  • Preservation of wooden structure due to deterioration and corrosion is based on preservation of original form, and wooden member should not be arbitrarily replaced or damaged. Accordingly, preservation processing method with synthetic resins is embossed. But it has an adverse effect because there is no exact standard for the reinforcement ratio with the synthetic. This paper experimental study for reinforcement ratio of wooden compressive member with synthetic resins, Reinforced ratio on section area of compressive member and direction. As a result, synthetic resin reinforcement selected as experimental variables by proper ratio enhanced compressive capacity of reinforced wooden member, than new wooden member.

  • This study investigates experimentally flexural behavior and CFB(Carbon Fiber Bar) reinforcing effects of timber sleeper in traditional storied tower house. As a test result, standard sleepers without CFB(Carbon Fiber Bar) reinforcement show flexural cracks at the bottom member at the beginning of loading stage and leads to fracture. However, reinforced specimens with CFB show initial shrinkage at the upper part of specimen by compression, instead of flexural cracks at the bottom, and finally show compressive failure or fracture after failure of CFB and it proves that reinforcing effects by CFB are exerted from early loading. Reinforced specimens showed higher strength in yield strength by 6%~38%, and ultimate strength by 8%~17%, than those of standard specimens. Reinforced specimen is considered that specimen with flexural reinforcement using CFB can expect flexural deflection control effect. Reinforced specimen shows higher ductile coefficient increase of average 141% compared than standard specimens and it proves that higher structural ductile behavior can be expected in reinforced specimens.

  • Block-glued glulam is a structural material that can be used as a construction member of a large-section wooden building, which is produced by edgewise bonding of two or more glulam beam elements. The edgewise bonding performance of the block-glued glulam was examined through delamination test and block shear strength test. According to the test results, the block-glued glulam that was manufactured with 1.5 MPa of compressive pressure after applying $500g/m^2$ of Resorcinol adhesive showed the best edgewise bonding performance. The block-glued glulam produced in a good edgewise bonding condition was compared with a control glulam with the same section modulus for bending strength performance. The modulus of elasticity (MOE) in bending was similar to that of the control glulam. The modulus of rupture (MOR) of the block-glued glulam was higher by 27% than that of the control glulam. No interfacial failure or cohesive failure were observed in the edgewise bonding layer.
