The Development of Meta-Information System for Microbial Genome Resources (미생물 게놈자원을 위한 메타정보 시스템의 개발)

  • There are currently about 6000 bacterial species with validly published names, but scientists assume that these may be less than 1% of bacterial species present on the earth. Microbial resource is one of the most important bioresources in bioinderstry and provides us with high economic values. To find missing ones, the studies of metagenome, metabolome, and proteome about microbes have started recently in developed countries. We construct the information system that integrates information on microbial genome resources and manages the information to support efficient research of microbial genome application, and name this system 'Bio-Meta Information System (Bio-MIS)'. Bio-MIS consists of integrated microbial genome resources database, microbial genome resources input system, integrated microbial genome resources search engine, microbial resources on-line distribution system, portal service and management via internet. In the future, we will include public database connection and implement useful bioinformatics software for analyzing microbial genome resources. A Branch-and-price Approach to the ATM Switching Node Location Problem

  • We consider the ATM switching node location problem (ANLP). In this problem, there are two kinds of facilities, hub facilities and remote facilities, with different capacities and installation costs. We are given a set of customers with each demand requirements, a set of candidate installation sites of facilities, and connection costs between facilities. We need to determine the locations to place facilities, the number of facilities for each selected location, the set of customers who are connected to each installed hub via installed remote facilities with minimum cost, while satisfying demand requirements of each customer. We formulate this problem as a general integer programming problem and solve it to optimality. In this paper, we present a preprocessing procedure to tighten the formulation and develop a branch-and-price algorithm. In the algorithm, we consider the integer knapsack problem as the column generation problem. Computational experiments show that the algorithm gives optimal solutions in a reasonable time.

  • This study attempts to integrate causal model with competitiveness evaluation model, both of which have developed independently of each other, in connection with many studies on PMES (performance measurement and evaluation system) including the BSC (balanced scorecard) of Kaplan and Norton (1992, 1996). For this attempt, this study is composed of four analyses : First, this study develops a structural model for evaluating and diagnosing corporate ‘comprehensive’ competitiveness including quality competitiveness, derive CCI (comprehensive competitiveness index) and QCI (quality competitiveness index) ; Second, this study analyzes the determinants of quality competitiveness, the impacts of quality competitiveness, on product design and product reliability, and the impacts of product design and product reliability on quality competitiveness in the comprehensive competitiveness evaluation model of this study. Third, this study empirically identifies the positioning of product design in the quality competitiveness evaluation model of this study and the functional relationship between product design and other functions : product development, manufacturing, marketing, and marketing, and sales in the same comprehensive competitiveness evaluation model, estimate the determinants of product design and its impacts, thereby providing some empirical findings for the foundation of design management theory, and Fourth, this study identifies the positioning of product reliability in the same quality competitiveness evaluation model, estimate the reliability function and the functional relationship between product reliability and other dimensions of product quality, and tests the hypotheses on the causality of product reliability.

Assessment and Management Method of Flicker Emission Level Based on IEC 61000-3-7 for Domestic Extra-high Voltage Customers (국내 특고압 고객에 대한 IEC 61000-3-7 기반의 플리커 방출한계 평가 및 관리 방안 연구)

  • IEC 61000-3-7 provides guidance for limiting flicker and enabling the connection of fluctuating load installations, that is, producing flicker in MV, HV and EHV power systems. In Korea, the flicker have been restricted by Japanese standard of ${\Delta}V_{10}$ method. ${\Delta}V_{10}$ was developed only for arc furnaces in 1960's. And now it is revealed that it is not suitable for application to other fluctuating load installations through many researches. $P_{st}$ which is a flicker index used in IEC 61000-3-7, indicates visual inconvenience due to voltage fluctuation across large range of frequency and can be applied to fluctuating load installations as well as arc furnaces. In this paper, we introduce how to calculate and assess flicker emission level for the individual fluctuating load installations connected in EHV system and how to manage the emission levels in the power system according to IEC 61000-3-7.

