Addressing urban noise problems, this study develops eco-friendly, inorganic sound-absorbing panels, overcoming the limitations of traditional PMMA and cement-based panels. These conventional panels pose safety risks due to flammability and environmental concerns due to carbon emissions. Utilizing industrial waste, the research comprises two phases: initial tests for physical and performance characteristics (fluidity, density, compressive strength, sound absorption) and subsequent development of optimized panel mixtures. This approach aims to replace existing panels with sustainable, effective alternatives, significantly contributing to safer, environmentally responsible urban infrastructure. The findings of this study have implications for the sound panel market, offering novel solutions for noise control while aligning with environmental and safety standards.
The success of porcelain laminate veneer depends on the bond strength between tooth structure and ceramic restoration and the design of tooth preparation. In particular, incisal coverage and incisal finish line are the two most important factors in long-term fracture resistance. Although the majority of clinicians are practicing incisal coverage and there are various opinions on the geo-metrical ratio between the clinical crown length of the remaining tooth structure and the length of incisal extension in porcelain laminate veneer and the optimal incisal finish lines. scientific evidence still loaves much to be desired. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of the amounts of incisal coverage and the types of incisal finish line on the stress distribution in maxillary anterior porcelain laminate veneers under two different loading conditions. Three-dimensional finite element models of a maxillary anterior porcelain veneer with differ-ent amounts of incisal coverage ; 0, 1, 2, and 3mm and different incisal finish lines feathered edge, incisal bevel, reverse bevel and lingual chamfer with various amounts of lingual extension were developed. 300N force was applied at the point 0.5mm cervical of the linguoincisal edge in two loading conditions ; A) 125 degrees, B) 132 degrees. Tensile and compressive stress in ceramic and shear stress in the resin cement layer were analyzed using three-dimensional finite element method. The results were as follows : 1. The types of incisal finish line had more influence on the stress distribution in porcelain laminate veneer than the amounts of incisal coverage. 2. In case of no incisal coverage, incisal beveled laminate exhibited more evenly distributed tensile stress than feathered edged laminate. And in case of incisal coverage, reverse beveled laminate and lingual chamfered laminate with 1mm lingual extension exhibited more evenly distributed tensile stress than lingual chamfered laminates with 2mm and 3mm lingual extension. 3. As long as the lingual chamfer goes, less tensile stress was found at the incisal edge, while much more tensile stress was found at the lingual margin area in proportion to the length of lingual extension. 4. Under 125 degree load, tensile stress in porcelain laminate veneer had increased compared with that under 132 degree load and the difference exhibited by the change of the amount of tooth support was larger. 5. The types of incisal finish line and the distance from the incisal finish line to the loading point had more influence on the shear stress distribution in the resin cement layer than the amounts of incisal coverage. In contrast loading condition had little influence.
