  • SIBs(Service Independent Building block) are defined in CCITT advanced intelligent network concept model for supporting various services in the future. This paper describes the protocol modeling and verification for basic call process SIB. For modeling, we use Petri Net and verify this modeling by analyzing reachability tree of Petri Net. Results of this paper should be used for design and implementation of basic call process SIB.

A New Technique to Escape Local Minimum in Artificial Potential Field Based Path Planning

  • The artificial potential field (APF) methods provide simple and efficient motion planners for practical purposes. However, these methods have a local minimum problem, which can trap an object before reaching its goal. The local minimum problem is sometimes inevitable when an object moves in unknown environments, because the object cannot predict local minima before it detects obstacles forming the local minima. The avoidance of local minima has been an active research topic in the potential field based path planing. In this study, we propose a new concept using a virtual obstacle to escape local minima that occur in local path planning. A virtual obstacle is located around local minima to repel an object from local minima. We also propose the discrete modeling method for the modeling of arbitrary shaped objects used in this approach. This modeling method is adaptable for real-time path planning because it is reliable and provides lower complexity.

  • A brief introduction is given on the conditional moment closure model for turbulent nonpremixed combustion. It is based on the transport equations derived through a rigorous mathematical procedure for the conditionally averaged quantities and appropriate modeling forms for conditional scalar dissipation rate, conditional mean velocity and reaction rate. Examples are given for prediction of NO and OR in bluffbody flames, soot distribution in jet flames and autoignition of a methane/ethane jet to predict the ignition delay with respect to initial temperature, pressure and fuel composition. Conditional averaging may also be a powerful modeling concept in other approaches involved in turbulent combustion problems in various different regimes.

  • This paper proposes a new modeling method for estimating the impedance of an on-chip power/ground meshed plane. Frequency dependent R, L, and C parameters are extracted based on the proposed method so that the model can be applied from DC to high frequencies. The meshed plane model is composed of two parts: coplanar multi strip (CMS) and conductor-backed CMS. The conformal mapping technique and the scaled conductivity concept are used for accurate modeling of the CMS. The developed microstrip approach is applied to model the conductor-backed CMS. The proposed modeling method has been successfully verified by comparing the impedance of RLC circuit based on extracted parameters and the simulated impedance using a 3D-field solver.

  • In order to integrate high wind generation resources into power grid, it is an essential to predict power outputs of wind generating resources. As wind farm outputs depend on natural wind resources that vary over space and time, spatial modeling based on geographic information such as latitude and longitude is needed to estimate power outputs of wind generation resources. In this paper, we introduce the basic concept of spatial modeling and present the spatial prediction model based on Kriging techniques. The empirical data, wind farm power output in Texas, is considered to verify the proposed prediction model.

  • This study proposes the concept and measurement of object-oriented systems modelling activity based on the previous research in the area of systems engineering, object-oriented modelling, and information systems. The modelling activity is related to information systems development success for exploring the correlation of each other. The object-oriented modeling activity is found to be related to user satisfaction with developed information systems, But the modeling activity does not have relation to the other successes, such as cost, development schedule, and maintenance. This study contributes to systems development modeling research, systems success, and object-oriented systems modelling research. Practically, the results support the usefulness of object-oriented modelling effort in the field in terms of user satisfaction.

New insights in piezoelectric free-vibrations using simplified modeling and analyses

  • New insights are presented in simplified modeling and analysis of free vibrations of piezoelectric - based smart structures and systems. These consist, first, in extending the wide used piezoelectric-thermal analogy (TA) simplified modeling approach in currently static actuation to piezoelectric free-vibrations under short-circuit (SC) and approximate open-circuit (OC) electric conditions; second, the popular piezoelectric strain induced - potential (IP) simplified modeling concept is revisited. It is shown that the IP resulting frequencies are insensitive to the electric SC/OC conditions; in particular, SC frequencies are found to be the same as those resulting from the newly proposed OC TA. Two-dimensional plane strain (PStrain) and plane stress (PStress) free-vibrations problems are then analyzed for above used SC and approximate OC electric conditions. It is shown theoretically and validated numerically that, for both SC and OC electric conditions, PStress frequencies are lower than PStrain ones, and that 3D frequencies are bounded from below by the former and from above by the latter. The same holds for the modal electro-mechanical coupling coefficient that is retained as a comparator of presented models and analyses.

  • Purpose: This study aims to understand the trend and central concept of domestic researches on laughter therapy. For the analysis, this study used total 72 theses verified by inputting the keyword 'laughter therapy' from 2007 to 2021. Research design, data and methodology: This study performed the development and analysis of keyword co-occurrence network, analyzed the types of researches through topic modeling, and verified the visualized word cloud and sociogram. The keyword data that was cleaned through preprocessing, was analyzed in the method of centrality analysis and topic modeling through the 1-mode matrix conversion process by using the NetMiner (version 4.4) Program. Results: The keywords that most appeared for last 14 years were laughter therapy, depression, the elderly, and stress. The five topics analyzed in thesis data from 2007 to 2021 were therapy, cognitive behavior, quality of life, stress, and the elderly. Conclusions: This study understood the flow and trend of research topics of domestic laughter therapy for last 14 years, and there should be continuous researches on laughter therapy, which reflects the flow of time in the future.

  • The aim of this study is to analyze the correlation between concept perceptions and people's attitudes in halal tourism, development perceptions and people's attitudes, attitude and people's interest, concept perceptions and people's interest, development perceptions and people's interest, concept perceptions and people's interest, and development perceptions and people's interest. The method used in this research is SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) method. The population in this study was all Banten people. The samples in this study were respondents in five districts/cities in Banten, namely Tangerang (127 respondents), Serang (63 respondents), Pandeglang (97 respondents), Lebak (69 respondents), and Tangerang City (62 respondents). The sampling technique used is cluster random sampling. The data collection method used by researchers is a survey through filling out an online questionnaire. Based on regression test results shows concept perceptions has a significant effect on people's attitudes Development perceptions has no significant effect on people's attitudes, the attitude has no significant effect on people's interest, concept perceptions have no significant effect on people's interest, development perceptions have no significant effect on people's interest. Concept perceptions have no significant effect on people's interests through people's attitudes. Development perceptions have no significant effect on people's interests through people's attitudes.

Character-based Subtitle Generation by Learning of Multimodal Concept Hierarchy from Cartoon Videos (멀티모달 개념계층모델을 이용한 만화비디오 컨텐츠 학습을 통한 등장인물 기반 비디오 자막 생성)

  • Previous multimodal learning methods focus on problem-solving aspects, such as image and video search and tagging, rather than on knowledge acquisition via content modeling. In this paper, we propose the Multimodal Concept Hierarchy (MuCH), which is a content modeling method that uses a cartoon video dataset and a character-based subtitle generation method from the learned model. The MuCH model has a multimodal hypernetwork layer, in which the patterns of the words and image patches are represented, and a concept layer, in which each concept variable is represented by a probability distribution of the words and the image patches. The model can learn the characteristics of the characters as concepts from the video subtitles and scene images by using a Bayesian learning method and can also generate character-based subtitles from the learned model if text queries are provided. As an experiment, the MuCH model learned concepts from 'Pororo' cartoon videos with a total of 268 minutes in length and generated character-based subtitles. Finally, we compare the results with those of other multimodal learning models. The Experimental results indicate that given the same text query, our model generates more accurate and more character-specific subtitles than other models.
