This paper proposes a new concept of optimal governor-response power flow (OGPF) to obtain an optimal set of control parameters when the systems are in mid-term conditions after disturbances, ignoring the system dynamics. The idea of GOPF simply comes from the attempt to find an optimal solution of the governor-response power flow (GPF), which is a pre-exiting tool that is used to get power flow solutions that would exist several seconds after an event is applied. GPF incorporates the simplified model of governors in the systems into the power flow equations. This paper explains the concept of OGPF and depicts the OGPF formulation and application of a nonlinear interior point method as the solution technique. Also, this paper includes an example with New England 39-bus test system to illustrate the effectiveness of GOPF.

The up-to-date fatigue strength assessment system for ship structures was developed based on the spectral analysis method and numerical calculation for a membrane type LNG carrier was carried out to verify the effectiveness of the developed system. The wave induced loads acting on the ship's hull were calculated based on strip theory. And introducing the concept of influence factor and 3-D fine mesh structural analysis, direct calculation of long-term distribution of wave induced stress components was realized. Using the derived long term distribution of stress components and Miner-Parmgren's linear damage accumulation rule, fatigue strength of structural components were investigated.

The purpose of this paper is twofold. On the one hand it takes issue with Engstrom's claim that conceptual metaphors are propositional; on the other, it aims to demonstrate that the mathematical term 'mapping' is inappropriate for the analysis of metaphors. To my mind, the propositional analysis of metaphors, a wrong analysis for that matter, originates in the notion 'mapping' I argue that partial 'mapping' between propositional meanings and metaphorical meanings is either mental or psychological, with no concomitant 'truth' value. When concept metaphors represent propositionality, they lose metaphoricity; when they obtain metaphoricity, they are free of propositionality. The mathematical terms 'mapping' and 'proposition,' it is stressed, should be avoided in the analysis of concept metaphors like 'A is B' because they are confusing when applied to linguistic expression. 1 suggest that the term 'mapping' be replaced by phrases such as 'interaction between two domains,' projection from source-domain to target domain,' or 'understanding the properties of two domains between A and B,' etc. This would amount to proposing a pragmatic or cognitive theory of metaphor.

This research examines the concept of 'homo sovieticus' by reviewing the sociological essay novel homo sovieticus written by Zinoviev who was one of the well-known dissident in Soviet Union period, and attempts to have critical understanding of the concept. It is an interesting research topic that current Russia and Russians who get through the historical layers from Soviet to post-Soviet regime at the time current trend that allows to have various academic discussions of post-Soviet. It is required to examine the past of Russia and Russian to make precise estimation of their current and future. Therefore, it is necessary to re-examine the term of 'homo sovieticus' which is conventionally accepted. This research aims at broad comprehension of homo-sovieticus by focusing on the Zinoviev's own understanding instead of the habitual use of the term which only contains ideological and political intention.

The purpose of this study is to explicate the contemporary concept of the term 'sportswear' by studying the history of sportswear tradition in America where sportswear was first established and developed. American sportswear originated from some functional clothes made for specific sports during the 19th century. Early in 20th century, there occurred many significant events in America while Americans were undergoing two successive world wars. First of all, due to the wars, women's role in labor force became so significant that their social status was enhanced remarkably. With economy growing every decade, the amount of leisure time for American people substantially increased and, therefore they could develop their leisure activity culture. All these changes made Americans demand the need for comfortable and functional clothes suitable for their changed way of life. In response to this demand, the sportswear tradition became mature due to the contribution by many creative All-American designers, most of whom have made their active contributions since 1970s. Now the sportswear, which used to be designed for specific sports, developed into casual wear in general with its extended definition. The contemporary concept of sportswear is no longer limited to those clothes for specific sports. Sportswear has now become more like a casual activity wear which all classes of people can enjoy in their life. Since the concept and scope of sportswear is extended to a great degree today, we need a new professional term to correctly express the extended nature of these contemporary clothes.

Objectives : This study was to analyze the definitions of herbs, herbal drugs, crude drugs and natural products in the relevant laws and regulations, understand the related problems, and propose directions for improvement. Methods : I analyzed the legal definitions in respect of herbs, herbal drugs, crude drugs and natural products in relevant laws and regulations since 1945, explained the problems, and suggested the solution-considering the academic stance of Traditional Korean Medicine and the dualistic medical and pharmaceutical system. Results : Herbs are defined as "refined things that are cut and dried in their most original state". The definition of crude drugs includes herbs and the "cell contents, secretion, extracts, minerals and other parts of animals and plants that are used medicinally". The concept of natural products is expanded to adding tissue cultures to the definition of crude drugs. Conclusions : The definition of herbs should at least include all products that are "processed, extracted and prepared" as well as contents that consist of various forms of hospital-prepared herbs. The term "herbal drug" corresponds to a traditional term of "drug", and this should be established as a concept to explain "drugs in raw materials that are used to prepare herbs and/or manufacture herbal medicine". The legal definition of herbs should include the concept of crude drugs. Herbal drug preparations and crude drugs should be included in the definition of herbal drugs.

