네트워크 이동성을 위한 자원 관리 구조의 설계와 분석 (Design and Analysis of Resource Management Architecture for Network Mobility)

  • 이동 네트워크는 네트워크 단위로 이동하는 구조로서, 이동 라우터에 연결된 이동 노드들의 이동을 통합하여 관리한다. 이동 네트워크 내의 노드들은 이동 라우터를 통하여 인터넷과 무선 연결되며, 모든 통신이 이동 라우터를 거쳐서 이루어지므로, 이동 라우터에서의 대역폭 관리 및 신뢰성 제공이 중요하다. 또한 이동 네트워크는 이동한다는 본질적 특성에 의하여 내부의 모든 노드들에 대한 위치 관리 및 이에 따른 전력 소비 관리를 필요로 한다. 본 논문에서는 자동차나 기차와 같은 운송체에 구성되는 이동 네트워크에서의 전력 및 대역폭 자원을 효율적으로 관리하기 위한 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 기법은 이동 네트워크가 구성되는 운송체와 승객의 이동 특성을 이용하여, 불필요한 위치 관리 신호를 생략함으로써 전력을 절약한다. 또한 다중 이동 라우터를 이용한 멀티호밍기법에 의하여 대역폭 자원을 관리한다. 제안한 전력 관리 기법을 수학적으로 분석한 결과는 정지 상태의 이동기기 뿐 아니라 활성 상태의 이동 기기 전력도 현저하게 절약할 수 있음을 보인다. 제안한 다중 이동 라우터 선택 기법에 대한 시뮬레이션 결과는, 이 기법이 기존의 단순 라우터 중복 구조에 비하여 무선 대역폭 자원을 효율적으로 활용함을 보여준다.

  • High performance digital computer technology enables the digital computer-based controllers to replace traditional analog controllers used for factory automations. This replacement, however, brings up the side effects caused by discrete quantization and non-real-time execution of control softwares. This paper describes the structure of real-time simulator and controller that can be used for design and verification of real-time digital controllers. The virtual machine concept adopted by real-time simulator make the proposed simulator be independent from the specific hardware platforms. The proposed system can also be used in the loosely coupled distributed environments connected through local area network using real-time message passing algorithm and virtual data table based on the shared memory mechanism.

  • There is a rapid increase of child care centers due to the growth of women's social activities and a nuclear family. Child care center is an important part of community facilities for apartment housing complex. This study aims to collect the basic data required to develop the planning standards for the child care centers. This research limited the child care centers which is situated to permanent rental housing complex. Therefore, this research presents the basic design guidelines for the space composition planning of child care centers by grasping the special quality connected with the space composition of child care centers among the community facilities that is located in the permanent rental apartment housing complex.

  • Many real-world problems are concerned with estimation rather than classification. This paper presents an adaptive technique to estimate the mechanical properties of materials from acoustoultrasonic waveforms. This is done by adapting a piece-wise linear approximation technique to a multi-layered neural network architecture. The piece-wise linear approximation network (PWLAN) finds a set of connected hyperplanes that fit all input vectors as close as possible. A corresponding architecture requires only one hidden layer to estimate any curve as an output pattern. A learning rule for PWLAN is developed and applied to the acousto-ultrasonic data. The efficiency of the PWLAN is compared with that of classical backpropagation network which uses generalized delta rule as a learning algorithm.

사건과 건축공간의 관계성 비교 연구 (Comparative Study of Interrelationship between Events and Architectural Space)

  • An event as philosophical thought is expanded throughout our society and affected largely an architectural field as well as aesthetics. Paying attention to this fact, this study is to relate the event to an architectural space and to find an interrelationship between them. Since Martin Heidegger who started to be regarded the event as a subject of thought, many philosophers revealed different thoughts about it. Architecture works of Louis I. Kahn, Peter Zumthor, Steven Holl, Bernard Tschumi, Rem Koolhaas who had the influences from the thoughts of Martin Heidegger, M. Merleau-Ponty, Jacques Derrida, Gilles Deleuze, are analyzed and compared their features. The reason why this relationship has become the subject of research is because the event can be confirmed to be connected with an architectural thoughts by correlating with aesthetic texts. Throughout this study, each architect, who is affected from philosophers, has different characters as they have different thoughts about events. This study is expected to be used as an literature data of intertextuality of philosophy and architecture.

Cyclic loading tests for precast concrete cantilever walls with C-type connections

  • This study investigates the behavior of precast concrete cantilever wall systems with new vertical connections under cyclic loading. C-type steel connections for PC wall systems are proposed for the transfer of bending moments between walls in the vertical direction, whereas a shear key in the center of the wall is prepared to transfer shear forces by bearing pressure. The proposed connections are assembled easily because the directions of the slots are different at the edges of the walls. Structural performance characteristics such as the strength, ductility, and failure modes of test specimens were investigated. The longitudinal reinforcing steel bars, which are connected to the C-type connections, yielded first. Ultimate deformation was terminated owing to premature failure of the connections. The strength and deformation obtained from the cross-sectional analysis were generally similar to experimental data.

