  • In this paper, we propose application training kit using parallel port circuit of standard architecture in computer system. The proposed training kit is verified through the design of hardware board and a virtual driving test using GUI method in VC++ under window XP operating system.

  • 최근의 프로그래밍 패러다임은 객체지향프로그래밍과 이를 기반으로 하는 비주얼프로그래밍이 주류를 이루고 있다. 그러나 객체지향프로그래밍은 기존의 구조적프로그래밍기법에 비하여 개념이 어렵고 복잡하여 IT 관련학과 학생들을 교육하기에 어려움이 많았다. 본 연구에서는 학생들이 다양한 입출력 장치를 부착하고 로봇제어가 가능한 트레이닝 키트를 사용하여 객체지향 프로그래밍 학습 의욕 고취와 동기를 유발할 수 있도록 Java 가상머신을 내장한 Java 로봇 트레이닝 키트를 설계하고 구현하였다. 개발된 Java 로봇 트레이닝 키트는 USB 인터페이스로 컴퓨터와 통신 가능하며, 다양한 입출력 장치와 DC 모터 및 서보모터를 구동할 수 있는 범용 입출력 포트를 내장하여 교육용 로봇제작과 응용프로그래밍 실습이 가능하다. 따라서 IT 융합시대를 맞이하여 학문과 전공간의 벽이 낮아지고 창의 공학적 객체지향 프로그래밍언어 교육의 도입이 필요한 시점에서 본 연구에서 개발한 Java 로봇 트레이닝 키트가 많은 기여를 할 것으로 기대된다.

AVR 시스템의 원격 실습방법 (Remote practice of AVR system)

  • 본 논문은 AVR 실습키트를 원격으로 실습할 수 있도록 카메라, 아두이노, AVR 실습키트를 이용하여 원격실습 키트를 구현한다. 구현된 시스템은 원격지에서 한번에 한사람씩 다수의 사용자가 실습을 수행할 수 있다. 실습자는 PC의 원격제어 방법을 이용하여 AVR Studio 프로그램을 작성하고 AVR 실습키트에 다운로드 한다. 그리고, 버튼 입력, 가변저항 입력은 컴퓨터 프로그램을 작성하여 마우스를 클릭하거나 드래그 하면 입력 신호는 아두이노에 전달되고 아두이노는 실제 버튼 입력신호나 아날로그 전압을 AVR 키트에 전달한다. 입력 신호를 받아서 AVR 키트가 동작하면 카메라를 통해서 동작 모습을 확인 할 수 있다. 따라서 구현된 시스템을 이용하면 다수의 사용자가 하나의 키트를 이용하여 AVR 실습을 수행할 수 있다.

  • It is very difficult for students to understand "Computer System Architecture" written by M. Morris Mano only through theoretical education. This study has developed DigCom as a computer architecture practice kit to make it easier for students to understand computer operations. The practice kit operates in the same manner as the "simple computer" described in Computer System Architecture. The purpose of this study is to examine whether using DigCom is effective in improving learning outcomes. For the purpose, t-test and two-way ANOVA were used to determine if there is any difference in learning outcomes between the experimental group of students who used DigCom and the control group who took the course in a traditional setting without using DigCom. The main conclusions of the study are as follows: Students understand computer operations better when DigCom is used in class.

  • This paper proposes an embedded system that detects mask and face recognition based on a microprocessor instead of Nvidia Jetson Board what is popular development kit. We use a class of efficient models called Mobilenets for mobile and embedded vision applications. MobileNets are based on a streamlined architechture that uses depthwise separable convolutions to build light weight deep neural networks. The device used a Maix development board with CNN hardware acceleration function, and the training model used MobileNet_V2 based SSD(Single Shot Multibox Detector) optimized for mobile devices. To make training model, 7553 face data from Kaggle are used. As a result of test dataset, the AUC (Area Under The Curve) value is as high as 0.98.

