The Wolsong-1 (W-1) Phase-B pre-simulations were carried out in preparation for tests to be conducted for the restart of the reactor after a major refurbishment project that included replacement of the pressure tube. These pre-simulations for Wolsong-1 Phase-B differ from those in the past that were performed for the Wolsong-1,2,3,4 tests in that these tests use the WIMS/DRAGON/RFSP-IST code suite for verification of the tests and gadolinium instead of the traditional PPV/MULTICELL/RFSP code system and boron as poison in the moderator system. The use of gadolinium is deemed not to have domestically accumulated experience gained from the previous Phase-B tests. Thus, it is appropriate to conduct a study in order to gain a correct understanding and interpretation of potential differences in test results stemming from using gadolinium rather than boron. Although the calibration of the reactivity device will not be noticeably different using boron and gadolinium at a constant moderator temperature, the temperature dependency of the neutronic behavior due to the presence of gadolinium in the moderator system might be pronounced. The results of the pre-simulations using gadolinium revealed that the moderator temperature reactivity coefficients indeed showed significant differences in comparison with those with boron. In order to secure the validity of the analysis results, the newly acquired WIMS/DRAGON/RFSP-IST code suite was verified against the W-2,3,4 Phase-B test results. The results of the new code suite verifications revealed some overall improvements in accuracy; justification of the use of the code can be claimed for the validation of the W-1 Phase-B test results.
By means of constant- pressure molecular dynamics simulations, we studied the liquid- glass- crystalline transition of a system composed of Lennard- Jones particles with periodic boundary conditions. Atomic volume and enthalpy were calculated as functions of temperature during heating and cooling processes. The Wendt- Abraham ratio derived from radial distribution function and the angular distribution function characterizing short range order were analyzed to distinguish between liquid, glass and crystalline states. A liquid phase resulting from a slow heating of an initial fee crystal amorphized on fast quench, but it crystallized on slow quench. When slowly heated, the amorphous phase from fast quench crystallized into an fee structure. A system with free surface was shown to melt from the surface inward at a lower temperature than bulk system and to have a strong tendency for crystallization even during a fast quench from a liquid state.

There has always been a demand for orthodontic treatment. Orthodontic treatment allows tooth to be arranged by flexible arch wire fixed with tooth-attached brackets. Arch wire generate constant pressure to tooth brackets which moves the teeth to proper place. When the bracket transmits force, the braced wing of the bracket may deform. Deformed tie wing will lead to lost tension of elastic ligature. Then, lacking grip between tie wing and ligature might delay the tooth movement. Furthermore, tooth brackets used for orthodontic treatment make contact with in direct oral surface and this cause feeling of irritation that comes from height of tooth braces. This study suggests an optimal teethe bracket design to make up for inconvenience by shorten the height of bracket and complement the shape of bracket to reduce strain rate using finite element analysis. As a result, new optimal design of teethe bracket indicates lower strain rate of the bracket wing and takes good effects of shorten body height in terms of convenience.

Drained cyclic triaxial tests were conducted on a saturated sand to examine its deformation characteristics under either axial or lateral cyclic loading condition. To apply lateral cyclic loading, the cell pressure was cycled while maintaining a constant vertical stress. The strain accumulations and flow direction in the soil were presented and discussed considering various initial stress ratios (η0), cyclic stress amplitudes and cyclic stress paths. The results indicate that axial strain accumulation shows an exponential increase with the maximum stress ratio (ηmax). The initial deviatoric stress has comparable effects with lateral cyclic stress amplitude on the accumulated axial strain. In contrast, the accumulated volumetric strain is directly proportional to the lateral cyclic stress amplitude but not much affected by η0 values. Due to the anisotropy of the soil, the accumulated axial and lateral bulging strains are greater in lateral cyclic loading when compared to axial cyclic loading even though ηmax is the same. It is also found that ηmax affects soil's lateral deformation and increasing the ratio could change the lateral deformation from contraction to bulging. The flow direction depends on ηmax in the sand under lateral cyclic loading, regardless of η0 values and the cyclic stress amplitudes, and a large ηmax could lead to great deviatoric strain but a little volumetric strain accumulation.
This experiment was undertaken to assess the effect of nitric oxide, isosorbide dinitrate, and sodium nitroprusside, which are known to increase coronary flow by vasodilation and to improve the cardiac function of an ischemic heart The experiment was carried out to investigate the effect of nitric oxide on the coronary artery of an ischemic rat myocardium using isolated constant pressure Langendorfr system. The experimental parameters were lactate and CK-MB for the frozen myocardium and coronary flow. the quantity of coyonary flow, left ventricular developed pressure (LVDP), and dp/dt. The experimental groups were decided as control group (Group I), nitric oxide group (Group II), Iso orbide dinitrate group (Group III) and sodium nitroprusside group (Group IV). Statistical analysis was performed using repeated measured analysis of variance and 2tudent t-test The results were as follows: 1 . The lactic acid contents of group II and IV were less than other groups for the frozen myocardium at preischemic state (p< 0.0025), whereas the determined coronary flows were higher. 2. In the ratio of produced lactic acid between the preischemia and reperfusion for the coronary flow, group II and IV exhibitrod less value than others (p< 0.005). 3. Group II and III were less than others in the coronary flow for the quantity of CK-MB, but or the frozen myocardium, group II and IV were less. 4. Group II and IV showed higher coronary flow compared to others throughout entire experimental period (p< 0.005). 5. Group II was highest at the preischemic state for the left ventricular developed pressure. 6. The +maximal dp/dt of group II was highest compared to others. 7. Group I exhibi ed the highest recovery rate of coronary flow between prelschemla and reperfusion. 8. The(-dp/dt)1(+dp/dt) ratio was 116%, 100%, 100%, and 55% for the 4 groups, respectively And the recovery rate of total dp/dt was 34%, 67%, 51%, and 76% for the four groups, respectively.

