  • The purpose of this paper is to verify and validate the maintenance tasks of the construction of a nuclear facility using a digital mock-up and simulation technology instead of a physical mock-up. Prior to the construction of a nuclear facility, a remote simulator that provides the opportunity to produce a complete digital mock-up of the PRIDE (Pyroprocess Integrated Inactive DEmonstration Facility) region and its remote handling equipment, including operations and maintenance procedures has been developed. In this paper, the system architecture and graphic user interface of a remote simulator that coincides with the extraordinary nature of a nuclear fuel cycle facility is introduced. In order to analyze the remote accessibility of a remote manipulator, virtual prototyping that was performed it by using haptic device of external input devices under a 3D full-scale digital mock-up is explained.

  • Traditionally, the facility inspection was visually conducted by the managers, and consequently the result can be subjective because of different perspective and experience of them. To solve this problem, the studies on this topic has tried to integrate the UAS. However, it is still concerned to use in practice due to the lack of analysis of the performance factors affecting the UAS-based facility condition inspection. Hence, the purpose of this study is to identify the critical factors as well as their correlations by modeling causal loop diagram (CLD). A total of 20 variables were derived in four categorized groups, and the relationships were analyzed. Further study will develop a system dynamics (SD) model to simulate various scenarios based on stock-flow diagram through the defined relationships in this study.

  • Information on the energy consumption of buildings that can be obtained through conventional methods is limited. Therefore, this study aims to develop a model that can support decision making about building facility management through digital transformation technologies. Through the IoT sensor, the building's energy data and indoor air quality data are collected, and the monitored data is visualized through the ELK Stack and produced as a dashboard. In addition, the target building is photographed with a 360-degree camera and maps using a tool to create a 360-degree tour. Using such digital transformation technologies, users of buildings can obtain various information in real time without visiting buildings directly. This can lead to changes in actions or actions for building management, supporting facility management decisions, and consequently reducing building energy consumption.

  • Recently, construction industry has an interest on the maintenance area of construction facilities to maximize utilization of the each facility. This study suggests an interactive electronic technical manual for bridge facility to improve quality and to ensure safety of the bridge facility. The improvement method of bridge maintenance system consists of the basic information ell the facilities, maintenance manuals and measurement system. And the suggested system is based on the facilities, maintenance manuals and measurement system. And the suggested system is based on IETM (Interactive Electronic Technical Manual), and this study defines and develops a $BF\_IETM (Bridge Facility\_ITEM$ as the bridge maintenance system.

  • In Korean domestic construction industry, they tend to emphasize completion of structures, but on the other hand to neglect structure maintenance, before mid nineteen-nineties when consecutive structure collapse accidents arisen. Presently, facility monitoring systems are restrictively applying to large size facilities with wired method, and there are some limitations to apply these systems to small and mid size facilities throughout the country. According to the latest tendency, there is rapid growth of ubiquitous related technologies such as sensor, sensor network, wireless communications, and also there are large amount of efforts to apply these technologies to construction fields. However, these researches put values on technology itself, but researches for applications and practical use of these technologies are insufficient. Especially, researches about these technologies to apply facility monitoring field is still less unsatisfactory. Therefore, this paper will focused on methodologies about module structure by stages to realize facility monitoring systems in ubiquitous environment.

  • Due to its high dependency of manpower, construction work has several difficulties in terms of quality control, imbalance of supply and demand of qualified manpower, safety management for them and improvement of production. Such problems related to the management can be at some degree solved by introducing an automation facility. Since the unique environment of a construction site in the past was not structured, it is very hard to introduce a facility to automate construction work from operation of the equipment to assignment of where to work. This is a preliminary research for automation of construction work. In this study, the trend of development of a cutting-edge technology, RTLS, was researched and analyzed in order to review the possibility of utilizing RTLS in construction work and present a control mechanism for construction equipment. Although the presented mechanism is at the concept stage, which still has lots of restrictions to be solved, the application of the RTLS will be very much feasible. That is, if linkage of the study between the RTLS and the automation of construction is built, it will be expected to contribute to many fields such as cost reduction through efficient and systemic management, the reduction of construction period and precise construction as well as raising the level of the automation of domestic construction work.

Statistical Approach for Derivation of Quantitative Acceptance Criteria for Radioactive Wastes to Near Surface Disposal Facility

  • For reference human intrusion scenarios constructed in previous study, a probabilistic safety assessment to derive the radionuclide concentration limits for the low- and intermediate- level radioactive waste disposal facility is conducted. Statistical approach by the Latin Hypercube Sampling method is introduced and new assumptions about the disposal facility system are examined and discussed. In our previous study of deterministic approach, the post construction scenarios appeared as most limiting scenario to derive the radionuclide concentration limits. Whereas, in this statistical approach, the post drilling and the post construction scenarios are mutually competing for the scenario selection according to which radionuclides are more important in safety assessment context. Introduction of new assumption shows that the post drilling scenario can play an important role as the limiting scenario instead of the post-construction scenario. When we compare the concentration limits between the previous and this study, concentrations of radionuclides such as Nb-94, Cs-137 and alpha-emitting radionuclides show elevated values than the case of the previous study. Remaining radionuclides such as Sr-90, Tc-99 I-129, Ni-59 and Ni-63 show lower values than the case of the previous study.

  • The objective of this research is to develop a method of improving MEP facility management based on 3D reverse engineering. Recently, 3D image scanning-based reverse engineering has been implemented in the fields of architecture, construction and (manufacturing). In the case where there are many objects and the MEP system is complicated, 3D reverse engineering is applied in semiconductor factories, because facility maintenance works cause the 2D drawing to be different from the original one. The 3D point cloud data obtained from 3D image scanning contains accurate data and can increase the efficiency of complicated MEP facility maintenance works. For this purpose, the present research studied the technology trends and analyzed the process of 3D reverse engineering. Based on the results, a method of improving MEP facility management is established and its effects described.

  • In this paper, it is proposed the the SCADA(Supervisory control and Data Acquisition) system in Apartment complex. The proposed SCADA system make use of the computer CRT(Cathod RAy Tube), which automatically observe the Electrical Facility, Elvator Facility, Fire Alarm Facility and process in the real-time data. In order to improve the hardware performance and the information process, the SCADA system composed of master-slave topology and decentralized the supervisory Facility. This system is expected the retrenchment of construction expenditure and the level-up of supervisory execution.
