  • Due to have been more keen in East-North Asia Hub Port competition, to be accelerated Busan New Port development, and to result to supply excess position, Busan port has been confronted by many problems. Also, as facilities of North Port is old, it is impossible to secure 16m depth of water at North Port, and North Port redevelopment is being, container traffic of North Port is accelerated to shift at New Port. Therefore, it. is time to seek for connection growth plan of succeeding together-Busan North & New Port as soon as possible. Connection growth plan of succeeding together-Busan North & New Port is focused, as follows. It is valid to specialize for ULCC, to promote to global port at New Port, and it is effective to focus on feeder service and general cargo handling, and to include most space to North Port redevelopment. Second, through port function reorganization, it is required to create a synergy by port function clustering. Third, through effective connection traffic network expansion for moving T/S cargo effectively, it is required to develop Busan Port for T/S cargo-focused port. Fourth, it is required to develop port hinterland logistics zone for creating container traffic through connection development of New Port-BJFEZ. Finally, it is required to build SCM system for creating container traffic among shipper, carrier, freight forwarder and related institution.

  • The purpose of this paper is to suggest a plan on succeeding together-Busan New Port & BJFEZ(that is, port hinterland development). This study deals with the terms of three connection growth factors which are a firm's subjective factors, a industrial environment factors, and a governmental policy factors. According to analysis results of the factors, a firm's subjective factors(4.11 score) are scored the most ones of connection growth factors of Busan New Port & BJFEZ, to be compared with a governmental policy factors(4.01 score). with a industrial environment factors(3.92 score). Therefore, first of all, Busan New Port & BJFEZ have to promote connection growth through as follows, a firm's subjective factors : (1) to procure competitiveness through establishment of connection growth model, (2) to promote concentrated marketing strategy & market response ability, (3) speedy meeting to customer's needs, (4) to procure reliability of Busan New Port & BJFEZ. And, the next, Busan New Port & BJFEZ have to promote connection growth through considering a governmental policy factors, a industrial environment factors.

  • The aim of this paper is to draw out the connection strategies between port and city functions. The case study was made on the port city of Incheon using Multidimensional Statistics(MDS) which groups 18 port cities targeted into two or more categories. The used factors inserted into the methodology were container cargo volumes, population, area of the city, number of liner calling, Relative Concentration Index(RCI). As results, Yokohama was identified as the best port city which can possibly give the meaningful guideline to Incheon port. The port-city is superior to that of Incheon in the area of port hinterland and varieties of business models. The port-city also has consistent policies on improvement of port and city functions.

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the competitiveness between Busan New Port and Shanghai's New Yangshan Port, on an island 20 miles off the Chinese mainland coast. For this aim, the paper examines backgrounds of Yangshan Port construction and its related projects, namely, Donghai Bridge and Luchao Logistics Park including operation strategies of Yangshan New Deepwater Port. The main results of this paper are as follows: Busan New Port has competitive advantage over Yangshan Port in terms of ideal location, especially in Asia-North America route, and connection between terminal and hinterland logistics park. Because Busan New Port is operated by fully on-dock system. Nevertheless, Yangshan Port has more strength in its centrality, port tariff and port productivity, which are represented by crane productivity, quay productivity and area productivity. Therefore, Korean ports are recommended by transformation from cargo attraction-type to cargo generation-type port through early activation of port logistics center along with Free Economic Zone.

  • The purpose of this paper is to measure jitter between two server systems. Given 3 empirical models as user and port parallel server types under some conditions of 100 Mbps and optimal CPU temperature suggested by Lee and Kim(2005), our results are shown; jitter was usually measured above 3000 ms in most empirical cases, jumping points were observed around 250 processing traffics, and port parallel model was optimal in our cases.
