관입형 텐서그리티 구조시스템의 개발 및 공간구축을 위한 구조특성 분석 (A Development of Intersecting Tensegrity System and Analysis of Structural Features for Forming Space)

  • In this study, Intersecting Tensegrity System that is integrated solid compression members with tension members was presented. This system is set up by connecting upper and lower compression members of pyramid shape with exterior tension members. In this system, the solid compression members are intersected each other and connected by a tension member in the center. This system is a variation of Tensegrity system, has a improved feature that the system is able to induce prestresses in all of tension members easily by adjusting the distance of a tension member in the center. The proposed system was studied by modeling, and the structural behavior of the system was investigated by mechanical analysis of the model. Furthermore, the features of the structural behavior variations was investigated when the composition elements(total height, size of surface, intersection length, etc.) are changed variously. It was also showed that the system is able to be used as a temporary space structure system with a membrane roof of inverse conical shape.

  • The purpose of study is obtaining low-emission and high-efficiency in LPi engine with hydrogen enrichment. The test engine was named variable compression ratio single cylinder engine (VACRE). The fuel supply system provides LPG/hydrogen mixtures based on same heating value. A varied sensors such as crank shaft position sensor (CPS) and hall sensor supplies spark timing data to ignition controller. Displacement of VACRE is $1858.2cm^3$. VACRE was runned 1400rpm with compression ratio 8. Spark timing was set MBT without knocking. Relative air-fuel ratio($\lambda$) of this work was varied between 0,8 and 1.5.

Finite element simulation for steel tubular members strengthened with FRP under compression

  • Tubular steel sections are widespread all over the world because of their strength and aesthetic appearance. Tubular steel members may exhibit local buckling such as elephant foot or overall buckling under extreme compression load. Recently, external bonding of fiber reinforced polymers (FRP) sheets for strengthening these members has been explored through experimental research. This paper presents three-dimensional nonlinear finite element analysis (FEA) to investigate the structural behavior of strengthening tubular steel members with FRP against local and overall buckling phenomena. Out-of-roundness and out-of-straightness imperfections were introduced to the numerical models to simulate the elephant foot and overall buckling, respectively. The nonlinear analysis preferences such as the integration scheme of the shell elements, the algorithm for solution of nonlinear equations, the loading procedure, the bisection limits for the load increments, and the convergence criteria were set, appropriately enough, to successfully track the sophisticated buckling deformations. The agreement between the results of both the presented FEA and the experimental research was evident. The FEA results demonstrated the power of the presented rigorous FEA in monitoring the plastic strain distribution and the buckling phenomena (initiation and propagation). Consequently, the buckling process was interpreted for each mode (elephant foot and overall) into three sequential stages. Furthermore, the influence of FRP layers on the nonlinear analysis preferences and the results was presented.

  • 본 논문은 문자가 포함된 영상에서 문자의 가독성은 유지하면서 영상을 압축하고 복원하는 효율적인 방법을 제시한다. 본 논문에서 제시하는 방법은 문서 분할, Quincunx 다운샘플링, (5/3) 웨이블릿 리프팅 그리고 서브밴드별 SPIHT(Set Partitioning In Hierarchical Trees) 부호화 방법을 기반으로 하여 구축되었다. 부호화 과정에서는 Quincunx 다운샘를링과 서브밴드 SPIHT 부호화 방법을 사용하여 부호화 수행 시간을 단축하였으며 산술 부호화를 적용하여 SPIHT 부호기의 비트스트림을 더욱 압축하였다. 실험에서는, 복원된 영상을 제시하여 시스템의 성능을 압축율과 PSNR을 비교하고 분석하였다. 실험에서는, 복원된 영상을 제시하여 시스템의 성능을 확인할 수 있도록 하였으며, 여러 가지 양자화를 적용하여 제안한 SPIHT에 기반한 문서 압축 시스템의 압축율과 PSNR을 비교하고 분석하였다.

