  • In this study, we review all matters for system application based on the international and the domestic standards. Considering the minimization of bottom frame damage, ease of maintenance, withstanding-environmental performance (condensation or rain), maintenance of airtightness, customer convenience and safety issues in railway vehicle, the conceptual design for doorstep equipment for both the low and the high level platforms is carried out. On the basis of conceptual design, the prototype is manufactured. We perform the vibration test based on the international standard IEC-61373 for securement of the reliability and enhancement of design & production. Finally we would like to describe the test results.

  • Ecosystem health assessment is an emerging concept regarded as a useful diagnostic tool for evaluating ecosystems. The stability of ecosystem is the main theme in the assessment. Generally, two components - resilience and resistance - are involved in the mechanism of ecosystem stability. In this study, relative degrees of the resistance and the resilience were quantified for most aquatic Insects Inhabiting running waters in Korea. A total of 34 groups were newly categorized based on previous studies, and a conceptual model has been produced. The model was applied for the aquatic insect communities inhabiting different streams and demonstrated that each stream ecosystem possessed different degrees of stability. This study also indicated that it was possible to compare stabilities of different ecosystems using relative degrees of resilience and resistance. Using the conceptual model, suitable conservation and management strategies could be recommended in ecological assessments. The model can be used as a stepping-stone for developing more comprehensive methodology that objectively diagnoses and evaluates the ecosystem stability.

  • It is necessary a simple helicopter design and performance analysis program for a stage of helicopter conceptual design. To meet that needs, we have developed a program which is simply used to estimate helicopter configuration and performance. The program developed by this study is composed of Requirement, Mission profile Analysis, Size, Aerodynamic, Trim, Propulsion, Weight, and Performance modules, and each modules carry out operations for a given flight condition. In this study, we validate this analysis program in 9,500 1bs and 22,000 1bs helicopters and estimate design configuration and performance of 16,000 1b helicopter. And We can use this program to optimization process for Helicopter MDO framework.

  • Many studies on the professional development of science teachers demonstrated that induction teachers' conceptions of teaching science are important factors in developing their professionalism. The present study was conducted to describe in detail the progress of two science induction teachers, June and Mike, towards conceptual change teaching, and to investigate secondary induction science teachers' conceptions of teaching science by analysing their conceptual ecologies. The study was interpretive, using multiple data sources to achieve a triangulation of data. Both June and Mike held strongly positive learning in their views of knowledge and science. Holding positivist views of knowledge and of science is likely to be a major obstacle for anyone coming to understand constructivism and its implications in teaching for conceptual change. This argument resonates in several key ways with the teachers' cases, even though I recognize differences between scenario and teachers, and between teachers themselves.

  • This paper represents a study on the development of the conceptual design for a skateboard by TRIZ. At first the problems of a commercial skateboard was analyzed. And its development objective was defined in connection with the theory of the system improvement trend. The developed conceptual design was compared with a commercial skateboard. The skateboard riding action analysis with a motion capture equipment shows the here developed skateboard more efficient than commercial one.

  • This study examined the potential teaching strategies of prospective elementary teachers and their perceptions of the procedural/conceptual nature of examples. Fifty-four prospective teachers participated in this study, engaging in two-phase tasks. Analysis of data indicated that: (a) Overall, the participants' perceptions were geared toward putting emphasis on conceptual understanding rather than procedural understanding; but (b) Generally, procedure-oriented strategies were more frequently incorporated in participants' potential teaching plans. This implied that participants' preconceived ideas regarding math examples were not always reliable indicators of their potential teaching strategies. Implications and suggestions for mathematics teacher preparation are discussed.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop clothing shopping orientation[CSO] scale reflecting the conceptual structure of CSO. For this purpose, a questionnaire composed of comprehensive 85 CSO items was developed through 2-step preliminary tests. Data was collected from two samples. One sample(n=559) was for scale development and the other sample(n=235) was for cross validity test. Descriptive analysis, correlation analysis, exploratory factor analysis, regression analysis, ANOVA, and confirmatory factor analysis were used for data analysis. For each lower-dimension within the CSO conceptual structure model, 1-2 items were selected based on the quantitative and the qualitative standards. As a result, a CSO scale composed of 31 items was developed, and reliability, construct validity, cross validity, convergent validity, discriminant validity, and criterion validity of the scale were verified. This study has significance in offering the standardized scale to both the academic and the practical fields.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the value evaluation of foodstuff of 448 college students residing in the urban area. As a result of analyzing the value of each foodstuff, two to four factors were drawn from each foodstuff. The factors were classified into the social-conceptual factor, the preparatory factor, the quality factor, the economic factor, the subjective factor, and the complex factor. It was learned that the social-conceptual factor was dominant over the majority of college students in the evaluation of value of foodstuffs. There was a difference in the factor of the value evaluation for each foodstuff according to sex and the main growth region among the college students. A significant difference was found between the sexes regarding the preparatory factor and the economic factor. Also, in accordance with the main growth region, there was great difference in the social-conceptual factor(except for the Korean rice cake).

  • The purpose of this study was to develop learning materials for the discussion and examine the effects of the discussion learning over the students' conceptual change on force and motion. The subjects consisted of 360 middle school students, comprising of 5 discussion groups of 185 students and 5 traditional learning groups of 175 students. The results indicated that students in the discussion groups showed higher achievement than those in the traditional learning groups. Therefore this study supported the importance of discussion in conceptual change. However further research should be conducted to examine other educational effects of discussion.