  • In this paper, a telematics service platform, which supports the management and diagnosis of automobile and controls the automobile's convenience equipment is designed and implemented. Using the service platform, telematics software can be developed independent of the lower part of automobiles's network devices, each hardware devices, and wireless network devices. The platform classifies each device's service and provides it with the fixed form of API(Application Programming Interface). This API consists of the wireless connection for a mobile device, the CAN network for controlling an automobile, the receiving part of GPS data for location base service, and the message parser for different data formats of different network.

  • This paper describes not only the complexities of LNG business including shipping sector but also its own current environmental changes. Furthermore, system dynamics (VENSIM analysis) as a methodology is introduced to analyze the potential LNG shipping market in the future. As a result of the VENSIM analysis, potentiality of the spot LNG shipping market is systematically established in connection with embodiment of the spot LNG market. This paper suggests three methods, which are centered on newbuildings of ships, for the shippers to prepare for the spot LNG shipping market on the basis that maritime economics can make a direct contribution to the shippers' business decision-making.

  • In sensor network, cluster based routing protocol about efficient energy usage method has researched variously. But existing cluster based routing protocol have problems. one of the problem is sensor nodes's imbalance energy consumption problem at cluster reconstruction. anther is non- connection problem between header node and spc node when they are far from each other, not properly connected. We propose cluster re-division and header node of multihop transmission method in this paper. The cluster re-division method is the method that re-divides existing routing protocol with the small-scale cluster and multihop transmission method is the method regarding the relay transmission between the header nodes. Through the simulation, the proposed routing mechanism shows more excellent than exiting routing protocol in balance energy consumption and energy efficiency.

  • In this system, mobile devices are not independent, they can communicate with each other, one device's change can affect the whole system or other devices. To achieve the above mentioned A Self-Reconfigurable System of Contents, through discover the device and connect process, to establish the connection between the mobile devices. After user assigns two dimension display type, the user can select content to input the system, contents are portioning and broadcast to devices. The system can self-reconfigure contents rapidly and exactly. This technique supports contents self-reconfiguration for devices remove, addition and position exchange. In this paper, when the user uses the hand contacts device, the device sends a signal to assist the system to detection device's position. The system does not need to get accurate devices moving direction, just according to all changed devices position to judge where the devices destination is. This research develops an application according to this technique, and the real machine tests the application using Android platform. Some communication protocols and mathematical modeling methods are proposed. These methods can also be used in other Internet of Things (IoT) fields, such as Drones Navigation, Smart Home, and Informational City management.

  • In this paper, we propose a Load Balance System for SFC based on DLP solution. SFC based on DLP solution does not distribute to the user data and each DLP server manages all traffic generated by the user device. When using existing algorithms such as the Load Balance Round Robin, Least Connection does not consider the resource usage of DLP server so traffic is not efficiently distributed due to different user traffic usage. It causes system failure and overload of the DLP server. Therefore, we propose the architecture of a Load Balance system for SFC based on DLP solution to perform the Load Balance based on the resource usage of DLP server through a LBM server in this paper.

A Fair Scalable Inter-Domain TCP Marker for Multiple Domain DiffServ Networks

  • The differentiated services (DiffServ) is proposed to provide packet level service differentiations in a scalable manner. To provide an end-to-end service differentiation to users having a connection over multiple domains, as well as a flow marker, an intermediate marker is necessary at the edge routers, and it should not be operated at a flow level due to a scalability problem. Due to this operation requirement, the intermediate marker has a fairness problem among the transmission control protocol (TCP) flows since TCP flows have intrinsically unfair throughputs due to the TCP's congestion control algorithm. Moreover, it is very difficult to resolve this problem without individual flow state information such as round trip time (RTT) and sending rate of each flow. In this paper, to resolve this TCP fairness problem of an intermediate marker, we propose a fair scalable marker (FSM) as an intermediate marker which works with a source flow three color marker (sf-TCM) operating as a host source marker. The proposed fair scalable marker improves the fairness among the TCP flows with different RTTs without per-flow management. Through the simulations, we show that the FSM can improve TCP fairness as well as link utilization in multiple domain DiffServ networks.
