Expert System for ABC Tuning of Once-Through Bboiler

  • A newly developed Expert System (ES) for the tuning of thermal power plant control equipment is described. The system is furnished with the rules for controller tuning which were obtained by analysis and arranging the data and knowledge from the experts or tuning records. Based on these rules, automatic tuning or setting of the control parameters is performed in real-time base. The performance of the test equipment, a combination of ES and a boiler simulator, was examined in the automatic tuning test for steam pressure, steam temperature, and load controllers of a constant-pressure once-through boiler model. It was confirmed from the test results that the system is quite promising for future application to actual plants, since the tuning results obtained by the proposed system were similar to those by tuning experts.

  • For the practical use of a fuel injection system using solenoid, some mechanical and electrical problems should be explicitly analyzed. In our study, we have investigated these problems experimentally and have improved such that a solenoid driving circuit is liable to establish a fast reponse and a precise control of injection quantity. This proposed fuel injecton system is capable to control equivalence ratio from low level to high level. Therefore, we expect that this proposed system should be applicable to an actual engine.

IDC장치에 대한 공압시스템의 모델링에 관한 연구 (A Study on Modeling of Pneumatic System for an IDC Device)

  • An intelligent deburring control (IDC) device is used to control the constant force for a deburring tool mounted on the end-effector of a robotic arm. This device maintains a constant contact force between the deburring tool and the workpiece in order to provide a good deburring performance. In this paper, we build a mathematical model in Matlab/Simulink to estimate the force control mechanism of the pneumatic system for the IDC device. The Simulink blocks are built for each separate part and are linked into an integrated simulation system. Such a model also relies on the effects of the flow rate through the valve, air compressibility in the cylinder, and time delay in the pressure valve. The results of the simulation are compared to a simple experiment in which convenient math modeling is performed. These results are then used to optimize the mechanical design and to develop a force control algorithm for the pneumatic cylinder.

Clean Stocker내 새로운 방식의 기류제어에 관한 연구(II) (Analysis of New Air Control System in Clean Stocker(II))

  • Clean stockers are being used by semiconductor and TFT-LCD manufacturers to store and buffer work in process. The only way to keep the stored product clean is to provide constant clean airflow the product and through stocker. Up to now, stockers typically have been configured to receive their laminar airflow from fan filter units that are located on the side of the stocker. This type of stocker may have such problems as complexity of structure, increment of temperature, mechanical vibration, initial investment and running cost. In this study, in order to solve the above mentioned problems, new air control system in stocker is proposed, which is to control open ratios of exits that are located on the side of the stocker without fan filter units. In this study, static pressure regain was used for the analysis of the open ratios of exits theoretically and experiment was also conducted using actual clean stocker for TFT-LCD manufacturers and CFDesign, was used for simulating airflow in stocker. As a result, open ratios of exits can be obtained by the analysis of static pressure regain and was verified by experiment and simulation results. Therefore, new air control system in stocker can be used by the semiconductor and TFT-LCD manufacturers.

오리피스 구조내에서 발생한 공동소음의 음향학적 스케일링에 관한 연구 (A study on the acoustic scalings of cavitation noise in an orifice configuration and a constant flow control valve)

  • The major source of noise in the process of transporting liquids is related to the cavitation phenomenon. The control valve noise is mostly dominated by bubble dynamics under cavitating conditions. In this investigation, an orifice configuration is set-up to correlate its flow-field and acoustic signatures with those from a control valve device. The performance and noise characteristics form the orifice configuration in anechoic surroundings were measured to reveal the noise sources depending on pressure differences across the orifice configuration. The sound powers from the orifice configuration are effectively normalized using proposed scaling parameters. Flow-excited dynamic systems for which there is no strong coupling between the flow and the system response can be described using a linear source-filter model. On this assumption, the normalized sound powers can be decomposed of noise source function and a response function. To find noise sources, pressure spectra measured over a range of pressure differences are transformed into the product of two non-dimensional frequency function : $P_{ss}(He,f_{ca},x/D) = F(f_{ca})\;G(He,x/D)$. This scheme of finding noise sources is shown to be applicable to the cavitation noise from the control valve effectively Two kinds of cavitating modes based on our experimental data are found and discussed.

수두층 환자의 치료에 사용되는 션트밸브의 개발 (Development of Shunt Valves Used to Treat Patients with Hydrocephalus)

  • 수두증 환자의 뇌압을 조절하기 위해 사용되는 션트밸브의 개발을 수행하였다. 개발을 목표로 하는 밸브는 실리콘 일래스토머를 주재료로 하는 일정압력형 VP (ventriculoperitoneal) 밸브이다 시제작된 밸브는 In Vitro 실험을 통해 기존의 상용 밸브와 유사한 압력-유량 조절특성을 나타냈으며 IS07197 기준에 따른 28일간의 내구성 테스트에서 뒤지지 않는 결과를 보였다. 제작된 밸브의 치료효과를 실험하기 위해 10kg 개 (beagle dog)에게 인위적으로 수두증을 유발시킨 결과. 뇌실이 크게 팽창하고 행동에 이상을 보였으나 션트밸브를 시술한 결과 수두증에 의해 팽창된 뇌실이 현저하게 줄어들고 정상 크기를 회복하였으며 행동이 정상적으로 돌아왔다 션트밸브의 유동 오리피스의 크기가 동작 중에 10 마이크로미터 이내이며 약간의 오타에 의해서도 압력조절특성이 변화하므로 밸브의 성공적인 동작을 위해서는 정밀한 설계와 제조기술이 요구되었다.

