  • The process capability indices are widely used to measure the capability of the process to manufacture items within the specified tolerance. Most evaluations on process capability indices focus on point estimates, which may result in unreliable assessments of process performance. The index $C_p$ has been widely used in various industries to assess process performance. In this paper, we propose new testing procedure on assessing $C_p$ index for practitioners to use in determining whether a given process is capable. The provided approach is easy to use and the decision making is more reliable. Whether a process is clearly normal or nonnormal, our bootstrap testing procedure could be applied effectively without the complexity of calculation. A numerical result based on the proposed approach is illustrated.

  • In planning a model-based phylogenic study for highly related ethnic data, the SNP marker number is an important factor to determine for relationship inferences. Genotype frequency data, utilizing a sub sampling method, from 63 Pan Asian ethnic groups was used for determining the minimum SNP number required to establish such relationships. Bootstrap random sub-samplings were done from 5.6K PASNPi SNP data. DA distance was calculated and neighbour-joining trees were drawn with every re-sampling data set. Consensus trees were made with the same 100 sub-samples and bootstrap proportions were calculated. The tree consistency to the one obtained from the whole marker set, improved with increasing marker numbers. The bootstrap proportions became reliable when more than 7,000 SNPs were used at a time. Within highly related ethnic groups, the minimum SNPs number for a robust neighbor-joining tree inference was about 7,000 for a 95% bootstrap support.

  • The generalized logit model of nominal type with random regressors is studied for bootstrapping. We assess the accuracy of some estimators for our generalized logit model using a Monte Carlo simu-lation. That is we study the finite sample properties containing the consistency and asymptotic normality of the maximum likelihood es-timators. Also we compare Newton Raphson algorithm with BHHH algorithm.

  • In actual manufacturing industries, process capability analysis often entails characterizing or assessing processes or products based on more than one engineering specification or quality characteristic. Since these characteristics are related, it is a risky undertaking to represent variation of even a univariate characteristic by a single index. Therefore, the desirability of using vector-valued process capability index(PCI) arises quite naturally. In this paper, some vector-valued ${PCI}_p$ ${C}_p$=(${C}_{px}$, ${C}_{py}$),${C}_{pk}$=(${C}_{pkx}$, ${C}_{pky}$) and ${C}_{pm}$=(${C}_{pmx}$, ${C}_{pmy}$) considering univariate PCIs ${C}_p$,${C}_{pk}$ and ${C}_{pm}$ are studied. First, we propose some asymptotic confidence regions of our vector-valued PCIs with bootstrap. And we examine the performance of asymptotic confidence regions of our vector-valued PCIs ${C}_p$ and ${C}_{pk}$ under the assumption of bivariate normal distribution BN($\mu_{x}$, $\mu_{y}$, $\sigma_{x}^{2}$, $\sigma_{y}^{2}$, $\rho$) and bivariate chi-square distribution Bivariate $x^2$(5,5,$\rho$).

  • This study sought to provide basic data on the soccer shoe brand strategy method by verifying the effectiveness of the soccer shoe brand 3i model to derive the importance and implications of the brand 3i model. Therefore, the sample was selected for those who have purchased soccer shoes for the past three years, and 421 copies of the data were applied to the final analysis. Data processing performed frequency analysis, internal consistency, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and structural equation model analysis, all of which utilized SPSS (ver. 21.0) and AMOS (ver. 20.0) programs. The conclusions of this study are as follows. First, soccer shoe brand 3i model had a significant influence on brand trust. Second, brand trust had a significant influence on consumer purchasing behavior. Third, soccer shoe brand 3i model had a significant influence on consumer purchasing behavior. Lastly, brand trust between soccer shoe brand 3i model and consumer purchasing behavior showed partial mediated effect.

  • The change of hazard rates at some unknown time point has been the interest of many statisticians. But it was restricted to the constant hazard rates which correspond to the exponential distribution. In this paper we generalize the change-point model in which any specific functional forms of hazard rates are net assumed. The assumed model includes various types of changes before and after the unknown time point. The Nelson estimator of cumulative hazard function is introduced. We estimate the change-point maximizing slope changes of Nelson estimator. Consistency and asymptotic distribution of bootstrap estimator are obtained using the martingale theory. Through a Monte Carlo study we check the performance of the proposed method. We also explain the proposed method using the Stanford Heart Transplant Data set.

  • Wireless sensor networks will be broadly deployed in the real world and widely utilized for various applications. A prerequisite for secure communication among the sensor nodes is that the nodes should share a session key to bootstrap their trust relationship. The open problems are how to verify the identity of communicating nodes and how to minimize any information about the keys disclosed to the other side during key agreement. At any rate, any one of the existing schemes cannot perfectly solve these problems due to some drawbacks. Accordingly, we propose a new pre-distribution scheme with the following merits. First, it supports authentication services. Second, each node can only find some indices of key spaces that are shared with the other side, without revealing unshared key information. Lastly, it substantially improves resilience of network against node capture. Performance and security analyses have proven that our scheme is suitable for sensor networks in terms of performance and security aspects.
