  • In this study, EM wave absorbers based on Au coated conductive sheets were prepared, and their reflection and transmission coefficients were investigated. An Au coated conductive sheet showed the transmission loss higher than 40 dB in $1{\sim}18$ GHz. Ba ferrite EM wave absorbers with an Au coated conductive sheet showed enhanced EM wave absorption and shield to compare with Ba ferrite EM wave absorbers without conductive sheets. Proposed EM wave absorbers with conductive sheets are useful to protect EM machines from EM interference by strayfields.

  • This study investigated electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding effectiveness (SE) of hybrid conductive fabrics. The coaxial transmission line method was used to measure the EMI Shielding effectiveness of the conductive fabrics. We designed and constructed a measuring system, consisting of a network analyzer and a device that serves as a sample holder and at the same time as a transmission medium of incident electromagnetic waves. The measurements of SE were carried out in a frequency range from 100 MHz to 2 GHz. The results of the EMI shielding experiments showed that the maximum electromagnetic shielding effectiveness (EMSE) values of sandwich type C/A/C (carbon fiber sheet/aluminum foil tape/carbon fiber sheet) and C/Ni/C (carbon fiber sheet/magnetic shielding foil/carbon fiber sheet) samples were 55 dB and 113 dB, respectively, at a frequency of 1.9 GHz.

  • The magnet wheel which generates on its interfacing conductive part a repulsive force and a traction torque by rotation of permanent magnets is used to manipulate the conductive plate without mechanical contact. Here, the air-gap magnetic field of the magnet wheel is shielded partially to convert the traction torque into a linear thrust force. Although a magnitude of the thrust force is constant under the fixed open region, we can change the direction of force by varying a position of the shield sheet. So, the spatial position of conductive plate is controlled by not the force magnitude from each magnet wheel but the open position of shield sheet. This paper discusses non-contact conveyance system of the conductive plate using electromagnetic forces from multiple magnet wheels.

  • This study demonstrates transparent electrodes with characteristics desirable for touch screen panels using carbon nanotubes (CNTs). This has been accomplished by depositing CNTs on glass substrates via spray coating and then depositing thin conductive polymer films on the CNTs via spin coating. For all of the samples, such as CNTs, conductive polymers, and polymer-coated CNTs, the surface morphologies, sheet resistances, visible transmittances, chromatic properties are characterized as functions of their preparation conditions, such as the spray times for CNTs and the spin speeds for conductive polymers. The experimental results confirm that only the polymer-coated CNTs can satisfy all of the requirements that are required for electrodes of touch screen panels, such as the sheet resistance lower than $100{\Omega}/sq$, the visible transmittance higher than 80 %, and the yellowness smaller than 1.

  • As a substitute of ITO material, carbon nanotube (CNT) is widely studied for transparent conductive film (TCF). Current sheet resistance of CNT-TCF is about 100 ${\Omega}$/sq at 80% transmittance. But CNT-TCF performance in manufacturable level is about 500 ${\Omega}$/sq at 83% based on the Topnanosys Co's result. Therefore, critical issue in CNT-TCF research is to reduce the sheet resistance with manufacturing reliability. In this report, recent developments using CNT-TCF are introduced. Touch panel, transparent LED signboard, transparent speaker and transparent heater are representative examples. Also I describe the future issues and prospect of CNT-TCF for the flexible display.

  • An Indium Zinc Oxide(IZO) transparent conductive layer was deposited on a large size glass substrate by using magnetron dc sputtering method with varying a deposition temperature. As the deposition temperature decreased to a room temperature, the sheet resistance of IZO film increased. But this deposition temperature range is included in an applicable to a device. From a standpoint of the sheet resistance, the differences of the sheet resistance were not great and the uniformity of the layer was uniformed around 10%. Crystallization particles were shown on the surface of the layer as deposition temperature increased, but these particles were not shown on the surface of the layer as deposition temperature decreased to the room temperature. It didn't make a scrap of difference in a transmittance of varying deposition temperature. Therefore, it is concluded that IZO thin film manufactured by the room temperature deposition condition can be used as a large size transparent conductive layer of a liquid crystal display device.

  • Screen printable $MoSi_2$ paste and its ceramic sheet heater were investigated. $MoSi_2$ powder without $Mo_5Si_3$ second phase, which causes so-called pest phenomena, was synthesized by SHS technique. Over glaze was also developed for preventing pest phenomenon. The maximum temperature of $MoSi_2$ ceramic heater was over $500^{\circ}C$. After several heat up and cooling cycle, the $MoSi_2$ heater reveals pest phenomenon. Conductive $MoSi_2$ paste could be used in electronic ceramics, i.e., MLCC, LTCC, HTCC, and etc.

  • It has increased several decades in the field of Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) transparent thin film, However, a major problem with this ITO thin film application is high cost compared with other transparent thin film materials[1]. So far, in order to overcome this disadvantage, we show that a transparent ITO/Ag/i-ZnO multilayer thin film electrode would be more cost-effective and it has not only highly transparent but also conductive properties. The aim of this research has therefore been to try and establish how ITO/Ag/i-ZnO multilayer thin film would be more effective than ITO thin film. Herein, we report the properties of ITO/Ag/i-ZnO multilayer thin film by using optical spectroscopic method and measuring sheet resistance. At a certain total thickness of thin film, sheet resistance of ITO/Ag/i-ZnO multilayer was drastically decreased than ITO layer approximately $40{\Omega}/{\Box}$ at same visible light transmittance. (minimal point $5.2{\Omega}/{\Box}$). Tendency, which shows lowly sheet resistive in a certain transmittance, has been observed, hence, it should be suitable for transparent electrode device.
