Tensile load bearing capacities of co-cured single and double lap joints (외면 및 양면겹치기 동시경화조인트의 인장하중 전달용량에 관한 연구)

  • Co-cured joining method is an efficient joining technique because both curing and bonding processes for the composite structures can be achieved simultaneously. It requires neither an adhesive nor a surface treatment of the composite adherend because the excess resin, which is extracted from composite materials during consolidation, accomplishes the co-cured joining process. In this paper, we considered three bond parameters, affecting tensile load bearing capacity of the co-cured single and double lap joints. Filially, we nave presented optimal bonding conditions for co-cured single and double lap joints with steel and composite adherends under tensile loads.

  • The use of shield is increasing day by day, because it's method is advantageous tunneling method to soft and collapsible ground. In case of analyzing shield tunnel by FEM, short term behavior of ground by initial heaving and tail void closure and long terms of it because of consolidation by changes of pore pressures in clay must be considered. In this paper, the shield tunneling construction stages was analyzed from 2 dimensional elasto - viscoplastic finite element program used Mohr - Coulomb yield criterion but not considered the changes of pore pressures. The object of investigation was N - 2 Tunnel. Since the good results of analysis compared to the measured behavior of ground for heaving, tail void closure and liner installation, this results can be applied to design and construction of shield tunneling for the subways, sewage lines etc.

  • In this study, bottom-up type powder processing and top-down type SPD (severe plastic deformation) approaches were combined in order to achieve full density of carbon nanotube (CNT)/metal matrix composites with superior mechanical properties by improved particle bonding and least grain growth, which were considered as a bottle neck of the bottom-up method using the conventional powder metallurgy of compaction and sintering. ECAP (equal channel angular pressing), the most promising method in SPD, was used for the CNT/Cu powder consolidation. The powder ECAP processing with 1, 2, 4 and 8 route C passes was conducted at room temperature.

  • In this study, obtained large block sample and piston sample of marine clay in korea were performed unconfined compression and consolidation test. Soil properties of two type samples such as failure strain, between two parameter's ratio($E_{50}$ and $q_u$), and volumetric strain were used to evaluate sample disturbance. The result, large block samples show a low disturbance than piston samples. Therefore, we suggest new sample disturbance evaluated method through the relation of OCR and volumaric strain at shallow of marine clay in Korea and suggest new sample disturbance classified method by subdivided grade for failure strain of unconfined compression test.

Estimation of Paddy Water Demand Using Land Cover Map in North Korea (토지피복도를 이용한 북한 지역의 논용수 수요량 추정)

  • Agricultural water demand in North Korea must be considered for the near-future investment in agricultural consolidation projects and to prepare for the future unification. Thus, the objective of this study is to estimate the agricultural water demand of paddy fieldss in North Korea. GIS data including land cover classification map, Thiessen network and administration maps of North Korea, and meteorological data were synthesized. In order to estimate paddy water demand for a 10-year return period, the FAO Blaney-Criddle method and the fixed effective rainfall ratio method were used. The results showed that 4.77 billion $\beta$(c)/year paddy water demand is required for the 512,400 ha of paddy fieldss. Paddy water demand in the three major regions - Hwanghaedo, Pyeongando, Hamgyeongnamdo - was estimated chargong 81.7 percent of total paddy water demand in North Korea.

  • Generally, the owners of the facilities adopt CP(Cathodic Protection) Systems to protect the corrosion accidents previously. The developed countries have secured the standard of CP systems through the various researches and consolidation of the rules. So in the first stage. I had been studied the international standards; JSCE, NACE Standard, ASTM, DNV, Australian Standard etc. and standardized the CP systems about items performance. specifications and so on. In this thesis, I have been studying the results of standardization of performance test methods of CP rectifier to apply in Korea.

  • Finite element analysis of open die forging process to make rectangular billet has been performed in this study. Three dimensional rigid-plastic finite element method was used to analyze the effects of process variables, forging pass design and die configurations on the void closure phenomena to maximize the internal deformation for better structural homogeneity and center-line consolidation of the rectangular billet. The effect of anvil width ratio, anvil pitch, anvil shape and number of pass has been estimated by the degree of void closure ratio. Although it is difficult to optimize process parameters in the operational environments, favourable process conditions are suggested for better product quality.

  • The EPS construction method-one kind of the load reducing methods-utilizes the EPS blocks, ultra-light materials whose unit weight is about 1/100 of soils and has been applied to many soft ground sites. It needed 3,000 days to get the 90% degree of the consolidation for the case of 12m high soil embankments on the 30m thick soft clayey foundations. The N value of SPT at this deposit was less than 5. The pack drain was installed to promote the radial consolidations. Although staged embankments were planned, designers failed to get a sufficient stability of the foundation ground. Therefore, the EPS fill method was selected to reduce the load and the construction period. EPS blocks(D-20 model) replaced the upper part of the soil embankments. These complex embankments reduced the ground settlement and the construction period. The possibility of lateral movements of the bridge abutments was checked and the design scheme was reviewed.

  • The constrained modulus, representative property to evaluate compressibility of soil, is needed to estimate the settlement of ground structure. A series of lab and field cone penetration tests for clayey soil of Busan new-port and Noksan industrial area were conducted to evaluate the estimation method of constrained modulus. Since CPT generates large deformation of ground, it is difficult to correlate the cone resistance with the constrained modulus. Therefore, appropriate correlation between them is essential to estimate the constrained modulus based on CPT results. The test results show that the ratio of the constrained modulus to the cone resistance is inversely proportional with plasticity index. Based on this result, the estimation method of constrained modulus for Busan clay is suggested.
