SPD의 설치조건이 보호효과에 미치는 영향 (Protection Effects Associated with Installation Conditions of SPD)

  • This paper presents the protection effect of SPDs according to installation conditions. To develop the effective protection countermeasures of information and communication equipments against lightning surges, actual-sized experiments in relation to the protection effects on the installation positions of surge protective devices(SPDs), the length of branch circuit the materials and long of conduit were conducted. The best method for protecting the electronic equipments from surges is to install the SPD at the front point of the devices to be protected. The installation method of the metal conduit bonded with common ground conductor were more effective than that of the PVC conduit.

CIC 초전도 도체의 안정성 (Stability of the Cable-in-Conduit Conductors)

  • A Quench in cable-in-conduit (CIC) conductors is often initiated by a disturbance such as strand motion that generates a highly localized normal zone in a strand or a few strands of the CIC conductors. The localized normal zone causes current and heat transfer between a disturbed strand and neighboring strands. Electrical and thermal contact characteristics between strands thus have an effect on the transient stability of the CIC conductors. In this paper the effect of contact characteristics between strands on the CIC conductor stability is presented based on the measured heat transfer characteristics of supercritical helium (SHe) for the local heating. The quench and recovery processes of the strands for the abrupt and highly localized disturbance are analyzed at the boundary between quench and recovery.

Successful Management of a Tracheo-gastric Conduit Fistula after a Three-field Esophagectomy with Combined Sternocleidomastoid Muscle Rotation Flap and Histoacryl Injection Treatment

  • Tracheo-gastric conduit fistula is an extremely rare but severe complication that is difficult to manage. Conservative care, esophageal or tracheal stent placement, or cutaneomuscular flaps have been suggested; however, no definite treatment has been proven. We report a case of tracheo-gastric conduit fistula that occurred after a minimally invasive radical three-field esophagectomy. Following the primary surgery, the diagnosis was made while evaluating the patient's frequent aspiration and coughing. Conservative management failed, and a surgical correction was undertaken to identify the multifocal mucosal defect and exposed tracheal ring. A sternocleidomastoid muscle rotation flap and subsequent Histoacryl injection into the remaining fistula were performed, and the fistula was successfully managed.

엔트로피 개념을 이용한 관수로내의 유속분포에 관한 연구 (A Study on The Velocity Distribution in Closed Conduit by Using The Entropy Concept)

  • 일반적으로 사용되는 관수로의 평균유속을 구하려면 Darcy-Weisbach의 마찰손실수두공식을 사용하면 되나, 그러나 이 식의 마찰손실계수 f는 Reynolds수와 상대조도(${\varepsilon}$/d)의 함수이므로 사용하기에 매우 불편하며 따라서 보다 편리한 식이 요구된다. 이에 본 연구에서 Chiu 유속공식의 신뢰성과 정확성을 증명하기 위하여 관수로에서 비삽입식 유속측정 장치인 레이저 유속계(Laser Doppler Velocimeter: LDV) 및 초음파 유량계(Ultrasonic Flowmeter: U/F), 삽입식 유속측정장치인 피토관 (Pitot Tube)을 이용하여 실측한 유속측정 자료와 Chiu의 공식을 이용한 유속분포가 매우 잘 일치함을 증명하였다. 유량의 증감에 관계없이 실험실 수로에서의 최대유속과 평균유속간의 이론적인 선형관계를 증명함으로써 관수로내 유속의 평형상태, 즉 엔트로피 파라미터 M값에 대응하는 평형상태에 도달하려 하고 이 평형상태를 지속적으로 유지하려고 하는 경향이 있음을 증명하였다. 또한, 한 단면을 대표하는 엔트로피 파라미터 M값이 결정되면 최대유속이 발생하는 지점에서의 유속 측정만으로 단면 전체의 평균유속을 쉽게 구할 수 있고 이로부터 간단히 유량을 산정할 수 있음을 증명하였으며, 이는 추후 관수로 설계 및 운영관리 시 가장 중요한 평균유량을 측정할 수 있는 이론적인 도구로 사용될 수 있음을 의미하는 것이다.

  • The extracorporeal anastomosis technique for video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) intrathoracic esophagogastric anastomosis is a convenient, easy technique to use in VATS esophagectomy. The surgeon can assess the viability and the status of the gastric conduit, and the introduction of a circular stapler can be easily done under direct vision extracorporeally, enabling easy and simple VATS intrathoracic anastomosis between the esophagus and the gastric conduit.

Nafamostat Mesilate: Can It Be Used as a Conduit Preserving Agent in Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery?