In order to maximize the recycling of converter slag to the more valuable fields, such as high quality aggregates for construction, cement industry and flux for ion making. It will be very important to control the compositions and properties of converter slag to suit the purpose of utilizastion. In this study, converter slag (STELCO, CANADA) was mixed with 5%~30% $SiO_2$and 7% carbon, and then reduced at $1650^{\circ}C$. After the reduction was completed, the reformed slags were cooled to room temperature in the furnace. All of the slags were then characterized using SEM-EDX, XRD and chemical analysis. Also the compressive strengths and densities of the reformed slags were measured to compare with natural aggregates. XRD analysis shows that th phases of reformed slags are changed from bredigite+merwinite mixed phases of 10% $SiO_2$added reduction to akermanite phases of 20% and 30% $SiO_2$ added reduction. But the SEM-EDX analysis revealed that the phase distribution of the reformed slags was changed very sensitively and complicately depends on the change of slag compositions. And also the properties of reformed slags are changed very much depend on the phase distribution. About one third of Cadmium and on fifth of Vanadium are remained in reduction reformed converter slag. Another heavy metal elements such as cobalt, zinc, lead are removed up to more than 90-95% of original slag. The compressive strength and density of 25% $SiO_2$ added and reformed slag is very near to natural granite. This is superior more than 10% to Thyssen's $SiO_2$ added and oxidized converter slag aggregates.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of capsulated slurry phase change material (PCM) on the thermal crack in mass concrete by experimental work and FEM analysis. In this study, three conditions of samples were prepared for evaluating the level of hydration heat, i.e., a material condition, a cement paste condition and a concrete condition. Also, a compressive strength test was conducted for FEM inverse analysis. Based on the results of the experiment, exothermic function coefficients of concrete with encapsulated slurry PCM were deducted by the inverse analysis. After that, they applied to FEM analysis of the mass scale concrete structures. From the results of this experiment, $31^{\circ}C$ capsulated slurry PCM had no super cooling phenomenon in the material condition. In the cement condition, hydration heat decreased by 34.61J when PCM of 1g was mixed. In the concrete condition, PCM of 6% was deducted as the best level in hydration heat absorption. In FEM inverse analysis, rate coefficient of reaction gradually decreased when PCM mixing ratio increased. But, temperature-rise coefficient increased when PCM mixing ratio exceeded 6%. For the inversed exothermic function coefficients applying to large scale concrete structures, a thermal cracking index increased by 0.05 when PCM of 1% was mixed.
This study is to evaluate an effect of supports with respect to these supports after comparing the characteristic of support between rock bolt of a widely used type and spiral bolt of a new type. For these purposes, we performed pull-out test in laboratory about rock and spiral bolts in the case of cement-mortar grout curing periods, 7 and 28 days, then calculated pull-out load, displacement, external pressure, inner pressure and shear stress using data obtained from the results of pull-out test, respectively. In relation between pull-out load and displacement, displacement of spiral bolt is larger than one of rock bolt. It is considered that mechanical property of rock bolt is due to larger than one of spiral bolt. In addition, displacement of supports shows nearly same or decreasing with curing periods. We found that because adhesive force between supports and cement-mortar grout is increasing with compressive strength of grout according to curing periods. The inner pressure of spiral bolt is represented larger than one of rock bolt at a step of same pull-out load. It is suggested that spiral bolt is more stable than rock bolt, maintaining stability of ground or rock mass, when supports are installed in a ground or rock mass under the same condition. Putting together with above results, we can consider that spiral bolt as a new support on an aspect of pull-out load and inner pressure is larger than rock bolt in a ground or rock mass under the same condition. Moreover, spiral bolt is more effective support than rock bolt, considering an economical and constructive aspects of supports, as well as ground or rock stability before or after installing supports.

Converter steel slag(BOF slag) is a vast amount of solid waste generated in the steelmaking process which has very low utilization rate in Korea. Due to the presence of free CaO which can derive bad volume stability in BOF slag, it usually land filled. For recycling BOF and identify its applicability as fine aggregate, this study investigates the fundamental characteristics of mortar with cement replaced ferronickel slag(FNS), which has the potential to be used as a binder. The results suggest that the mineral phases of BOF slag mainly include larnite(CaSiO4), mayenite(Ca12Al14O33) and wuestite(FeO) while olivine crystallines are shown in FNS. The results of flow and setting time reveals that the flowability and process of hardening increased when the amount of FNS and BOF slag incorporated was increased. The length change shows that the amount of change in the length of the mortar was almost constant regardless of mix proportion while compressive strength was reduced. Micro structure test results revealed that FNS or/and BOF slag mix took a long time to react in the cement matrix to form a complete hydration products. To achieve the efficient utilization of B OF slag as construction materials, proper replacement rate is necessary.