This article presents a study on the concept of "Photogenie", which refers to the duality and mentality of the photographic image, with the viewpoint regarding the photographic image by Edgar Morin. First, we will look at the evolution of the concept of "Photogenie". From the field of photography, the term "Photogenie" means objects that produce light, enough to impress the photographic plate. But theorists of cinema at the beginning of the 20th century have changed the meaning of the term. For Louis Delluc, the "Photogenie" means the effect of union between the reproduction of real and artistic genius. For Jean Epstein, the "Photogenie" means mental quality, nonmaterial or inderterminable, of the photographic and cinematographic image. But Morin synthesized the arguements of Delluc and Epstein. For him, the "Photogenie" indicates both a double character of the photographic image and its mental quality. Then, based on this concept of "Photogenie," Morin said on particular aspects in the photographic image. Considering photography as a double in the anthropological sense, it puts emphasis not only the dual nature of the photographic image but also mental and spiritual quality. Combining the theory of the mage Henri Bergson and Jean-Paul Sartre, he builds his own theory of the mage that concerns both photography and cinema. In short, to Morin, the photographic image is a place where coexist absence and presence, the real and the imaginary, perception and memory, the material and mental, as well that a place of mentality which appear all our memories, hallucinations, dreams, imagination etc.

The appropriate occlusion is one of the most important factors for the long-term success of implant and its restorations. The purpose of this review is to investigate and define occlusal considerations to reduce failure of implant prostheses. The physiological movement of implants is markedly lower than that of natural teeth and they also lack in occlusal sensitivity. Proper occlusal pattern may be assigned to compensate for the biological disadvantages and occlusal contacts must be formed where the cantilever effect is minimized. Moreover, the long-term success of implants after osseointegration can be assured by reducing early occlusal loading to avoid implant overloading and selecting appropriate occlusion material. Occlusal overload was brought by the number and location of occlusal contacts, which are under the clinician's control. The concept of implant occlusion is based on the concepts derived from traditional prosthetics. Moreover, there are few evidence on the concept or design of implant occlusion. Several occlusal design was recommended for implant prosthesis. Mutually protected occlusion, group function occlusion and bilateral balance occlusion was recommended for the specific types of implant restorations. This article reviews proper design of occlusion for implant restoration and offers occlusion strategy clinically.

This study combines the concept of degree centrality in complex network with the Term Frequency $^*$ Proportional Document Frequency ($TF^*PDF$) algorithm; the combined method, called PMCN (PDF-Modified similarity and Complex Network), constructs relationship networks among sentences for writing news summaries. The PMCN method is a multi-document summarization extension of the ideas of Bun and Ishizuka (2002), who first published the $TF^*PDF$ algorithm for detecting hot topics. In their $TF^*PDF$ algorithm, Bun and Ishizuka defined the publisher of a news item as its channel. If the PDF weight of a term is higher than the weights of other terms, then the term is hotter than the other terms. However, this study attempts to develop summaries for news items. Because the $TF^*PDF$ algorithm summarizes daily news, PMCN replaces the concept of "channel" with "the date of the news event", and uses the resulting chronicle ordering for a multi-document summarization algorithm, of which the F-measure scores were 0.042 and 0.051 higher than LexRank for the famous d30001t and d30003t tasks, respectively.

Objectives : This study was done to find the philological origin of the concept of pulse of the vital gate being assigned left or right according to sex distinction, and study its theoretical features that had been applied to clinical diagnosis. Methods : Medical books such as Maijue(脈訣), Leizheng Huorenshu(類證活人書), Maijuezhizhang(脈訣指掌), Yixuerumen(醫學入門), which directly mentions or having been considered to mention such concept of pulse of the vital gate, were inquired to find the philological origin of the concept. And after the philological origin was confirmed, combination between this concept and traditional pulse theory was also discussed. Results & Conclusions : The philological origin of the concept was confirmed as having the Taoist origin. In this study it was discussed through the contents of Xiyuedouxiansheng Xiuzhenzhinan(西嶽竇先生修眞指南). A term that is called 'the vital pulse(命脈)' appears in this book, and it could be said that the concept of 'the vital pulse' which is assigned on left or right according to sex distinction in the book like this had lead the pulse assignment of the vital gate into such a form that considers the sex distinction. After being accepted in medical theory, this concept also had been united with traditional pulse theory that appears in Nanjing(難經) and Maijing(脈經) to become a applicable theory in clinical diagnosis.
