satisfaction." Therefore, this research develops a theoretical framework to understand the underlying motives, factors, satisfaction and discuss the results.

The limitations of this study are as follows. First, the subjects were selected who live in Gangwon-do with the age of 60 and over due to the limitation of sampling, and that might be shown local characteristics. Therefore, the study result could not be generalized on behalf of all elderly in Korea and it is difficult to apply the result to more segmented market. To solve this problem, studies containing sampling by regional groups might be needed.
