진동이 평형감각에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effect of Vibration Input toward the Sense of Equilibrium)

  • In this study, we investigated the influence of vibrational stimulation on postural control. To study the effect, the sway of the center of pressure was observed fur two different visual conditions and for three different patterns of vibrational stimulation on plantar area. The two visual conditions were normal condition with visual feedback and blind condition with both eyes closed. The three vibrational stimulations were white noise, constant vibration, and vibration with amplitude modulations (sine curve modulation). The experimental results showed that the sway of the center of pressure distinctively reduced with white noise vibrational stimulation. This result showed that it's possible to use vibrational stimulation for improving the ability of postural control.

  • This paper proposes a multi absorbing wave energy converter design, in which a hydrostatic transmission is used to transfer wave energy to electric energy. The most important feature of this system is its combination of the pressure coupling principle with the use of a hydraulic accumulator to eliminate the effects of wave power fluctuation; this maintains a constant speed of the hydraulic motor. Tilt motion of a floating buoy was employed as the power take-off mechanism. Furthermore, a PID controller was designed to carry out the speed control of the hydraulic motor. The design offers some advantages such as extending the life of the hydraulic components, increasing the amount of energy harvested, and stabilizing the output speed.

저온 바이오디젤 연료의 연소특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Combustion Characteristics when applied Bio-Diesel Fuel at Low Temperature)

  • In this research, combustion and spray characteristics were investigated experimentally in a constant volume chamber by applying bio-diesel fuel to a common-rail system in which precise control is available for utilizing environmentally friendly properties of bio-diesel fuel. The experiment was conducted at fuel temperatures $20^{\circ}C$ and $-20^{\circ}C$ to investigate combustion characteristics of bio-diesel fuel provoking problems in fluidity specially in a low temperature. For the visualization, the experiment was carried out under various conditions of ambient pressure, injection pressure and fuel temperature. The test was made by three different types of diesel fuels, conventional diesel, BD20 and BD100. In summary, this research aims to investigate combustion characteristics in the application of bio-diesel fuels and compare the results with performance of conventional diesel fuel. This experimental data may provide fundamentals of spray and combustion of bio-diesel fuels at a low temperature and contribute to the development of bio-diesel engines in future.

Sputtering Technique of Magnesium Oxide Thin Film for Plasma Display Panel Applications

  • A high rate deposition sputtering process of magnesium oxide thin film in oxide mode has been developed using a 20 kW unipolar pulsed power supply. The power supply was operated at a maximum constant voltage of 500 V and a constant current of 40 A. The pulse repetition rate and the duty were changed in the ranges of $10\sim50$ kHz and $10\sim60%$, respectively. The deposition rate increased with rising incident power to the target. Maximum incident power to the magnesium target was obtained by the control of frequency, duty and current. The deposition rate of a moving state was 9 nm m/min at the average power of 1.5 kW. This result shows higher deposition rate than any other previous work involving reactive sputtering in oxide mode. The thickness uniformities over the entire substrate area of $982mm{\times}563mm$ were observed at the processing pressure of $2.8\sim9.5$ mTorr. The thickness distribution was improved at lower pressure. This technique is proposed for application to a high through-put sputtering system for plasma display panels.

압력에 따른 평행박막 밸브의 자율 변형을 이용한 수동형 유량 제어기의 동적특성 평가 (Dynamic Characterization of Passive Flow-Rate Regulator Using Pressure-Dependent Autonomous Deflection of Parallel Membrane Valves)

