센서리스 위치오차보상기능을 가지고 있는 공기압축기 구동용 영구자석 동기모터의 센서리스 속도제어 (Sensorless Speed Control of PMSM for Driving Air Compressor with Position Error Compensator)

  • 본 논문은 무급유식 공기 압축기가 널리 확산됨에 따라 영구자석형 동기 모터를 이용한 고효율 공기 압축기의 센서리스 제어에 관한 논문이다. 공기 압축기는 특성상 위치 센서를 설치하기 어려운 문제를 가지고 있다. 영구자석형 동기모터를 가변속 제어하기 위해서는 회전자의 위치를 파악하기 위한 위치센서가 필수적이다. 따라서 영구자석형 동기모터를 압축기에 활용하기 위해서는 센서리스제어가 필수적이다. 센서리스제어 방식으로 널리 사용되고 있는 역기전력을 통한 위치추정방식은 정지좌표계의 사용으로 인한 위상지연으로 인한 위치오차가 발생하게 되거나, 동기좌표계의 사용으로 인한 과도상태에서 추정역기전력이 오차를 포함하여 발산의 문제 등이 발생되는 문제가 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 회전각 추적 관측기를 사용하여 위치와 속도를 추정하고 외란 관측기를 통하여 속도의 리플을 저감시키는 방안을 제시하였다. 프리스케일사의 MPU를 이용하여 실험장치를 구성하고 구현실험을 통하여 제안한 알고리즘의 타당성을 검토하였다. 일정 시점에서 위치오차를 강제로 주더라도 위치보정 값이 위치오차 값을 찾아가며 추정위치가 실제 벡터 위치로 수렴해감을 검증하였다.

Control of Linear Compressor System Using Virtual AC Capacitor

  • Recently, linear compressors of cooling systems such as refrigerators, which have a free piston driven by a linear motor, have attracted much attention because of their high efficiency. For structural reasons, linear compressors applied in refrigerators should use an AC capacitor to ensure stable control. However, AC capacitors are expensive and bulky. In this paper, we propose a new method to realize stable control without a real AC capacitor by implementing a virtual AC capacitor with software. To realize a virtual AC capacitor, a pure integral is calculated. Nonetheless, if an offset current exists, the calculation may diverge to infinity. To solve this problem, a high-pass filter is applied and the compensation for the phase angle and magnitude are realized with a new method. Finally, a virtual AC capacitor enables variable frequency operations. Hence, in case of a lack of voltage, we can compensate by running the linear compressor in high-frequency operations. To improve efficiency, we may optimize the operation frequency. The validity of a virtual AC capacitor has been verified through simulations and experimental results.

로타리 압축기의 가스맥동에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Gas Pulsation in a Rotary Compressor)

  • For a discharge system of rotary compressor, analytical investigation on the discharge gas pulsation has been carried out. With the aid of four pole theory, acoustic impedance of the discharge system composed of muffler and cavities on both sides of motor with gas passages between them can be calculated using discrete acoustic elements described by transfer matrices, yielding the relationship between discharge mass flow rate and gas pulsation at the discharge port. This method of predicting the gas pulsation was validated by measurement data. Effects of change in discharge muffler geometries on the gas pulsation also were investigated, demonstrating that this method can be used for muffler design.

왕복동식 공기압축기의 소음 발생원 분석 연구 (Noise Source Evaluation for Reciprocating Type Air Compressor)

  • This paper is to investigate noise source for reciprocating type air compressors. The reciprocating type air compressors are widely used in the small and medium sized enterprise and many employees are affected and irritated by their noise during working. The investigation and analysis of the noise source were made according to the ISO 1680/1 and MIL-STD 7410-1 and noise evaluation of each part of compressors was made. Noise emitted from the intake and exhaust valve and the air receiver tank were dominant compared with those from other parts of compressor. Noise from the motor and the revolution of crank mechanism was negligible relatively with the noise sources as mentioned above.