Since the 3D printing mortar is exposed to the atmosphere immediately after printing, moisture is largely evaporated from the surface of the layer. The evaporation of moisture on the surface of the layer greatly causes drying shrinkage and increases the risk of cracking and damage to the structure due to drying shrinkage. This study experimentally evaluated the shrinkage behavior of the initial age using the mortar used for 3D printing. The change in shrinkage was evaluated by comparing the shrinkage of the specimen cured by the sealing method and the atmospheric exposure method. In addition, compared with the case where type 1 cement was used 100%, the shrinkage amount was evaluated when 20% of fly ash was replaced and 10% of silica fume was used. In particular, the effect of three chemical admixtures applied using 3D printing on shrinkage was evaluated experimentally. When fly ash and silica fume were used, the shrinkage amount increased by 60 - 110% compared to the case when type 1 cement was used. The application of viscosity modifiers and shrinkage reducers reduced the shrinkage by at least 18% and at most 70% depending on the curing conditions. The temperature of the specimen temporarily decreased to 15 ℃ at the beginning of curing, and the correlation between the internal temperature of the specimen and the shrinkage behavior was observed.
This research intends to understand the impact of super-absorbent polymer (SAP) as an internal curing agent in Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC). Two different types of SAPs of acrylic acid (SAP_AA) and acrylic acid-co-acrylamide (SAP_AM) were examined with UHPC formulation. Isothermal calorimetry and x-ray diffraction experiments revealed the impact of polymers with the different chemical bonds on cement hydration. To test its feasibility as a shrinkage reducing admixture for UHPC, a series of experiments including flowability, compressive strength, rapid chloride permeability and autogenous shrinkage profile was performed. While both SAPs showed a reduction in autogenous shrinkage, it has been concluded that the SAP size and chemical form significantly affect the performance as an internal curing agent in UHPC by controlling cement hydration and porosity modification. Between the tested SAPs, SAP_AM which absorbs more water in UHPC than SAP_AA, shows better mechanical and durability performance.
To improve the vulnerable point and the mechanical property of the existing lightweight foamed concrete, this study was intend to manufacture the lightweight foamed concrete with wasted expanded poly-styrene, examinate and analyze the mechanical property of its. The experiment was being processed with mixing the wasted expanded poly-styrene maximum 40 % by stages and which was mainly basis on the practical mixture. The results of the experiment are following. The flow value is most affected by the mixtured rate of the wasted expanded poly-styrene. The more the mixtured ratio, the less the flow value and the more the more the unit quantity of cement and the W/C, the more the flow value. The apparent specific gravity indicated 0.31∼0.54 and which is seemed to be mainly included in the 0.4 degree and 0.5 degree that are regulated in the KS F 4039. The more the mixtured wasted poly-styrene ratio, the less the apparent specific gravity. The absorbing ratio which was depend on the mixture condition indicated 11 ∼46% and the more the mixtured ratio of the wasted expanded poly-styrene, the less the absorbing ratio remarkably. The compressive strength of the lightweight foamed concrete had a tendency to increase as the mixtured ratio of the wasted poly-styrene, the ratio quantity of cement and the apparent specific gravity increasing but as the ratio of bubble decreasing. The W/C affected little.

It is known that the best way to recycle fly ash is to use in concrete. It is impossible to bury in the ground this fly ash recently, so it is trying to use high volume fly ash concrete. Nevertheless, recent main research topics are focused in the part of material only. However, it is necessary to perform the researches about elasticity modulus, stress-strain relationship and structural behavior. Therefore, in this paper, 18 test members were manufactured with 3 test variables, namely fly ash replacement ratio 0, 35, 50%, concrete compressive strength 20, 40, 60MPa and 2 tensile steel ratio. 18 test members were tested for flexural behavior. From the test results, there were no differences between 35, 50% high volume fly ash cement concrete and ordinary concrete without fly ash (FA=0%). In order to evaluate the HVFAC flexural behavior, Analytical model was proposed and the computer program was developed. There were no differences between test results and analysis results. So, the proposed analytical model was reasonable.
