The vehicle routing problem (VRP) can be described as a problem to find the optimum traveling routes from one or several depot (s) to number of geographically scattered customers. This study executes a revised Heterogeneous Vehicle Routing Problem (HVRP) to minimize the cost that needs to conduct efficiently the snow removal operations of Air Wing under available resources and limited operations time. For this HVRP, we model the algorithm of an hybrid Ant Colony System (ACS). In the initial step for finding a solution, the modeled algorithm applies various alterations of a parameter that presents an amount of pheromone coming out from ants. This improvement of the initial solution illustrates to affect to derive better result ultimately. The purpose of this study proves that the algorithm using Hybrid heuristic incorporated in tabu and ACS develops the early studies to search best solution.

To conduct statistical process control needs the assumption that the process data are independent. However, most of chemical processes, like a semi-conduct processes do not satisfy the assumption because of autocorrelation. It causes abnormal out of control signal in the process control and misleading process capability. In this study, we introduce that Shore's method to solve the problem and to find the optimal subgroup size to estimate variance for AR(l) model. Especially, we focus on finding an actual subgroup size for small samples using simulation. It may be very useful for statistical process control to analyze process capability and to make a Shewhart chart properly.

The purpose of this study is to find out the factors that affect the prognosis of conduct disorder in the adolescents. According to the nature or behavioral problems during 6 months after discharge, the good prognosis group(N=37) and the poor prognosis group(N= 36) were selected and scores of Youth Self Report(YSR), MMPI, KWIS were compared between both groups. The following results were obtained. 1) In family environmental factors, no significant difference was found between both groups. 2) In YSL total problem score, score of externalizing syndrome and score of delinquent behavior were significantly higher in the poor prognosis group. 3) In MMPI, no significant difference was found between both groups. 4) In KWIS, total 1.0. did not show significant differences between both groups. Our hypothesis that the prognosis of conduct disorder in adolescent is poorer in cases with higher quantities of problematic behaviors is certified.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the analysis on the pattern and proposition process of science inquiry problems proposed by elementary school general students and science-gifted ones. The science inquiry problems were composed of one quantitative problem and one qualitative problem. To conduct this study, general students and science-gifted ones of grade 4 and 5 in elementary schools were selected. The results of this study were as follows. In both quantitative and qualitative problem, most of the students, including all the sciencegifted students and general ones, used N-IP pattern and S2 proposition process strategy to propose inquiry problems. In the relationship between proposed problem and proposition process strategy, when using S2 strategy, N-IP problems were chiefly proposed. And when using S2, S3 strategies, more patterns of inquiry problems were generated than using any other strategies. Drawing proposition processes of inquiry problem into map, science-gifted students used much more proposition process strategies than general ones.

In this paper, we consider a problem of partitioning a search area into smaller rectangular regions, so that multiple platforms can conduct search operations independently without requiring unnecessary coordination among themselves. The search area consists of cells where each cell has some prior information regarding the probability of target existence. The detection probability in particular cell is evaluated by multiplying the observation probability of the platform and the target existence probability in that cell. The total detection probability within the search area is defined as the cumulative detection probability for each cell. However, since this search area partitioning problem is NP-Hard, we decompose the problem into three sequential phases to solve this computationally intractable problem. Additionally, we discuss a special case of this problem, which can provide an optimal analytic solution. We also examine the performance of the proposed approach by comparing our results with the optimal analytic solution.

