A Study on Change order factor analysis for military facility projects (군 시설사업의 설계변경 요인분석을 위한 기초연구)

  • Design modification is one of the elements that must be controlled in the process of any construction project. Especially a military facility project comes with more obstacles than private work due to the unique characteristics and closeness of the military. As there are both the project manager and the user within the ordering body, it is likely to have difficulties unless communication is conducted smoothly. The reason is that such issues regarding communication lead to design modification and it will result in the user's dissatisfaction. Thus this study aimed to identify the elements that generally cause design modification by analyzing characteristics of military projects from the status of current project contracts, analyzing past elements that lead to design modification and comprehensively researching responds from the survey on operators of facility projects. It is expected that loss from design modification of military facility projects is reduced by proposing feasible and practical improvements.

  • For the past two decades, 3D/4D CAD research has heel mainly focused on the design and construction phase of a facility life-cycle. However, there has been a general notion that the strength of 3D/4D CAD lends itself to other phases such as planning, operation and maintenance. In this research, a 3D/4D CAD model was generated in a commercial software platform. Then, the traditional 1:fe cycle facility management procedures are reviewed to, see any possible improvement opportunity with the 3D/4D CAD model as an example. A focus group interview, in conjuction with an extensive literature review, produced the list of area where 3D/4D CAD model could significantly benefit the traditional life cycle facility practices. Finally, a questionnaire-based survey was conducted with 155 respondents to statistically verify the feasibility of 3D/4D CAD for life cycle facility management.

  • Recently life and properties damage at Japan and China by generating earthquake. For establishing measure for earthquake in domestic, earthquake disaster measure law was enacted on March, 2008 from a natural disaster of earthquake and present the detail part and enforce the measures. This paper analyzes domestic site and problems of electrical facility earthquake measures at transformer vault which the power supply the emergence situation at generating earthquake. Also we present the domestic seismic design and construction direction from research and analysis related law and regulation for the seismic design and construction in domestic and foreign for electrical facility. Afterward we will need to study reliability inspection for electrical facility seismic design method and construction at buildings transformer vault.

  • In the case of river facilities, the management of this information differs depending on national and regional rivers, therefore, there is no integrated management in place. There is concern about the loss of facility information owing to the insufficient accumulation of information during their design and construction stages. Additionally, as a result, the utilization level of facility information during the maintenance and operation stages is insufficient. To ensure effective maintenance and operation of river facilities, it is necessary to secure data consistency and increase efficiency by organizing facility information according to a standardized classification system. This study proposes a strategy for implementing the BIM standard classification system in the river sector, considering facility characteristics. The goal is to introduce a BIM information model for 3D-based river facilities, and enable efficient maintenance and operation conversion.

  • In this paper, The investment prioritization model was investigated for keeping the service level of mooring facilities more than the target level of management with a limited budget in the right time. Network level prioritization criteria of the national scale was developed to take into criteria index and quantitative evaluation, management authority's opinion. Delphi method was conducted maintenance exports of mooring facilities over twice for verifying the validity and adequacy. In order to improve the objectivity of criteria, the criteria for evaluating the utilization of port facilities is presented form yearly facility traffic/facility's length, the result of the analysis of facility traffic data. The investment prioritization criteria of mooring facilities is expected to be utilized for more efficient and national budget distribution applied to the maintenance budget plan of nationwide.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate and analyze the function and scale on aspect of construction planning with examples of exhibition and convention facilities constructed recently in domestic and foreign area. Also, it was to provide the result for basic data for construction planning and architecture of similar facilities constructed later. The study methodles, but they had characteristics to use the space with compound purpose for exhibition, conference, etc through installing multi-purpose hall. Finally, for effective construction planning of exhibition and convention facilities, it was required to decrease the ratio of common area gradually and derive rationalization of whole space composition by deriving complexity of function rather than planning of single purpose of each facility for exhibition and conference function. was to analyze the characteristics of construction planning for composition and scale of exhibition, conference, public use, support, maintenance functions, etc and placement composition of unit rooms by each floor on the basis of internal area of exhibition and convention facility in Korea and Japan. As the result of analyzing 10 examples(K1~J5), the placement of auditorium and multi-purpose hall was affected according to location of exhibition room and conference room in the composition of unit rooms by each floor and the installment ratio of support facility in Korean examples was higher than in Japanese examples. In case of facility scale, the Japanese examples were overall small in the whole scale relatively to Korean examp.

Integrated Information Management for Composite Object Properties in BIM (BIM 복합객체에 대한 속성정보의 통합관리)

  • Building information modeling (BIM)-based construction projects have increased and become more varied, and as such the management of BIM-based facility information is also increasingly important for facility maintenance. Information management, and specifically product data mapping, however, has some problems in the area of manual data entry and does not adequately consider the exchange requirements of facility maintenance. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce a method to improve the management of composite object information for BIM-based facility maintenance so that it can handle construction operation building information exchange (COBie) data for a composite object. Therefore, we present a method to map COBie data to related materials of a composite object. This research contributes to increasing the efficiency and accuracy of the required information mapping between a building model and product data using a BIM library through optimal BIM data adoption. Moreover, it allows for the creation and management of specific product data at the design development phase.

Risk Identification and Priority Evaluation of Military Facility Relocation by Endowment and Concession Project (기부대양여 사업에 의한 군사시설 이전의 리스크 요인 도출 및 우선순위 평가)

  • The endowment and concession has been put to practical use for the relocation projects of military Facilities. Yet, in terms of the project implementation, delay of a great deal of the projects is occurring due to related regulations and standards, as well as a lack of mutual understanding between project implementers and military units. This study analyzes the risk factors by identifying and prioritizing the potential risk factors at each stage of project implementation such as the issues that limit project characteristics and implementation. Among the derived risk factors, request exceeding facility standards in the licensing and design phases, opposition to troop relocation in the project approval phase, design change during construction phase in the construction and completion phases, dissenting opinions on endowed/conceded property in the property disposal phase and absence of facility standards in the MOA conclusion phase were found to be the main object of consideration in risk management. This study is expected to provide project managers with a guideline for effectively pursuing the projects, as it provides prioritization and optimization of risk management.

  • Recently, the scale and technical complexity of agricultural production has been growing. Therefore, agricultural facilities are being gradually diversified, expanded, and made more complex. To furnish Korea's agricultural industry with international competitiveness, it is thus necessary to introduce new management techniques. The PCM (procurement-construction-maintenance) information management system for agricultural facilities is established by setting up its WBS (work breakdown structure). In this study, the WBS of a facility such as facility, space, element, works, and resources is analyzed. Following this analysts, a WBS of an agricultural facility that is appropriate for the PCM information system of an agricultural facility, is proposed by deriving it from actual WBS.