  • 본 연구에서는, 미소유체시스템 상에서 정밀한 유체 제어를 위해 입력압력이 변하여도 일정한 유량을 유지할 수 있는 수동형 유량제어기를 개발함에 있어, 주기적으로 변화하는 압력에 대한 유량제어기의 동적특성을 평가하였다. 압력 변화의 주기보다 짧은 시간 내에 유량을 측정하기 위하여 입자영상속도계(Particle Image Velocimetry, PIV) 방법을 이용하였다. 지름이 $0.7{\mu}m$ 인 형광입자가 담긴 탈이온수를 유량제어기에 공급하고, 펄스레이저와 형광현미경을 이용하여 $10{\mu}s$ 간격의 연속된 사진을 얻고 이를 분석하여 유량제어기를 통과한 후의 유체의 속도를 측정하였다. 개발된 유량제어기는 20kPa 과 50kPa 사이를 주기적으로 변화하는 60Hz 의 압력 하에서 0.194${\pm}$0.014m/s의 일정한 유속을 유지함을 실험적으로 확인하였다. 압력의 주파수를 1~60Hz 까지 변화시켜가며 수행한 실험에서도 유량제어기는 압력의 주파수에 상관없이 $5.82{\pm}0.29\;{\mu}l/s$ 의 일정한 유량 공급이 가능함을 확인하였다.

  • 원형 오픈 케이슨과 원형 수직구에 설치된 흙막이 벽에 작용하는 토압은, 벽체의 변위와 응력해방으로 인한 수평 및 연직 아칭효과로 인하여, 평면 변형조건에서의 옹벽에 작용하는 토압보다는 작은 토압이 발생한다. 원형벽체에 작용하는 토압분포를 조사하기 위해서, 건조한 모래지반에서 깊이에 따른 벽체변형이 균등한 조건의 모형실험을 실시하였다. 벽체 변위, 벽면 마찰, 벽체 형상비 등을 조절할 수 있는 모형 실험 장치가 개발되었고, 모형실험을 통하여 원통형 벽체에 작용하는 토압에 대한 다양한 인자의 영향이 분석되었다.

A Study on the Behavior of Evaporating Diesel Spray Using LIEF Measurement and KIVA Code

  • The effects of change in injection pressure on spray structure in high temperature and pressure field have been investigated. The analysis of liquid and vapor phases of injected fuel is important for emissions control of diesel engines. Therefore, this work examines the evaporating spray structure using a constant volume vessel. The injection pressure is selected as the experimental parameter, is changed from 400 bar to 800 bar by using a common rail injection system. Also, we conducted simulation study by modified KIVA-II code. The results of simulation study are compared with experimental results. The images of liquid and vapor phase for free spray were simultaneously taken by exciplex fluorescence method. As experimental results, the vapor concentration of injected fuel is leaner due to the increase of atomization in the case of the high injection pressure than in that of the low injection pressure. The calculated results obtained by modified KIVA-II code show good agreements with experimental results.

  • Die finishing (polishing and lapping) after NC machining is characterized as one bottleneck process for reducing lead time. For automation of this typical manual work, a flexible polishing tool system using industrial robot has been developed. This tool system has three principal functions in order to achieve reduction of waviness, 3 D.O.F. compliance and constant pressure structure. This polishing tool shows that adaptability to free form surface is increased and programmability to various areas of die surface is also acquired.

  • In this study, a hydraulic modulator of solenoid-flow type ABS, the master sylinder, and the wheel cylinder are modeled and simulated for increasing pressure characteristics of the brake. Response can be predicted by external force of the the master sylinder and pulses to the solenoid valve as input. For a demonstration of simulation result, experiment is done under the same condition as simulation condition after experimental apparatus of 1/4 car model is constructed. When factors of flow control valve are changed, the effect of each factor to response, how to improve response, and the most critical factors are considered from simulated result of time constant.

  • Load simulator is essential to test and quality the performance of various control systems. It is good time to introduce a method to design and analyze the load simulator or since many research centers and industrial companies are trying to buy or design the load simulator. The stability, accuracy and response speed of the simulator are represented by the system parameters such as the hydraulic motor characteristics, the servovalve characteristics, supply pressure, rotational inertia, rotational spring constant, sensor and controller gains. Two design examples are shown here. A load simulator for a position control system and that for a velocity control system are designed. The goodness of the proposed method is verified by the digital computer simulations.