  • The CanSat was designed as an educational satellite simulation program that implements the overall system of the satellite such as the command processing unit, the communication unit, and the power unit in a structure of the size of a can. In particular, the training effect is very excellent because the trainee can learn a process similar to the actual satellite development process by designing, manufacturing, testing, and launching. Republic of Korea Air Force Academy has been using the CanSat production kit used by the domestic can satellite contest experience department for education, but since it was produced based on PCB, it was impossible to show creativity and operation was restricted even with small mistakes. In this paper, we analyze the existing CanSat kit and propose a new educational CanSat kit that can be used in creative engineering design and practice subjects that will be reorganized into a regular course from 2021, and a lesson plan. In conclusion, by using the proposed CanSat kit for lectures, it is possible to achieve educational purposes and effects, improve lecture satisfaction, and provide stable instruction.

  • This paper proposes a control board that includes PNP function with extensibility and effective allocation of allocation. The object of study is to overcome limited extensity of old systems and it is to reuse the system. The system recognizes automatic subsystem from application of main system with board level that is using hardware and software co-design method. The system has both function of main-board and sub-board. So one system can operate simultaneously such as module of alien system. This system has advantages that are fast execution, according as process functional partition to hardware/ software co-design and board size is reduced as well as offer extensity of development system. We obtained good result with control board for existent Z-80 training kit.

Enhancing Quality Teaching in Operations Management: An Action Learning Approach

  • Action learning motivates students to solve open-ended problems by 'developing skills through doing'. This paper reviews the concept of action learning and discusses the adoption of action learning approach to teach operations management at universities. It presents the design and delivery of an action-learning course at City University of Hong Kong. The course incorporates classroom lectures, tutorials and an action-learning workshop. The experience gained proves that action learning facilitates student participation and teamwork and provides a venue of accelerating learning where enables students to handle dynamic problem situations more effectively. The paper concludes that adopting action-learning approach can help lecturers to enhance quality teaching in operations management courses, and provide an alternate means of effective paradigm other than traditional classroom teaching and/or computer-based training at universities.

심층신경망을 이용한 PCB 부품의 인쇄문자 인식 (Recognition of Characters Printed on PCB Components Using Deep Neural Networks)

  • Recognition of characters printed or marked on the PCB components from images captured using cameras is an important task in PCB components inspection systems. Previous optical character recognition (OCR) of PCB components typically consists of two stages: character segmentation and classification of each segmented character. However, character segmentation often fails due to corrupted characters, low image contrast, etc. Thus, OCR without character segmentation is desirable and increasingly used via deep neural networks. Typical implementation based on deep neural nets without character segmentation includes convolutional neural network followed by recurrent neural network (RNN). However, one disadvantage of this approach is slow execution due to RNN layers. LPRNet is a segmentation-free character recognition network with excellent accuracy proved in license plate recognition. LPRNet uses a wide convolution instead of RNN, thus enabling fast inference. In this paper, LPRNet was adapted for recognizing characters printed on PCB components with fast execution and high accuracy. Initial training with synthetic images followed by fine-tuning on real text images yielded accurate recognition. This net can be further optimized on Intel CPU using OpenVINO tool kit. The optimized version of the network can be run in real-time faster than even GPU.

시각장애인을 위한 점자 교육 시스템 (OnDot: Braille Training System for the Blind)

  • 본 논문에서는 기존의 점자 학습 제품의 단점들을 보완한 점자 교육 시스템을 다룬다. 시각장애인 전용 어플리케이션은 사용자 편의성을 위해 터치 제스처 및 음성 안내를 통하여 전체 기능을 수행할 수 있도록 구성한다. 점자키트는 아두이노와 3D 프린팅을 통해 교육 목적에 맞게 제작한다. 시스템은 다음과 같은 기능들을 지원한다. 첫 째, 초성·종성·모음·약어 등 기초적인 점자의 학습. 둘 째, 단계별 퀴즈를 풀어 학습한 점자를 확인하는 기능. 셋 째, 모르는 점자가 있을 때 번역하는 기능이다. 실험을 통한 터치 제스처의 인식률과 점자 표현의 정확도를 확인하였고 번역의 경우 의도한대로 번역이 되는 것을 확인하였다. 이 시스템을 통해 시각장애인이 효율적으로 점자를 학습할 수 있다.
