  • PURPOSE. This study aims to investigate the degree of subjective pain and the satisfaction of patients who have undergone an implant treatment using a computer-guided template. MATERIALS AND METHODS. A survey was conducted for 135 patients who have undergone implant surgery with and without the use of the computerguided template during the period of 2012 and 2013 in university hospitals, dental hospitals and dental clinics that practiced implant surgery using the computer-guided template. Likert scale and VAS score were used in the survey questions, and the independent t-test and One-Way ANOVA were performed (${\alpha}=.05$). RESULTS. The route that the subjects were introduced to the computer-guided implant surgery using a surgical template was mostly advices by dentists, and the most common reason for which they chose to undergo such surgery was that it was accurate and safe. Most of them gave an answer that they were willing to recommend it to others. The patients who have undergone the computer-guided implant surgery felt less pain during the operation and showed higher satisfaction than those who have undergone conventional implant surgery. Among the patients who have undergone computer-guided implant surgery, those who also had prior experience of surgery without a computer-guided template expressed higher satisfaction with the former (P<.05). CONCLUSION. In this study, it could be seen that the patients who have undergone computer-guided implant surgery employing a surgical template felt less pain and had higher satisfaction than those with the conventional one, and the dentist's description could provide the confidence about the safety of surgery.

  • Computer aided design and manufacturing and implant surgery using a guide template improve restoration-driven implant treatment procedures. This case utilized those digital technologies to make definitive prostheses for a patient. According to the work flow of digital dentistry, cone beam computed tomography established the treatment plan, which was followed to make the guide template for implant placement. The template guided the implants to be installed as planned. The customized abutments and surveyed fixed restorations were digitally designed and made. The metal framework of the removable partial denture was cast from resin pattern using an additive manufacturing technique, and the artificial resin teeth were replaced with the zirconia onlays for occlusal stability. These full mouth rehabilitation procedures provided functionally and aesthetically satisfactory results for the patient.

  • Visible-infrared image fusion is a process of synthesizing an infrared image and a visible image into a fused image. This process synthesizes the complementary advantages of both images. The infrared image is able to capture a target object in dark or foggy environments. However, the utility of the infrared image is hindered by the blurry appearance of objects. On the other hand, the visible image clearly shows an object under normal lighting conditions, but it is not ideal in dark or foggy environments. In this paper, we propose a multi-guided filter and a real-time image fusion method. The proposed multi-guided filter is a modification of the guided filter for multiple guidance images. Using this filter, we propose a real-time image fusion method. The speed of the proposed fusion method is much faster than that of conventional image fusion methods. In an experiment, we compare the proposed method and the conventional methods in terms of quantity, quality, fusing speed, and flickering artifacts. The proposed method synthesizes 57.93 frames per second for an image size of $320{\times}270$. Based on our experiments, we confirmed that the proposed method is able to perform real-time processing. In addition, the proposed method synthesizes flicker-free video.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient edge preserving smoothing filter for Infrared image that can reduce noise while preserving edge information. Infrared images suffer from low signal-to-noise ratio, low edge detail information and low contrast. So, detail enhancement and noise reduction play crucial roles in infrared image processing. We first apply a guided image filter as a local analysis. After the filtering process, we optimization globally using relativity of guided image filter. Our method outperforms the previous methods in removing the noise while preserving edge information and detail enhancement.

  • In a edentulous patient, various methods can be employed for prosthetic treatment using implants, such as implant-supported fixed prostheses, overdentures, hybrid prostheses, and implant assisted removable partial denture. In this case, in a patient with moderate to severe chronic periodontitis requiring full arch extractions, implants were strategically placed using computer-guided surgery. In the maxilla, due to inadequate bone quality and quantity leading to insufficient initial stability, delayed loading was implemented, and interim prosthesis was used during the osseointegration period. In the mandible, stable initial stability was achieved, allowing for immediate loading to reduce patient discomfort. Primary stability is considered the most crucial factor for obtaining immediate loading, so a thorough clinical and radiological evaluation of the remaining alveolar bone quantity and quality must be conducted before surgery.

  • With the advent of the information society, image restoration technology has aroused considerable interest. Guided image filtering is more effective in suppressing noise in homogeneous regions, but its edge-preserving property is poor. As such, the critical part of guided filtering lies in the selection of the guided image. The result of the Expected Patch Log Likelihood (EPLL) method maintains a good structure, but it is easy to produce the ladder effect in homogeneous areas. According to the complementarity of EPLL with guided filtering, we propose a method of coupling EPLL and guided filtering for image de-noising. The EPLL model is adopted to construct the guided image for the guided filtering, which can provide better structural information for the guided filtering. Meanwhile, with the secondary smoothing of guided image filtering in image homogenization areas, we can improve the noise suppression effect in those areas while reducing the ladder effect brought about by the EPLL. The experimental results show that it not only retains the excellent performance of EPLL, but also produces better visual effects and a higher peak signal-to-noise ratio by adopting the proposed method.

  • We propose a novel method for the registration of 3D CT scans to 2D endoscopic images during the image-guided medialization laryngoplasty. This study aims to allow the surgeon to find the precise configuration of the implant and place it into the desired location by employing accurate registration methods of the 3D CT data to intra-operative patient and interactive visualization tools for the registered images. In this study, the proposed registration methods enable the surgeon to compare the outcome of the procedure to the pre-planned shape by matching the vocal folds in the CT rendered images to the endoscopic images. The 3D image fusion provides an interactive and intuitive guidance for surgeon by visualizing a combined and correlated relationship of the multiple imaging modalities. The 3D Magic Lens helps to effectively visualize laryngeal anatomical structures by applying different transparencies and transfer functions to the region of interest. The preliminary results of the study demonstrated that the proposed method can be readily extended for image-guided surgery of real patients.

  • When oral restoration is performed with a full mouth implant-supported fixed restoration in an edentulous patient, it is very important to determine the shape and position of the definitive prosthesis in consideration of the anatomical state and the relationship with the antagonist, and the process of placing multiple implants in the planned direction and angle is very important. In this case, implants were ideally planned based on an upper prosthesis through a computer-guided surgical procedure for an edentulous maxillary patient who visited due to discomfort in the existing denture. Through this, we would like to report this because we obtained satisfactory functional and esthetic results for both the patient and the operator with the treatment of oral restoration by manufacturing a fixed prosthesis for maxillary and full jaw implants.

다양한 스케일의 한국어 오픈 소스 LLM(Polyglot1.3B, PolyGlot3.8B, PolyGlot5.8B)에 대해서 Self-Guided Approach를 활용한 성능 개선을 확인했다.

  • In this paper, we propose an adaptive histogram projection technique for dynamic range compression and an efficient detail enhancement method which is enhancing strong edge while reducing noise. First, The high dynamic range image is divided into low-pass component and high-pass component by applying 'guided image filtering'. After applying 'guided filter' to high dynamic range image, second, the low-pass component of the image is compressed into 8-bit with the adaptive histogram projection technique which is using global standard deviation value of whole image. Third, the high-pass component of the image adaptively reduces noise and intensifies the strong edges using standard deviation value in local path of the guided filter. Lastly, the monitor display image is summed up with the compressed low-pass component and the edge-intensified high-pass component. At the end of this paper, the experimental result show that the suggested technique can be applied properly to the IR images of various scenes.
