  • Though many corporations are operating their logistics information systems, standard document forms for the connection of logistics information systems between transaction companies are not provided. Therefore, the standardized logistics information connection is needed for the efficient management. In this study, we Provide a prototype for logistics information systems connection by using e-mail which contains RFID and product information. This study could be a basis for logistics information system connection with the advance of RFID.

  • In a railway bridge, the CRTS II slab ballastless track is subjected to interlayer connection failures, such as void under slab, mortar debonding, and fastener fracture. This study investigates the influences of interlayer connection failure on the safe operation of high-speed trains. First, a train-track-bridge coupled vibration model and a bridge-track deformation model are established to study the running safety of a train passing a deformed bridge with interlayer connection failure. For each type of the interlayer connection failure, the effects of the failure locations and ranges on the track irregularity are studied using the deformation model. Under additional bridge deformation, the effects of interlayer connection failure on the dynamic responses of the train are investigated by using the track irregularity as the excitation to the vibration model. Finally, parametric studies are conducted to determine the thresholds of additional bridge deformations considering interlayer connection failure. Results show that the interlayer connection failure significantly affects the running safety of high-speed train and must be considered in determining the safety thresholds of additional bridge deformation in the asset management of high-speed railway bridges.

  • Optical burst switching (OBS) overcomes the inefficient resource usage of optical circuit switching and minimizes the optical buffering requirement of optical packet switching. General switch management protocol (GSMP) is an open interface between a label switch and a controller, and it provides connection, configuration, performance, event management and synchronization. GSMP open interface in the OBS network allows the implementation of OBS switch to be simple by separating the data forward plane from the control plane. We defined managed objects to support connection, configuration, performance, and fault management for the management of OBS network in the GSMP open interface. We proposed the network management model, in which the above managed objects are distributed in a controller and an OBS switch according to network management functions. We verified the possibility of connection management using distributed network management model in the GSMP open interface of OBS network by implementing GSMP and network management functions with managed objects of OBS.

  • The purpose of this study was to assess the implications for Daejeon's business management by analyzing the impact on the management performance of human solidarity among CEOs of small and medium venture companies in Daejeon. From 20th March to 20th May 2018, 212 questionnaires were collected from CEOs of small and medium-sized venture companies in Daejeon for this study and verified using the SPSS statistics Analysis Program. As a result, the study confirmed that the "work" and "school" connection factors have positive effects on securing government projects, improving business management, acquiring the necessary information for business growth, and securing competitiveness in 4th industrial revolution era. On the other hand, the "Region or Kin-group" connection factor does not affect the management performance. The following implications were derived fromthese studies on sustainable growth and development of business in Daejeon. First, it requires a higher level of the CEO solidarity. Second, efforts aimed at building mutual trust among CEOs in Daejeon are needed to develop close relationships and strong connections. Third, each operating association established in Daejeon needs to develop various programs for building relationships among CEOs and operate programs to increase the chances of contact.

  • On social media, companies create brand experiences while customers actively seek, consume, and generate brand-related content. Customer engagement plays a vital role in the marketing performance of social media-driven brands. This study explores the positive relationship between brand authenticity, aligning brand identity with image, and self-brand connection, aligning brand identity with consumers' self-concepts, on customer engagement and its subsequent impact on brand loyalty. The study surveyed 243 consumers engaged with brand-related social media content, validating hypotheses using structural equation modeling. Results confirmed that brand authenticity and self-brand connection positively affect customer engagement, which, in turn, boosts brand loyalty. These findings highlight the importance of companies enhancing brand authenticity and self-brand connection to drive customer engagement, with theoretical and practical implications provided.

  • This paper considers the efficient design of routing path and wavelength assignment in the single-hop WDM optical transport networks. The connection demands between node-pairs are given and a connection between a pair of nodes must be made by only one lightpath. It is assumed that no wavelength conversion is allowed and the physical topology of the network and the number of available wavelengths of a physical link are also given. This paper proposes the method to route a path and assign a wavelength to the path, which guarantees fairness to every node pair. In order to guarantee fairness and maximize connections, an optimization model is established, which successively maximizes minimum connection ratio to the demand of each node pair. A heuristic algorithm with polynomial iterations is developed for the problem since the problem is NP-hard. The heuristic algorithm is implemented and applied to the networks with real problem sizes. The results of the application are compared with GAMS/OSL.

  • Transport Control Protocol (TCP) has been implemented in software running on CPU in end systems, and the protocol processing has appeared as a new bottleneck due to advanced link technology. TCP processing is a critical issue in Storage Area Network (SAN) such as iSCSL, and the overall performance of the Storage Area Network heavily depends on speed of TCP processing. TCP Engine implemented in hardware reduces the load of CPU in end systems as well as accelerates the protocol processing, and hence high speed data processing is achieved. In this paper, we have proposed a hardware engine for TCP processing. TCP engine consists of three major block, TCP Connection block Rx TCP block and Tx TCP block TCP Connection block is responsible for managing TCP connection states. Rx TCP block is responsible for receive flow which receives packets from network and sends to CPU. Rx TCP performs header and data processing and sends header information to TCP connection block and Tx TCP block It also assembles out-of-ordered data to in-ordered before it transfers data to CPU. Tx TCP block is responsible for transmit flow which transfers data from CPU to network. Tx TCP performs retransmission for reliable data transfer and management of transmit window and sequence number. Various test-cases are used to verify the TCP functions. The TCP Engine is synthesized using 0.18 micron technology and results in 51K gates not including buffers for temporal data storage.

  • As the use of smart devices has become popular, the number of smart devices connected to network has increased and the amount of traffic from them has grown rapidly. The management of mobile traffic and IP address for smart devices in an enterprise network is crucial problem for efficient operation of network. The information about connection type of a terminal host to the network will be very useful for stable and efficient management of an enterprise network. Also, this information might be used to identify NAT device. In this paper, we propose a methodology to identify the connection type of a terminal host using RTT (Round-Trip-Time) value extracted from captured packets. We prove the feasibility of our proposed method in a target campus network.
