In this study, developments of an efficient visco-hyperelastic constitutive equation for describing the time dependent material behavior accurately in dynamic and impact loading and finding related materials constants are considered. Based on proposed constitutive model, behaviour of a hollow cylinder elastomer bushing under different dynamic and impact loading conditions is studied. By implementing the developed visco-hyperelastic constitutive equation to LS-DYNA explicit dynamic finite element software a three dimensional model of the bushing is developed and dynamic behaviour of that in axial and torsional dynamic deformation modes are studied. Dynamic response and induced stress under different impact loadings which is rarely studied in previous researches have been also investigated. Effects of hyperelastic and visco-hyperelastic parameters on deformation and induced stresses as well as strain rate are considered.

In order to estimate the viscous effects of clay over a wide range of strain levels, we confirmed the performance of a viscoelastic-viscoplastic constitutive model by simulating cyclic undrained triaxial tests to determine the cyclic strength and deformation characteristics of natural marine clay. The viscoelastic-viscoplastic constitutive model was then incorporated into an effective stress-based seismic response analysis to estimate the effects of an intermediate clay layer on the behavior of sand layers. Seismic response was simulated by the cyclic viscoelastic-viscoplastic constitutive model created with data recorded at Rokko Island, Kobe, Japan. The results show that a cyclic viscoelastic-viscoplastic constitutive model can provide a good description of dynamic behavior including viscoelastic effects, within a small strain range.

In order to describe the mechanical behavior of highly anisotropic and asymmetric materials such as fiberreinforced composites, the elastic-plastic constitutive equations were used here based on the recently developed yield criterion and hardening laws. As for the yield criterion, modified Drucker-Prager yield surface was used to represent the orthotropic and asymetric properties of composite materials, while the anisotropic evolution of backstress was accounted for the hardening behavior. Experimental procedures to obtain the material parameters of the hardening laws and yield surface are presented for 3D Circular Braided Glass Fiber Reinforced Composites. For verification purpose, comparisons of finite element simulations using the elastic-plastic constitutive equations, anisotropic elastic constitutive equations and experiments were performed for the three point bending tests. The results of finite element simulations showed good agreements with experiments, especially for the elastic-plastic constitutive equations with yield criterion considering anisotropy as well as asymmetry and anisotropic back stress evolution rule.

Unusual mechanical constitutive behavior of magnesium alloy sheets has been implemented into the finite element program ABAQUS via user material subroutine. For the verification purpose, the springback of AZ31B magnesium alloy sheet was measured using the unconstrained cylindrical bending test of Numisheet'2002. In addition to the developed constitutive models, the other two models based on isotropic constitutive equations with tensile and compressive properties were also considered. Preliminary comparisons have been made between simulated results by the finite element analysis and corresponding experiments and the newly proposed model showed enhanced prediction capability in springback prediction.

This paper presents a feasibility study whether Shida's constitutive equation being widely used for plain carbon steel in steel manufacturing industry can be extended to alloy steels with a due carbon equivalent model. T,he constitutive relation of the alloy steels (SAE9254, AISI52100 and AISI4140) is measured using hot deformation simulator (GLEEBLE 3500C) at high temperatures ($800^{\circ}C{\~}1000^{\circ}C$) within strain rates of $0.05{\~}40\;s^{-1}$. It has been found the predicted flow stress behavior (constitutive relation) of AISI52100 steel is in agreement with the measured one. On the other hand, the measured flow stress behavior of SAE9254 and AISI4140 steel partly concords with the predicted one when material experiences relatively high strain rate ($10{\~}40\;s^{-1}$) deformation at low temperature ($800^{\circ}C$). It can be deduced that, for AISI52100 steel, Shida's equation with the carbon equivalent model can be applicable directly to the roughing and intermediate finishing stand in hot rolling process for calculating the roll force and torque.

