Acute renal failure is the generic term for an abrupt and sustained decrease in renal function resulting in retention of nitrogenous and non nitrogenous waste product. This may results in life threatening consequences including volume overload, hyperkalemia, and metabolic acidosis. Acute renal failure is both common and carries high mortality rate, but as it is often preventable, identification of patients at risk and and appropriate management are crucial. This review summarized the most recent information on definition, epidemiology, clinical causes and management of acute renal failure in pediatric patients.

Seizures are a frequent symptom in metabolic disorders, although metabolic disorders are rarely found to be the cause of epilepsy. A precise diagnosis might not only influence treatment, but it might also call for counseling of the family, even if there are no direct therapeutic consequences. We review the main characteristics of epilepsy in metabolic disorders with regard to energy metabolism, toxic effects, neurotransmitters, and vitamins.

In this paper, we give descriptions that the choices made in the Knowledge modelling or representation in Computer Evironments can modify the meaning of this knowledge through a process similar to that of the didactical transpostion. Thus, they are likely to have effects on learning. These problems and phenomena are consequences of general constraints of computer and an algorithms built-in computers. Students may not learn the knowledge intended by teacher. Teacher is always on the alert for the changable mathematical knowledge in computer-based environments. It is an important role of teachers in new teaching and learning environment.

Plant Protection Systems(PPS) are those systems that initiate safety actions to mitigate the consequences of design basis events by sending signals to Reactor Trip Switch Gear System(RTSS) and Engineered Safety Features-Component Control Systems(ESF-CCS). This paper illustrates distinctive features and improved design concepts of Korea Next Generation Reactor(KNGR) based on the experience obtained through prototyping of PPS.

It is argued that conventional behavior of government, industry, and the public in managing the seas is dysfunctional and must change. Industry manipulation of government regulatory processes, the public complacency that allows it, and its consequences are discussed. Resolving this problem will reqire industry to embrace a code of environmental ideals such as the Coalition for Environmentally Responsible Economies(CERES) principles. A new emerging 'corporate environmentalism' is discussed.

This paper presents the current state of knowledge on molten material relocation into the lower plenum. Consequences of movement of material to the lower head are considered with regardt to the potential for reactor pressure vessel failure from both thermal hydraulic and mechanical standpoints. The models are applied to evaluating various in-vessel retention strategies for the Korean Standard power plant (KSNPP) reactor The results are summarized in terms of thermal response of the reactor vessel from the very relevant severe accident management perspective.

This paper reports the results of a study designed to understand and facilitate disaster mitigation for communities located in low frequency/high magnitude earthquake zones. The study is based on a small town located near the New Madrid Fault Zone and is therefore at significant earthquake risk. A system dynamics model describes the variables and policies governing the distribution of building safety over time. Data from this town is used to establish a 25-year baseline. Simulations are run to demonstrate the consequences of different building policies.

Heat treatment is essential for hygienic safety and for extending shelf-life of milk. Heating of milk affects principally its physicochemical, nutritional and organoleptic properties. The most important changes are the decrease in whey protein solubility and the decrease in stability of casein micelles. Maillard reactions are also important and undesirable consequences.

Korean Physicians encounter often the patients with cultural syndromes. This paper surveys those cultural syndromes in Korea, contrasted with those in other countries in five different domains; socio-cultural, sexual, psychological, psychosomatic and religio-spiritual. I discovered three natural consequences if not intervened; 1) healed and readjusted, 2) paradigmatically shifted for the better results and 3) mal-adjustment for the worse. In the hope to let the culture shifted toward better one, I propose to allow our Koreans to be educated, inspired by Park Wansoe's novel; 'Dreaming in an Incubator(꿈꾸는 인큐베이터)'.

This paper investigates some results (Theorems 2.1-2.3, below) concerning certain classes of analytic and univalent functions, involving the familiar fractional derivative operators. We state interesting consequences arising from the main results by mentioning the cases connected with the starlikeness, convexity, close-to-convexity and quasi-convexity of geometric function theory. Relevant connections with known results are also emphasized briefly.