  • Auxiliary air compressor(ACM) applied to railroad cars is a device which controls amount of compressed air in order that pantographs can be mounted correctly on the roof of an electric train. Existing ACMs consist of dc motors and brushes wear out due to friction with a commutator. Therefore, continuous maintenance is required. However, three phase BLDC motors have higher power density compared to dc motors and the machine maintenance is not needed because electric commutation is possible. The three phase generally uses hall sensors to get position information and this enables the accurate control. This paper suggests an algorithm that compensates the errors occurred when the hall sensors have a breakdown for stable operation.

차량용 에어컨의 성능에 미치는 인자에 관한 연구 (Parametric Study on Performance of an Automobile Air Conditioner)

  • This study was conducted to find performance evaluation method for automobile air conditioner. Experimental facilities were constructed to simulate wide range of operating condition for the automobile air conditioner. Compressor speed was controled by variable speed electric motor and the power was measured through torque transducer and tachometer was used to measure compressor speed. Parametric studies were conducted in this study, to figure out effect of environment variables on the performance of the automobile air conditioner. The environmental variables are inlet air temperature, relative humidity and air flow rate for the evaporator and inlet air temperature and air flow rate for the condenser. Compressor speed is also changed. The results of this study shows that air flow rate of the evaporator is more sensitive to the performance of the automobile air conditioner than the other variables. However relative humidity of the inlet air of the evaporator strongly affects capacity rather that COP.

  • A 600HP class high-speed gear driven 3-stage turbo-compressor (IGCC : Integrally Geared Centrifugal Compressor) driven by a 3600 rpm AC induction motor has been designed, of which low speed pinion runs at 35000 rpm and high speed pinion at 50000 rpm nominally. Due to its high speed operation, the system requires very reliable bearing selection and design as well as accurate rotordynamic analysis and prediction of its dynamic behavior to secure the operating reliability. Rotordaynamic analyses of the IGCC rotor-bearing system predicted that the low speed pinion rotor mounted on 5-pad tilting pad bearings has two critical speeds before its design speed and high speed pinion rotor only one critical speed, and estimated critical speeds of both pinion shafts are away from the continuous operating speed enough to satisfy the corresponding API requirement. The forced response analysis with API specified maximum allowable unbalances also showed that unbalance responses are small enough for smooth operation of the system.

유한요소-전달행렬법에 의한 스크롤 압축기 크랭크축의 과도 동적 해석 (Transient Dynamic Analysis of Scroll Compressor Crankshaft Using Finite Element-Transfer Matrix Method)

  • The dynamic behavior of crankshaft-bearing system in scroll compressor has been investigated using the combined methodologies of finite elements and transfer matrices. The finite element formulation is proposed including the field element for a shaft section and the point element at balancer weight locations, bearing locations, etc., whereas the conventional method is used with the elements. The Houbolt method is used to consider the time march for the integration of the system equations. The linear stiffness and damping coefficients are calculated for a finite cylindrical fluid-film bearing by solving the Reynolds equation, using finite difference method. The orbital response of crankshaft supported on the linear bearing model is obtained, considering balancer weights of motor rotor. And, the steady state displacement of crankshaft are compared with a variation in balancer weight. The loci of crankshaft at bearing locations are composed of the synchronous whirl component and the non-synchronous whirl component.

  • 본 논문에서는 회전형 압축기용 단상유도 전동기의 부하 matching 설계에 관하여 다루었다. 압축기 내부에서의 전동기 운전 온도를 알기 위해 압축기 실험을 행하였고 부하 토크를 추정하기 위해 전동기의 상온 및 실기조건 실험을 행하였다. 추정된 부하 토크를 적용하여 재설계 및 기존 전동기와 비교 검토하였다.

Torque Ripple Reduction Method in a Sensorless Drive for the BLDC Motor

  • This paper presents a method to reduce the commutation torque ripple in a position sensorless brushless DC motor drive. To compensate the commutation torque ripple considerably, the duration of commutation must be known. The proposed method measures the duration of commutation from the terminal voltage of the motor, calculates a PWM duty ratio using the measured commutation interval to suppress the commutation torque ripple, and applies it to the calculated PWM duty ratio only during the next commutation. Experimental results show that pulsating currents and vibrations are considerably reduced when the proposed method is applied to a position sensorless brushless DC motor drive for the air-conditioner compressor.
