  • During the previous few years, local universities have experienced a rapid decrease in registration of new student for admission because of the problem of excessive concentration to Seoul metropolitan area and decrease in the number of population under school ages. Even though they are tring to survive from the difficulties by developing new strategies to increase the number of new students, it has no meaning if there is no standpoint of marketing. So, this study suggests that introduction of demander focused marketing concept actively is needed breaking the general and conservative method when the university devise entrance examination strategy. Also, using of positioning map is suggested and the examples are showed as finding differentiation factors with competitive university.

  • The purpose of this paper is to review the domestic research on mathematical modeling by using three dimensional mathematical modeling map composed of perspective axis, domain axis, level axis, and to give direction to mathematical modeling research. The findings of this study show that the domestic research on mathematical modeling focuses on application perspective, notions and classroom domain and secondary level, and that we need various studies with concept formation perspective, system domain, tertiary level, and teacher(education) level on the future work about mathematical modeling.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine early childhood teachers' knowledge and the level of their knowledge on the contents of early childhood nutrition education. The subjects were 105 early childhood teachers and they were asked to draw a concept map. The number, characteristics and density of superordinate concepts on the contents of early childhood nutrition education were analyzed. The results were as follows: Firstly, the most frequent superordinate concept was dietary habits. Secondly, food culture was the highest average of the number of subordinate concepts. In a hierarchy, food culture was also the highest score. In specificity scores, food was the highest score. And the density ranged from 0.33 to 3.60. In conclusion, the teachers' knowledge structure on early childhood nutrition education could be regarded as parallel, not well-integrated, rather than hierarchical or well-organized. A variety of nutrition education and customized teacher training should be provided for early childhood teachers to offer early childhood nutrition education.

  • This research aims to build a concept map reflecting gifted elementary students' perception on fun factors of the classes for the gifted. Data for this research was gathered through brainstorming of 80 students currently attending classes for the gifted. 10 of them were selected as focus group for classification and evaluation, and 140 gifted-class students were asked of the fun factors for level of agreement after concept map analysis. Results of the research were, first, 46 final statements about fun factors which are categorized into 6 sub-categories ('the gifted class teacher's encouragement and feedback', 'confidence and chance', 'teamwork and intimacy with gifted friends', 'fulfilling, beneficial, and rewarding feeling', 'new and special experiments', 'qualitatively different class level and learning environment'). Second, the gifted students showed highest level of agreement on 'new and special experiments' category among the 6 sub-categories. Implication of this research on the field has been discussed.

  • Adaptive learning in e-learning has garnered researchers' interest. In it, learning resources could be recommended automatically to achieve a personalized learning experience. There are various ways to realize it. One of the realistic ways is adaptive learning path recommendation, in which learning resources are provided according to learners' requirements. This paper summarizes existing works and proposes an innovative approach. Firstly, a learner-centred concept map is created using graph theory based on the features of the learners and concepts. Then, the approach generates a linear concept sequence from the concept map using the proposed traversal algorithm. Finally, Learning Objects (LOs), which are the smallest concrete units that make up a learning path, are organized based on the concept sequences. In order to realize this step, we model it as a multi-objective combinatorial optimization problem, and an improved immune algorithm (IIA) is proposed to solve it. In the experimental stage, a series of simulated experiments are conducted on nine datasets with different levels of complexity. The results show that the proposed algorithm increases the computational efficiency and effectiveness. Moreover, an empirical study is carried out to validate the proposed approach from a pedagogical view. Compared with a self-selection based approach and the other evolutionary algorithm based approaches, the proposed approach produces better outcomes in terms of learners' homework, final exam grades and satisfaction.

  • In this paper, We propose the futuristic map using variety technology of advanced ICT-based. The futuristic maps are expected to developed into a new format of user participation to express the results in various formats through the understanding and interpretation of the facts and phenomena of tangible and intangible that exist in the real world. In the future, the map is expected to be developed into form of a new paradigm map made in real time that economy, industry, the collection of information necessary for everyday life, processing, usage, analysis, distribution and sharing. In this paper, we provide a real-time personalized contents to digitize the information of the real space based on the concept of map, databases, spatial analysis and describes the key technologies that characterized by the representation of time-series data by analyzing and prediction every field macro phenomena of society, economy, culture and etc. And we establish the concepts of the 'New Paradigm Map' for future creative economy.

  • The purpose of this qualitative study was to identify high school students' conceptual differentiation patterns on human digestion system. The subjects were 124 high school students and this group was guided to independently construct concept maps. Among them, 19 were selected for an in-depth interview and a short test. The concept maps, interview transcripts and the results of short-test were analyzed to identify conceptual differentiation patterns. The results were as follows. Mainly three distinct conceptual differentiation patterns were identified. The first pattern can be named as an 'Free-flow type'. The group belongs to this pattern expressed numerous examples than meaningful concepts with unclear understanding of hierarchial relation between each concepts. Also, this group had difficulties in grasp interrelations of different concepts. The second pattern can be identified as 'Sequence type'. This group constructed concept maps by featuring conceptual sequence. The group applied meaningful learning, yet assembled concept maps primarily according to sequence of learning and exhibited less organized concept maps than hierarchial type. The third pattern can be named as 'Hierarchial type'. All students elaborated concept maps after lessons. The sequence type changed hierarchial type or sequence mixed with hierarchial type but free-flow type was hardly changed.

  • As the concept of web characteristics represented by openness and mind sharing grows more and more popular, device log data generated by both users and developers have become increasingly complicated. For such reasons, a log data processing mechanism that automatically produces meaningful data set from large amount of log records have become necessary for mobile device UX(User eXperience) analysis. In this paper, we define the attributes of to-be-analyzed log data that reflect the characteristics of a mobile device and collect real log data from mobile device users. Along with the MapReduce programming paradigm in Hadoop platform, we have performed a mobile device User eXperience analysis in a distributed processing environment using the collected real log data. We have then demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed analysis mechanism by applying the various combinations of Map and Reduce steps to produce a simple data schema from the large amount of complex log records.

  • According to continuous development of information technology, it is needed to make convergence of other disciplines such as humanities and area studies. Among convergence fields related to information technology and humanities/area studies, electronic cultural atlas represents various digitalized cultural information on electronic map using spatial data such as points, lines, and polygons through time, spatial, and subject axises. Knowledge map is to represent special academic information based on electronic cultural atlas. In details, knowledge map can provide integrated information sharing and spread because academic information associated with electronic cultural atlas and data related to per subjects, regions, and period become organically connected. Therefore, knowledge map may be utilized to promote scholastic research and diffuse research result. In this paper, we describe basic concept and composition of knowledge map and propose design method to construct knowledge map.