A plane stress yield function YLD2000(Yoon et al., 2000) is applied to the finite element analysis S/W Z-Stamp because it is required to conduct proper consideration of aluminum alloy which has anomalous behavior. In the previous study, verification of the yield function and developed S/W is implemented. In this paper, two real parts of automobile body are additionally considered to verify the validity of Z-Stamp. The one is the benchmark problem #2 of Numisheet 2005 and the other is a small member part. In case of benchmark problem, formability simulation result and try-out result are compared with each other. In case of the small member part, formability analysis is implemented to predict the problem during the developing time.
In the ring leading problem with demand splitting, traffic demands are given for each pair of nodes in an undirected ring network and a flow is routed in either of the two directions, clockwise and counter-clockwise. The load of a link is the sum of the flows routed through the link and the objective of the problem is to minimize the maximum link load on the ring. Recently, four different optimal a1gorithms have been developed for solving the problem. In this paper, we compare those algorithms in a single framework and conduct a computational study to evaluate the practical performance of those algorithms.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between mother's beliefs on child rearing and children's self-perceptions. The subject of this study were comprised of 167 children aged 8-10 in Iksan & Kunsan city from Dec. 2 to Dec. 8, 2000. The children's self-perceptions were assessed by the self perceptions profile for children. Mother's beliefs questionnaire, developed by Okagaki and Sternberg, was used to obtain the data on mother's beliefs of parenting. The methods of analyses included basic descriptive categorical analysis as well as t-test, one way ANOVA-test, and multiple regression analyses. The major findings from the analyses are as follows: First, a significant difference was found in the degree of mother's beliefs about child rearing by mother's religion(p<.01), mother's education(p<.05), income(p<.001), level of life (p<.0l), mother's job, mother and fathers' agreement of child rearing(p<.05), relationship between mother and child(p<.05) in independence but a significant difference was not found in the degree of mother's beliefs about child rearing in accommodation. Second, the levels of children's scholastic performance were related to higher levels of mother's education(p<.001), mother's income(p<.001), mother and fathers' agreement of child rearing(p<.01). The levels of children's social competence was related to higher, child's gender (p<.01); girls were higher than boys. The levels of children's athletic abilities were not significant. The levels of children's physical appearance was related to higher levels of mother's education(p<.01), mother's income(p<.01), level of life(p<.05), mother's marriage(not divorce)(p<.01). The levels of children's behavioral conduct were related to higher levels of child's gender (p<.05), mother's education(p<.01), mother's income (p<.01), relationship between father and child(p<.0l). The levels of children's global self worth were related to higher levels of mother's age(p<.05), mother's education(p<.001), level of life(p<.05). Third according to the multiple regression analyses for the relationships between mother's beliefs about child rearing and children's self perceptions, mother's beliefs on the creativity were related to higher levels of children's scholastic performance, social competence, and mother's beliefs on the problem solving skills to higher levels of children's behavioral conduct and mother's beliefs on the accommodation to lower levels of children's scholastic performance, social conduct.
While architectural patterns provide software development solutions by providing schemas for structural organizations of software systems based on empirical knowledge, Jackson's problem frames provide a method of analyzing software problems. Problem frames are useful to understanding the software development problem, by putting emphasis on the problem domain, rather than on the solution space. Research exists that relates problem frames and software architecture, but most of this research uses problem frames only to understand given problems. Moreover, none of the existing research derives architectural patterns by considering both problem frames and quality attributes. In this paper, we propose a software architecture design method for pattern-based architecture design, by matching problem frames and architectural patterns. To that end, our approach first develops the problem model based on the problem frames approach, and then uses it to match with candidate architectural patterns, from the perspectives of both functionality, and quality attributes. Functional matching uses the problem frame diagram to match the problem model of an architectural pattern. We conduct a case study to show that our approach can systematically decide the right architectural patterns, and provide a basis for fine-grained software architecture design.

The purpose of this study was to analyze mathematical errors and the effects of reflective problem posing activities on students' mathematical problem solving abilities and attitudes toward mathematics. We chose two 5th grade groups (experimental and control groups) to conduct this research. From the results of this study, we obtained the following conclusions. First, reflective problem posing activities are effective in improving students' problem solving abilities. Students could use extended capability of selecting a condition to address the problem to others in the activities. Second, reflective problem posing activities can improve students' mathematical willpower and promotes reflective thinking. Reflective problem posing activities were conducted before and after the six areas of mathematics. Also, we examined students' mathematical attitudes of both the experimental group and the control group about self-confidence, flexibility, willpower, curiosity, mathematical reflection, and mathematical value. In the reflective problem posing group, students showed self check on their problems solving activities and participated in mathematical discussions to communicate with others while participating mathematical problem posing activities. We suggested that reflective problem posing activities should be included in the development of mathematics curriculum and textbooks.
