Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of dietary incorporation of tanninrich woody species on meat oxidative stability, carcass traits and meat quality in goats. Methods: Two tannin-rich species were tested using a three-treatments feeding trial, where treatments consisted of: Larrea divaricata and Acacia aroma both at 12.5% in dry matter basis of the diet and a control diet (alfalfa hay). All feeding diets were iso-protein and iso-energy. Carcass conformation, carcass compactness, carcass fatness and subcutaneous fat deposition were evaluated. Intake, liveweigh, Longissimus thoracis et lumborum muscles of goats were analyzed in order to evaluate quality parameters such as pH value, instrumental color evaluation, water holding capacity, total phenolic content, antioxidant activity, meat oxidative stability and fatty acid profiles in meat. Results: Feed intake, liveweight gain, carcass, and meat traits did not differ among treatments. Changes in meat lipid profile among treatments were observed for oleic and elaidic acid contents. Meat total phenolic content and antioxidant activity did not differ among treatments; although, meat oxidative status after storage at room temperature, as well as under refrigerated and frozen conditions were different between control and both supplemented groups. Conclusion: The inclusion of Acacia aroma and Larrea divaricata leaves in goat diet enhanced meat oxidative stability. Modulation of the ruminal biohydrogenation of fatty acids produced by condensed tannins of these plant species need to be further investigated.
As the infrastructures and populations are the condensed in the mega city, urban flood management becomes very important due to the severe loss of lives and properties. For the more accurate calculation of runoff from the urban catchment, hourly or even minute rainfall data have been utilized. However, the time steps of the measured or forecasted data under climate change scenarios are longer than hourly, which causes the difficulty on the application. In this study, daily rainfall data was disaggregated into hourly using the stochastic method. Based on the historical hourly precipitation data, Gram Schmidt orthonormalization process and K-Nearest Neighbor Resampling (KNNR) method were applied to disaggregate daily precipitation into hourly. This method was originally developed to disaggregate yearly runoff data into monthly. Precipitation data has smaller probability density than runoff data, therefore, rainfall patterns considering the previous and next days were proposed as 7 different types. Disaggregated rainfall was resampled from the only same rainfall patterns to improve applicability. The proposed method was applied rainfall data observed at Seoul weather station where has 52 years hourly rainfall data and the disaggregated hourly data were compared to the measured data. The proposed method might be applied to disaggregate the climate change scenarios.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the fracture strength of porcelain laminate veneer with various lingual extention length when incisal restoring. Sixty recently extracted, intact maxillary incisors were used and stored in a physiologic saline solution from the time of extraction. Seating form was preparation at the labial surface of each tooth with a water-cooled round diamond bur. Standard block was formed with 32 gauge and 24 gauge wax at tooth labial and lingual surface. Lingual extention length differed according to each group. (group I : 0.5mm, group II : 1 mm, group III : 2mm, group IV : 0mm) All tooth specimens were impressioned with examix(GC Inc., Japan). Refractory cast were maked with refractory die material(Ceramco Inc., U.S.A.) Laminate porcelain (Ceramco II Veneer porcelain, Ceramco Inc., U.S.A.) was condensed in refractory die cast and baked according to the manufacturer's recommendations. Each surface was contoured with low speed diamond bur according to guide block. All porcelain specimens were sandblasted and ultrasonically cleaned in distlled water for 3 minutes. Then, all porcelain specimen were etched with 8% hydrofluoric acid for 5 minutes. Sixty specimens were bonded with composite resin cement(Choice Porcelain Veneer System, Bisco Inc., U.S.A.) according to manufacture's directions. The fracture loads of the specimen were measured by Instron universal testing machine. The mean values of fracture loads for the groups were statistically compared by Duncan's multiful range test. The result were as follows : Mean fracture strengths of each group were 86.95Mpa in no lingual extention group, 44.98Mpa in 0.5mm lingual extention group, 27.47Mpa in 1mm lingual extention group, 19.61Mpa in 2mm lingual extention group. There was a statistically significant difference between all group(p<0.01).