바퀴 슬립과 잠김 방지 제어를 고려한 차량의 종렬 브레이크 제어 (Vehicle Longitudinal Brake Control with Wheel Slip and Antilock Control)

  • In this paper, a 4-wheel vehicle model including the effects of tire slip was considered, along with variable parameter sliding control, in order to improve the performance of the vehicle longitudinal response. The variable sliding parameter is made to be proportional to the square root of the pressure derivative at the wheel, in order to compensate for large pressure changes in the brake cylinder. A typical tire force-relative slip curve for dry road conditions was used to generate an analytical tire force-relative slip function, and an antilock sliding control process based on the analytical tire force-relative slip function was used. A retrofitted brake system, with the pushrod force as the end control parameter, was employed, and an average decay function was used to suppress the simulation oscillations. The simulation results indicate that the velocity and spacing errors were slightly larger than those obtained when the wheel slip effect was not considered, that the spacing errors of the lead and follower were insensitive to the adhesion coefficient up to the critical wheel slip value, and that the limit for the antilock control under non-constant adhesion road conditions was determined by the minimum value of the equivalent adhesion coefficient.

  • 자동차 부품의 측정 시스템은 현재 고가의 장비가 대부분이다. 본 논문에서는 저가의 장비를 구현하려고 하였다. 자동차의 부품은 여러가지가 있으나, 이 중에서 현재 공장에서 공기흐름 제어에 어려움을 겪고 있는 CCP(Canister Controlled Purge Solenoid)을 대상으로 하였다. 공기의 사용량에 따라 진공압력을 일정하게 유지하는데 소요하는 시간이 과거에는 최소한 3-4분 정도 요구하지만 본 개발의 목표는 보다 더 짧은 시간이내(수초)에 컴퓨터를 이용하여 설정진공을 유지하고자 한다. 즉 일정공기압 하에서 자동차 부품 CCP를 검사하는 제어시스템을 개발하고자 하였다.

입체화학을 이용한 생분해성 고분자의 분해속도에 관한 연구 (Study on Degradation Rates of Biodegradable Polymers by Stereochemistry)

  • To control degradation rate of biodegradable poly(lactide)s (PLA), the stereochemical PLAs with different ratios of d-lactide and l-lactide units were synthesized by the ring open polymerization and the their degradation kinetics were measured by a Langmuir film balance. The alkaline (pH=11) degradation of poly(l-lactide) (l-PLA) monolayer showed the faster rate at a surface pressure of 4 mN/m in the ranges from to 0 to 7 mN/m. However, the enzymatic degradation of l-PLA with Proteinase K did not occur until 4 mN/m. Above a constant surface pressure of 4 mN/m, the degradation rate was increased with a constant surface pressure. These behaviors might be attributed to the difference in the contacted area with degradation medium: alkaline ions need small contact area with l-PLA while enzymes require much bigger one to be activated due to different medium sizes. The stereochmical PLA monolayers showed that the alkaline degradation was increased with their optical impurities while the enzymatic one was inversed. These results could be explained by the decrease of crystallinity with the optical impurity and the inactivity of enzyme to d-LA unit.

콜로이드 용액의 막여과에서 자연대류 불안정 흐름의 막오염 저감 효과 해석: 막힘여과 모델의 적용 (Analysis of Membrane Fouling Reduction by Natural Convection Instability Flow in Membrane Filtration of Colloidal Solution: Application of Blocking Filtration Model)

  • 알루미나 콜로이드 용액의 막여과에서 막모듈의 중력에 대한 경사각 변화로 유발된 자연대류 불안정 흐름(natural convection instability flow, NCIF)의 콜로이드 물질의 막오염 제어 효과를 정압(constant-pressure) 막여과 시 플럭스 증가와 정투과량(constant-flux) 막여과 시 막차압 감소 정도로 측정하고, 플럭스 결과를 막힘여과 모델로 해석하였다. 막모듈의 경사각이 0°에서 180°로 커지면 NCIF 유발이 증가하여 막오염 제어 효과가 커져 2시간의 막여과에서 플럭스는 최대 2.8배까지 증가하고, 막차압은 최대 85%까지 감소하였다. 막힘여과 모델을 적용하여 NCIF의 유발에 따른 플럭스 결과를 해석하여 운전 시간 15분 이내에서는 중간막힘모델 그 이후에는 케이크여과모델로 평가하는 것이 타당하였다. 막모듈 경사각 180°에서 유발된 NCIF는 15분 이내의 운전 초기에는 중간막힘 오염을 52% 감소시키고, 그 이후의 운전 시간에서는 케이크층 오염을 93% 감소시켰다. 따라서 막모듈에 유발된 NCIF의 주된 막오염 제어기작은 막표면에의 입자상 콜로이드 물질의 케이크층 형성을 억제시키는 것으로 평가하였다.