DFS를 이용한 추가 메모리를 요구하지 않는 제로트리 압축기법 (Zero-tree packetization without additional memory using DFS)

  • SPIHT는 수행속도가 빠르고 효율적인 웨이블릿 기반의 이미지 압축 알고리즘으로 잘 알려져 있다. 그러나, SPIHT는 알고리즘 수행에 필요한 제로트리 및 계수의 상태를 저장하기 위하여 리스트 구조를 사용하고 있어 추가 메모리론 요구하며, 비트율의 증가에 따라 메모리 요구량이 증가하는 단점을 가진다. 본 논문에서는 SPIHT 알고리즘을 수행하는데 있어 추가 메모리를 요구하지 않는 MZP-DFS 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안된 기법은 깊이우선 순서에 따라 공간트리를 탐색하고 테스트 함수 및 복원 계수의 LSB를 이용함으로써 추가 메모리를 제거하였으며 SPIHT와 동일한 성능을 가진다. MZP-DFS는 추가 메모리를 요구하지 않기 때문에 하드웨어 제작비용을 절감할 수 있으며, 각각의 공간트리를 병렬적으로 수행할 수 있기 때문에 실시간 이미지 압축에 적합하다.

Supervised-learning-based algorithm for color image compression

  • A correlation exists between luminance samples and chrominance samples of a color image. It is beneficial to exploit such interchannel redundancy for color image compression. We propose an algorithm that predicts chrominance components Cb and Cr from the luminance component Y. The prediction model is trained by supervised learning with Laplacian-regularized least squares to minimize the total prediction error. Kernel principal component analysis mapping, which reduces computational complexity, is implemented on the same point set at both the encoder and decoder to ensure that predictions are identical at both the ends without signaling extra location information. In addition, chrominance subsampling and entropy coding for model parameters are adopted to further reduce the bit rate. Finally, luminance information and model parameters are stored for image reconstruction. Experimental results show the performance superiority of the proposed algorithm over its predecessor and JPEG, and even over JPEG-XR. The compensation version with the chrominance difference of the proposed algorithm performs close to and even better than JPEG2000 in some cases.

디젤 엔진 연료 분사 타이밍 구간에서의 흡기 포트 스월비 1D 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 (1D Computer Simulation of Diesel Engine Intake Port Swirl Ratios Considering the Fuel Injection Timing Range)

  • This study was performed to calculate the swirl ratio of a diesel engine intake port by a 1D computer simulation under actual engine operating conditions. The swirl ratio of the intake port was simulated according to the change of the engine speed during the operation of the motoring without fuel injection. The swirl ratio of the intake port was simulated according to changes in the crank angle during the four-cycle operation of intake, compression, expansion and exhaust. The swirl ratio represented by the three regions of the piston, center and squish was simulated. Among the three regions, the piston-region swirl ratio is important for effective air-fuel mixing in the engine cylinder. In particular, it was confirmed during the simulation that the piston swirl ratio before and after the compression top dead center (TDC) point when fuel is injected in the DI diesel engine can have a significant effect on the mixing of air and fuel. It was desirable to set the average piston swirl ratio over a crank angle section before and after compression TDC as the representative swirl ratio of the cylinder head intake port according to the change of the engine speed.

  • A set of tests were accomplished in order to get better insight of the basic material properties of masonry made of normal concrete brick and different type of mortar compositions. Three different types of test were performed. Masonry unit and prism were tested by compressive strength test, Masonry wallets were tested by compressive strength test. Masonry wallets were tested in diagonally under tension. A significant influence of different mortar compositions on compression strength of masonry prism was observed, The tests have shown that for diagonal compression three different mode of failure were possible : tension crack along the loaded diagonal sliding along a mortar joint and combined sliding and diagonal crack according to the adhesive strength of a mortar.

A Study on Mechanical Properties of Acrylonitrile Butadiene Rubber Composites

  • The mechanical and dynamic properties according to the content of filler, plasticizer, and crosslinking agent of rubber composites for Lipseal were measured in this study. The mechanical properties of the composite including the silane coupling agent and silica were found to be superior to those of the composite containing carbon black. It was found that the rebound resilience characteristics were influenced by the crosslink density of sulfur rather than the filler or plasticizer. In the case of recovery, it was confirmed that the elastic restoring force improved in the compression deformation condition and recovery increased as the crosslinking density increased. The rubber composite for Lipseal of this study is expected to improve the manufacturing technology of the rubber composite which can implement the optimum function for recognizing the performance such as oil resistance, durability and compression set.

  • The objective of this study is to provide a simple methodology to find optimum processing conditions to fabricate sub-micron structured DVD-RAM substrates with superb optical and geometrical properties. It was found that the birefringence, which is regarded as one of the most important optical properties for an optical disk, was very sensitive to the mold wall temperature history. Also, the integrity of the replication, represented by the land-groove structure and the radial tilt were influenced by the mold temperature and the compression pressure. A set of optimum conditions were obtained by applying Design of Experiment and the objective functions composed of three different objectives.