Generally, hydroxyapatite(HAp), zeolite, carbon molecular sieve , activated carbon and alumina are used as heavy metal ions adsorption materials. Among those adsorption materials, HAp which has good positive ion-exchange ability with metal ion, and zeolite are utilized in wastewater treatment. Most of water pollutions are caused by hazardous heavy metals ions as well as bacteria in waste water. In this study, a adsorption materials (HAP and zeolite) are ion-exchanged with a well known antimicrobial metal ions, such as $Ag^+,\;Cu^{2+},\;and\;Zn^{2+}$, in order to give a adsorption of heavy metal ions and a killing effects of bacteria. The antimicrobial effects of adsorption materials are observed using by E. Coli. The results show that there is a complete antimicrobial effect in the adsorption materials with $Ag^+$ at the concentration of $1{\times}10^{-4}$cell/$m\ell$ of E. Coli until 24 hours. However, there is not good antimicrobial effects in the adsorption materials with $Cu^{2+},\;and\;Zn^{2+}$ substitution. Feng et. al. showed the denaturation effects of silver ions which induces the condensed DNA molecules and losing their replication abilities.

After supercritical water treatment of poplar wood meals (passed through 60 mesh) for 60s between 325 and $425^{\circ}C$ at the fixed pressure at $220{\pm}10atm$, some solid residues were present in the degradation products. They mainly consisted of chemically modified lignin and fibrous materials. Glucose and xylose were identified as main sugar components of fibrous materials, and the highest ratio of glucose/xylose was achieved at the highest reaction temperature. As reaction temperature was elevated, the portion of fibrous materials decreased in the solid residues, while lignin was further accumulated. The H : G : S ratio of lignin in solid residues was estimated by analytical pyrolysis. Irrespective of reaction temperatures, the H:G:S ratios were not significantly changed in the lignin in solid residues. Compared to poplar milled wood lignin (MWL), it was remarkable that H type monomers were further lowered, while portion of S type monomers increased. The amount of G type monomers were relative stable. In presence of HCl catalyst, lowering H type as well as enhancing S type was further distinguishable. According to the result of nitrobenzene oxidation (NBO), ca. 265 mg of vanillin and syringaldehyde was yielded from poplar MWL as main products. However, remarkably reduced amount of NBO products were determined from solid residues by raising operating temperature as well as by the addition of HCl catalyst. These results strongly indicate that $\beta$-O-4 linkage could be easily cleaved during supercritical water treatment, so that the lignins in the solid residues seem to be condensed phenol polymers, which are mainly formed by carbon-carbon linkages rather than $\beta$-O-4 linkage.
Freundlich isothermal adsorption parameters, applicable to such biofilter-model as process-lumping model(Lim's model), for sterilized granular activated carbon(GAC), sterilized compost and sterilized equal volume mixture of GAC and compost were obtained and were compared each other, assuming that adsorbents are enclosed by water layer, in order to construct robust process-lumping biofilter model effective for wide-range of hydrophilic volatile organic compounds(VOC). In this investigation 0.04, 0.08, 0.12, 0.16, 0.2, 0.4, 0.8 and 1.0ml of ethanol were added to three kinds of adsorbent-media and were placed at $30^{\circ}{\cdots}$ under the wet condition of the media, which was the same as biofilter operating condition, until the adsorption reached the condition of equilibrium before each adsorbed amount of ethanol was obtained. Then adsorption capacity parameters(K) and adsorption exponents of Freundlich adsorption isotherm equation, which simulates the adsorbed amount of ethanol equilibrated with the ethanol concentration of the condensed water in the pore of the media, were constructed for sterilized granular activated carbon(GAC), sterilized compost and sterilized equal volume mixture of GAC and compost as (0.7566 and $5.070{\times}10^{-7}mg-ethanol/mgmedia/(mg-ethanol/m^3)^{0.7566}$), (0.8827 and $1.000{\times}10^{-8}mg-ethanol/mgmedia/(mg-ethanol/m^3)^{0.8827}$) and (0.5688 and $5.243{\times}10^{-6}mg-ethanol/mgmedia/(mg-ethanol/m^3)^{0.5688}$), respectively. These Freundlich isothermal adsorption parameters were applicable to the adsorption characteristics of biofilter media enclosed with bio-layer. The order of magnitude of the ratio of ethanol-air/water partition coefficient and toluene-air/water partition coefficient was almost consistent to that of ethanol-adsorbed amounts in this experiment with compost and in the investigation of Delhomenie et al. on toluene-adsorption to wet compost.