SliM 이미지 프로세서 칩 설계 및 구현 (Design and implementation of the SliM image processor chip)

  • The SliM (sliding memory plane) array processor has been proposed to alleviate disadvantages of existing mesh-connected SIMD(single instruction stream- multiple data streams) array processors, such as the inter-PE(processing element) communication overhead, the data I/O overhead and complicated interconnections. This paper presents the deisgn and implementation of SliM image processor ASIC (application specific integrated circuit) chip consisting of mesh connected 5 X 5 PE. The PE architecture implemented here is quite different from the originally proposed PE. We have performed the front-end design, such as VHDL (VHSIC hardware description language)modeling, logic synthesis and simulation, and have doen the back-end design procedure. The SliM ASIC chip used the VTI 0.8$\mu$m standard cell library (v8r4.4) has 55,255 gates and twenty-five 128 X 9 bit SRAM modules. The chip has the 326.71 X 313.24mil$^{2}$ die size and is packed using the 144 pin MQFP. The chip operates perfectly at 25 MHz and gives 625 MIPS. For performance evaluation, we developed parallel algorithms and the performance results showed improvement compared with existing image processors.

시스톨릭 어레이에 기반한 SADCT의 효율적 VLSl 구조설계 (Design of an Efficient VLSI Architecture of SADCT Based on Systolic Array)

  • 본 논문에서는 시스톨릭 어레이에 기반한 모양 적응적 이산 여현 변환(SADCT)의 효율적 VLSI 구조를 제안한다. 모양 적응적 이산 여현 변환은 이산 여현 변환과 달리 변환 크기가 각 블록에서의 객체의 모양에 따라 가변적이므로 기존의 시간 순환구조에서는 각 처리소자의 이용도와 처리속도가 모두 저하된다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 단점을 극복하기 위해 메모리를 필요로 하지 않는 시스톨릭 어레이에 기반한 구조를 제안한다. 제안된 구조에서는 1차원 SADCT를 연속적으로 수행함으로 처리속도를 향상시키고 첫 번째 열의 처리소자들을 마지막 열의 처리소자들과 연결하고, 입력 데이터는 각각의 재배열된 블록에서의 최대 데이터 크기에 따라 각 열에 병렬로 입력하여 처리소자의 이용도를 향상시켰다. 제안된 구조는 VHDL로 기술하고 MentorTM를 이용하여 기능검증을 수행하였다. 검증결과, 하드웨어 복잡도가 다소 증가하나, 처리속도는 기존의 방법에 비해 두 배정도 향상되었다.

IoT 기반 지능형 수위 모니터링 플랫폼 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of IoT-Based Intelligent Platform for Water Level Monitoring)

  • The main objective of this study was to assess the applicability of IoT (Internet of Things)-based flood management under climate change by developing intelligent water level monitoring platform based on IoT. In this study, Arduino Uno was selected as the development board, which is an open-source electronic platform. Arduino Uno was designed to connect the ultrasonic sensor, temperature sensor, and data logger shield for implementing IoT. Arduino IDE (Integrated Development Environment) was selected as the Arduino software and used to develop the intelligent algorithm to measure and calibrate the real-time water level automatically. The intelligent water level monitoring platform consists of water level measurement, temperature calibration, data calibration, stage-discharge relationship, and data logger algorithms. Water level measurement and temperature calibration algorithm corrected the bias inherent in the ultrasonic sensor. Data calibration algorithm analyzed and corrected the outliers during the measurement process. The verification of the intelligent water level measurement algorithm was performed by comparing water levels using the tape and ultrasonic sensor, which was generated by measuring water levels at regular intervals up to the maximum level. The statistics of the slope of the regression line and $R^2$ were 1.00 and 0.99, respectively which were considered acceptable. The error was 0.0575 cm. The verification of data calibration algorithm was performed by analyzing water levels containing all error codes in a time series graph. The intelligent platform developed in this study may contribute to the public IoT service, which is applicable to intelligent flood management under climate change.

사물 인터넷 환경에서 비동기 센싱 데이터 수집 및 처리 메커니즘 (Asynchronous Sensing Data Aggregation and Processing Mechanism for Internet of Things Environment)

  • Internet of Things(IoT) 시대에 우리 생활 주변의 많은 사물 또는 객체가 인터넷상에서 연관될 수 있다. IoT 시스템의 구축을 위해서는 다양한 네트워크로 연결된 센서 및 계측장치를 갖는 사물을 통해 IoT 환경의 센싱 데이터를 획득하고 수집을 위한 컴포넌트 개발이 필요하다. 이러한 IoT 시스템은 다양한 형태로 분산되며, 추가적으로 이러한 시스템의 효율적인 관리를 위해서는 애플리케이션 간의 자료전달을 위한 요구사항으로 상호운영성을 만족해야 한다. 이 논문에서는 비동기 기반 메시징 시스템을 기반으로 한 IoT 시스템의 참조 아키텍처를 설계한다. 참조 아키텍처는 IoT 시스템을 설계과정에서 사용한다. 여기서는 참조 아키텍처의 적용을 위한 실시간 특성의 데이터 스트림 관리 방법을 논의한다. 그리고 이들 데이터의 생산 및 소비를 위한 파이프-필터 기반 프로토타입을 pub/sub 메시징 시스템인 NaradaBrokering을 활용하여 구성하는 방법을 논의한다.