Nowadays, steel fiber reinforced concretes (SFRCs) are widely used in practical applications. Significant experimental research has thus been carried out to determine the constitutive equations that represent the behavior of SFRCs under multiaxial loadings. However, numerical modelling of SFRCs via FEM has been challenging due to the complexities of the implementation of these constitutive equations. In this study, following the literature, a plasticity model is constructed for the behavior of SFRCs that involves the Willam-Warnke failure surface with the relevant evolution laws and a non-associated flow rule for determining the plastic deformations. For the precise (yet rapid) integration of the constitutive equations, an explicit substepping scheme consisting of yield intersection and drift correction algorithms is employed and thus implemented in ABAQUS via UMAT. The FEM model includes various material parameters that are determined from the experimental data. Three sets of parameters are used in the numerical simulations. While the first set is from the experiments that are conducted in this study on SFRC specimens with various contents of steel fibers, the other two sets are from the experiments reported in the literature. The response of SFRCs under multiaxial compression obtained from various numerical simulations are compared with the experimental data. The good agreement between numerical results and the experimental data indicates that not only the adopted plasticity model represents the behavior of SFRCs very well but also the implemented integration scheme can be employed in practical applications of SFRCs.
A viscoelastic constitutive equation of rubber that is under small oscillatory load superimposed on large static deformation is proposed. The proposed model is derived through linearization of Simo's viscoelastic constitutive model and reference configuration transformation. The proposed constitutive equation is extended to a generalized viscoelastic constitutive equation that includes widely used Mormin's model as a special case using objective stress increment. Static deformation correction factor is introduced to consider the influence of Pre-strain on the relaxation function. The proposed constitutive model is tested fer dynamic behavior of rubber specimens with different carbon black contents. It is concluded from the test that the viscoelastic constitutive equation for filled rubber must include the influence of the static deformation on the time effects. The suggested constitutive equation with static deformation correction factor shows good agreement with test values.
In this work, we present the development of a 3D lattice-type model at microscale based upon the Voronoi-cell representation of material microstructure. This model can capture the coupling between mechanic and electric fields with non-linear constitutive behavior for both. More precisely, for electric part we consider the ferroelectric constitutive behavior with the possibility of domain switching polarization, which can be handled in the same fashion as deformation theory of plasticity. For mechanics part, we introduce the constitutive model of plasticity with the Armstrong-Frederick kinematic hardening. This model is used to simulate a complete coupling of the chosen electric and mechanics behavior with a multiscale approach implemented within the same computational architecture.
A new model for describing the behavior of clay under monotonic and cyclic loading is proposed. This model uses the hyperbolic representation for the stress -strain relationship in overconsolidated state and it describes undrained effective stress path on the basis of the critical state theory. The developed constitutive model by using an energy dissipation equation can describe the behavior of clay in heavily overconsolidated state as u.ell as lightly overconsolidated state under monotonic loading. In order to extend the model for the behavior of clay under cyclic loading, a shift function of undrained stress spacing ratio is introduced in the constitutive model developed for monotonlc loading. A single additional parameter is required to represent the cyclic effect and it can be reasonably deter mined from the test results. The measured behavior in undrained cyclic triaxial tests has been easily and precisely predicted by the newly developed constitutive model.
Constitutive relations for lightly overconsolidated state of clayey soils. as well as normally consolidated state of those, play an important role in the analyses of geotechnical structures in clay deposits. For the practical point of view, a constitutive model applicable to lightly overconsolidated soils should be developed to easily evaluate the model parameters, and to precisely predict the various behavior of OC soils. For that purpose, a constitutive model for the lightly overconsolidated soil behavior has been proposed to rep- resent the undrained behavior which can be normalized using equivalent pressure, p. , Yielding within the initial yield surface is modeled exclusively using the given normally consolidated model parameters only. Furthermore, the proposed model can be applied to consider the effects of overconsolidation, secondary consolidation, and stress relaxation. The measured behavior in undrained triaxial tests has been Predicted easily and precisely in comparison with other models.