A pilot scale biofilter pretreatment-microfiltration system (BF-MF) was operated to investigate the effect of biofilter treatment in fouling reduction of microfiltration. Biofiltration was expected to reduce the membrane fouling by removal of turbidity and metal oxides. The hollow-fiber MF module with a nominal pore size of 0.1$\mu$m and a surface area of 8m$^2$ was submerged in a filtration tank and microfiltration was operated at a constant flux of 0.5 m/d. Biofiltration using polypropylene pellets was performed at a high filtration velocity of 320 m/d. Two experimental setups composed of MF and BF/MF, i.e., without and with biofilter pretreatment, were compared. Throughout the experimental period of 9 months, biofilter pretreatment was effective to reduce the membrane fouling, which was proved by the result of time variations of trans-membrane pressure and backwash conditions. The turbidity removal rate by biofiltration varied between 40% to 80% due to the periodic washing for biofilter contactor and raw water turbidity. In addition to turbidity, metals, especially Mn, Fe and Al were removed effectively with average removal rates of 89.2%, 67.8% and 64.9%, respectively. Further analysis of foulants on the used membranes revealed that turbidity and metal removal by biofiltration was the major effect of biofiltration pretreatment against microfiltration fouling.

Recently, the nanowire configuration of GST showed nanosecond-level phase switch at very low power dissipation, suggesting that the nanowires could be ideal for data storage devices. In spite of many advantages of IST materials, their feasibility in both thin films and nanowires for electronic memories has not been extensively investigated. The synthesis of the chalcogenide nanowires was mainly preformed via a vapor transport process such as vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) growth at a high temperature. However, in this study, IST nanowires as well as thin films were prepared at a low temperature (${\sim}250^{\circ}C$) by metal organic chemical vapor deposition(MOCVD) method, which is possible for large area deposition. The IST films and/or nanowires were selectively grown by a control of working pressure at a constant growth temperature by MOCVD. In-Sb-Te NWs will be good candidate materials for high density PRAM applications. And MOCVD system is powerful for applying ultra scale integration cell.
The inducers in liquid-rocket engines are to increase the inlet pressure of the pump to avoid any malfunction due to cavitation. Inducers are typically designed to be operated with some amount of cavitation for the compactness of the turbopump system. Also, inducers are designed to produce low headrise to prevent the decrease of the overall pump efficiency due to the low efficiency of inducers. In the present paper, a computational study on the hydrodynamic behavior of the inducer for the rocket-engine turbopump are presented including the effect of the mass flow rate under the constant rotational speed. As the mass flow rate is decreased, the inducer showed better performance with strong back flows which may have deleterious effects upon the anti-cavitation ability. But the adopted inducer showed very low headrise with high volume flow rates, which may be caused by the small passage area near the trailing edge. The modified version of the present inducer is proposed and numerically evaluated, which in turn showed better results.

We conducted the firing test with the regenerative cooling LRE and calculated the heat flux from measured coolant temperature, that was compared with the heat flux predicted by previously developed numerical analysis method. The difference between the measured heat flux and the numerical calculation value was within nine percents. Therefore, developed numerical analysis method can be applied to the design/fabrication of a real LRE system. and, it was investigated that combustion pressure and mixture ratio have an Influence on the heat flux with a constant relation.

In this study, transparent and conductive Al-doped zinc oxide (AZO) films were prepared on Corning glass and silicon wafer substrate by RF magnetron sputtering method using an Al-doped ZnO target (Al: 2 wt.%) at room temperature as the thickness of 150 nm. We investigated the effects of the RF power between 100 Wand 350 W in steps of 50 W on structural, electrical and optical properties of AZO films. Also, we studied the effects of the working pressure (3, 4 and 5 mtorr) on that condition. The thickness and cross-sectional images of films were observed by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and all of the films were kept to be constant to $150\pm10$ nm on Coming glass and silicon wafer. A grain size was calculated from X-ray diffraction (XRD) on using the Scherrer' equation and their electrical properties investigated hall effect electronic transport measurement system. Moreover, we measured transmittance of AZO films by UV/VIS spectrometer.