  • Background: Graft vessel preservation solution in coronary artery bypass surgery is used to maintain the graft conduit in optimal condition during the perioperative period. Nafamostat mesilate (NM) has anticoagulation and anti-inflammatory properties. Therefore, we investigated NM as a conduit preservative agent and compared it to papaverine. Methods: Sprague-Dawley (SD) rat thoracic aortas were examined for their contraction-relaxation ability using phenylephrine (PE) and acetylcholine (ACh) following preincubation with papaverine and NM in standard classical organ baths. Human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) were cultured to check for the endothelial cell viability. Histopathological examination and terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling assay were performed on the thoracic aortas of SD rats. Results: The anti-contraction effects of papaverine were superior to those of NM at PE (p<0.05). The relaxation effect of NM on ACh-induced vasodilatation was not statistically different from that of papaverine. Viability assays using HUVECs showed endothelial cell survival rates of >90% in various concentrations of both NM and papaverine. A histopathological study showed a protective effect against necrosis and apoptosis (p<0.05) in the NM group. Conclusion: NM exhibited good vascular relaxation and a reasonable anti-vasocontraction effect with a better cell protecting effect than papaverine; therefore, we concluded that NM is a good potential conduit preserving agent.

외부하중에 의한 지중 매설관의 변형거동 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Deformation Behavior of the Underground Pipe under the External Load)

  • 다양한 환경의 지반 속에 매설되어 있는 지하 매설관은 지반과 외부 하중의 종류 뿐만 아니라 하중 작용시간, 작용조건 등에 따라 다양한 거동특성을 보인다. 또한 같은 지역 내에서도 환경조건이 다르기 때문에 현재의 이론적 해석방법으로는 매설관의 응력상태나 거동상태를 정확히 예측하는 데는 현실적으로 많은 어려움이 따른다. 특히 예측치 않은 하중발생 상황이나 차량 및 열차 하중에 대한 매설관의 영향 평가는 국내의 경우 아직 미진한 상황이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 대형토조실험과 수치해석을 통하여 매설깊이에 대한 영향 평가, 지반 교란의 영향 평가를 실시하였다. 또한 열차하중과 같은 동적하중에 대한 매설관의 영향 평가를 위하여 수치해석을 통해 열차이동하중에 대한 영향 평가를 수행하였다.

폐콘크리트 재생잔골재의 하수관거 모래기초 적용에 따른 침하 거동 (Settlement of Fine Recycled-concrete Aggregates Foundation under Sewage Conduit System)

  • 본 연구에서는 일반(천연)모래를 대체하여 폐콘크리트 재생잔골재(이하 재생모래)를 하수관거 모래기초용 재료로 활용하였을 경우 재생모래의 지반적 거동(침하)에 대한 다양한 적용성 평가를 실시하였다. 이를 위해 상대적 재료 특성 차이에 따른 침하량 전산모사(FLAC 사용)를 실시하였으며 실내 재하 실험을 통한 즉시침하 평가, 우수에 의해 예상되는 재료특성 변화를 살펴본 후 실규모급 현장 적용성 평가를 실시하였다. 그 결과 FLAC으로 예측된 재생모래기초의 침하량은 $5.0{\times}10^{-6}\;m$ 미만이었으며, 실내 침하실험에서는 침하가 발생되지 않았다. 또한 용출에 인한 재료특성(흡수율 등) 변화 역시 미미하였다. 마지막으로 실규모급 현장 시공의 침하 모니터링 결과, 원지반의 압밀침하로 예상되는 5 mm의 침하만이 발생하였다. 이를 통해서 재생모래의 하수관 모래기초 적용성은 충분한 타당성을 가지는 것으로 판단된다.

말초신경 결손시 신경도관으로서 Gore-Tex® 도관의 유용성 (The Availability of Gore-Tex® Tube as Nerve Conduit at the Peripheral Nerve Defect)

  • When a large peripheral nerve defect occurs, an autologous nerve graft is the most ideal method of recinstruction. But an autologous nerve graft has many limitations due to donor site morbidities. Many previous focused on finding the ideal nerve conduit. Among them, $Gore-Tex^{(R)}$ has several advantages over other conduits. It can be manipulated to a suitable size, does not collapse easily, and it is a semi- permeable material that contain pores. A round shaped nerve can be newly formed because of its smooth inner surface. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the availability of $Gore-Tex^{(R)}$ tube as a nerve conduit at the peripheral nerve defect in the rat sciatic nerve. The 10 mm nerve gap was made in each group. A $Gore-Tex^{(R)}$ tube filled with skeletal muscle was inserted and autologous nerve graft was harvested, respectively. In the experimental group, we placed a 0.5 mm thickness, $30{\mu}m$ pored, 1.8 mm in diameter and 14 mm length tube with skeletal muscle inserted inside. In the control group, the nerve gap was inserted with a rat sciatic nerve. We estimated the results electrophysiologically and histologically to 16 weeks postoperatively. Results in the nerve conduction velocity, total myelinated axon count, myelin sheath thickness and mean nerve fiber diameter, the experimental group was substantially lower than that of the control group, but the statistic difference was not significant (p<0.05). The morphology was very similar in both groups, microscopically. From the above results, We conclude that $Gore-Tex^{(R)}$ qualifies as an ideal nerve conduit. It is suggested that $Gore-Tex^{(R)}$ tube filled with skeletal muscle may, substitute for an autologous nerve graft.