The universe has its order of yang and yin : all creation are continuously generated, grow and die, which is the results of the harmonious operation by yang and yin. Among all creation, the human is one of the samjae(three bases of the world, which are heaved earth, and man) and he is from the combined sukhi(a superior khi) of yang and yin. And human life itself is basically a condensed jonghyul (life blood) and at the same time it is only a transient joining of sadae(the four elements of earth, air, fire and water). Yang and yin, the two axes of the world, therefore. are the most crucial and fundamental concept to explain the generation and extinction of alt creation, to understand people in time and space. to find out the reality of human life as an organism, and, at last, to observe the state of human health. If so, what is the most essential idea in yang and yin\ulcorner It is taegeuk(chungkhi) or tao(of one yang and one yin). If the property of heaven and earth is kongon, taegeuk is a khi and tao a principle. And it can be said that a human body is merely a union of hyung and khi, that human life is an essence of sambo, jeongkhishin, that human health is a harmoninzed coordination of yang and yin because it is from the combined sukhi of yang and yin. Hyung. a vessel for sambo, jeongkhishin, is at the bottom and shin is on the top : the personality and the disposition of individuals differ according to their working. Thus. on the basis of the above discussion. the following can be offered as some suggestions for Korean Nursing Theory. Though human beings are part of Nature, they are the most eminent microcosm among all creation. So, as a subjet for nursing, a person should be understood with khijok kyoryu rather than with logical thinking, then mutual trust between the patient and the nurse can be established. The health of a person depends on the harmony of yang and yin. To be healthy, a person should consider harmonization with Nature(including his surroundings) as well as a balanced human relationships in society. Moreover, it is crucial for each person to obtain hoshim as a method of mind control rather than to only treat the symptoms of disease.
Real-time measurements of fine particles from stack emission gases are necessary due to the needs of continuous environmental monitoring of PM10 and PM2.5. The porous tube dilutor using hot and cold dilutions was developed to measure fine particles without condensable particles from highly humid emission gases and compared to the commercialized ejector-type dilutor. Particle size distributions were measured at the emission gases from a diesel engine and a coal-fired boiler. The porous tube dilutor could successfully measure the accumulation mode particles including relatively large particles more than $3{\mu}m$ without nuclei particles, while the ejector dilutor detected some condensable particles and could not detect large particles. The porous tube dilutor could successfully remove the already condensed water droplet particles generated by a humidifier in a $30m^3$ chamber.
To improve the crossflow untrafiltration flux, we applied periodic oscillations in transmembrane pressure gradient in order to promote fluid turbulence by inducing repeated compression and relaxation of the cake/gel layer. The oscillatory forms used were square-, sine-, triangle-wave, and pumping interruption. The permeate flux profiles were mathematically simulated and compared with the experimental data. The result showed the periodic pumping interruption most effectively improved the overall flux by up to about 32%. Enough pumping off-time, at least on the order of tens of seconds, was needed to allow the solutes in the layer to diffuse back to the bulk phase. It was better to start the oscillations earlier before the layer was fully established. The square-wave oscillation yielded about 11% increase, which was particularly pronounced in the later part of the filtration. Either the amplitude or the period of the oscillations resulted little influence on flux.actate ester, and lactate ester produced in esterification reaction was distilled simultaneously with hydrolysis reaction into lactic acid. When the yields of lactic acid recovered by batch reactive distillations with various alcohols were compared, the yield of lactic acid was increased as the volatility of lactate ester was increased. In this batch reactive distillation, because the mixtures condensed in partial condensor were flown to reboiler through distillation column, the recovery yield of lactic acid was affected by operation temperature of partial condensor. Hydrolysis reaction into lactic acid in distillation column rarelyoccurred because of short retention time of lactate ester and water. Lactate ester was reacted into lactic acid in reboiler.

This study was executed to investigate proper storage conditions for freshness of lunch-box and prevention of lunch-box borne illness. When boiled rice was put into the empty lunch-box without cooling, temperature of the lunch-box was $70^{\circ}C$ to be able to destroy vegetative cell of microoganism in the lunch-box. Temperature of the side-dish canister that is placed on the hot lunch-box was increased from $15^{\circ}C$ to $53^{\circ}C$. The use of the insulator(one to two layer) between the lunch-box and side-dish canister was effective in insulation of the heat that is conducted from the hot lunch-box to the side-dish canister. The insulation layer(asbestos) was also effective to inhibit the decrease of pH value and growth of microoganisms in the toiled rice and side-dish during storage of the lunch-box. The number of microoganisms in the lunch-box covered without cooling was less than in the case of lunch-box covered after cooling; however, the amount of generation in condensed water that is responsible for swelling of boiled rice in the lunch-box occurred much more in the one than in the other, and was a little generated in the case of high temperature storage, insulator use, and when covering the lunch-box after cooling, and pre-evaporation by stirring boiled rice in the cooking pot before filling it. In addition, inserting the heat insulators on and bottom of the lunch-box the boiled rice can be eaten without coldness in winter season.
