  • This system can detect a ground fault point or a bad insulated line by measuring a power plant DC feeder insulation resistance at the uninterruptible power status. And when the power plant DC feeder with low frequency AC signal has a ground fault, this measuring system can keep recording of its ground fault current and phase checked by Z.C.T. Therefore the power plant could protect a unexpected service interruption.

  • An experiment on bubble-driven flow was performed in order to understand fundamental knowledge of flow structure around a rising bubble in a stagnant fluid. The measurement technique consists of a combination of the three most often used PIV techniques in multiphase flows: PIV with fluorescent tracer particles, the digital phase separation with a masking technique and a shadowgraphy. The key point of the measurement is that the background intensity of a PIV recording can be shifted to a higher level than a bubble region using a shadowgraphy in order to distinguish from fluorescent particles and a bubble as well. Flow fields were measured without an inaccurate analysis around a fluid-bubble interface by using only one camera simply.

  • This event recorder system, owing to the advancement of communication technology, is independently installed in most on-board electronics and given integrated management by on-board monitoring equipments. However, since the safety oriented equipments such as signalling devices, train protection systems, and train radios have been mounted on trains recently" the existing on-board monitoring device is no longer reliable enough for permanent preservation of data from train crashes or fires. This study has pointed out the problems mentioned above and described the designing concept of the fault recording system for high-speed trains for effective utilization of the train management program.

  • In exocrine acinar cells, $Ca^{2+}$ -activated Cl$^{[-10]}$ channels in the apical membrane are essential for fluid secretion, but it is unclear whether such channels are important for Cl$^{[-10]}$ uptake at the base. Whole cell current recording, combined with local uncaging of caged $Ca^{2+}$, was used to reveal the Cl$^{[-10]}$ channel distribution in mouse pancreatic acinar cells, where ~90% of the current activated by $Ca^{2+}$ in response toacetylcholine was carried by Cl$^{[-10]}$ .(omitted)

  • CoCrPt alloy films are attracting wide attention for applications to high-density magnetic recording media and hard magnetic layer in spin valve structure due to their high coercivity and strong magnetocrystalline anisotropy. Diblock copolymer templates are one of the most promising candidates for nanoscale patterning otherwise inaccessible by lithographic procedures [1]. In this study, we have investigated magnetic properties of Co$\sub$68/Cr$\sub$18/Pt$\sub$14/ nanodot arrays made by self-assembling polystyrene-block-methyl methacrylate ((PS-b-PMMA), (Mn = 82.5 Kg/mol, with a 1.12 polydispersity)) diblock copolymer.   • The present paper proposes the method which improves a record and remaking efficiency of the optical pickup as applying the mirror where Phase Shift(PS) principle is applied to optical pickup. Plan to get a circularly polarized light quality above quality which is embodied through Existing Quater Wave Plate(QWP) and a function of total reflection mirror as applying PS mirror which integrates QWP with the function of the total reflection to optical pickup. In the present paper, embody circularly polarized light quality through applying PS mirror to optical pickup, and it through, plan to propose to come true the optimization of recording and remaking CD/DVD disc.

  • Inactivation of N-type calcium current has been reported to be voltage dependent (Jones & Marks, 1989) and $Ca^{2+}$ dependent(Cox & Dunlap, 1994). We examined inactivation by recording currents from the same cell both in [B $a^{2+}$]$_{o}$ and [C $a^{2+}$]$_{o}$ in rat sympathetic neurons. With 11 mM internal EGTA, fractional inactivation[l-(current amplitude at the end of 5 sec pulse/peak current amplitude [1-(current amplitude at the end of 5 sec pulse/peak current amplitude)] was larger in $Ca^{2+}$(0.80$\pm$0.07) than in $Ba^{2+}$(0.69$\pm$0.10)(n=31, p<0.001), but the current traces were nicely fitted with two exponential components both in $Ba^{2+}$ and $Ca^{2+}$.(omitted)ted)ted)
