Subjects of the survey were the teachers of child edu-care centers in Daejeon. 95 teachers were selected from 20 child edu-care centers, using stratified random sampling method, from all of five municipal districts of the city. Gathered data were analyzed using SPSS 10.0 for reliability, factor analysis, frequency and percentile, mean, standard deviation, paired samples t-test and F-test. The summary of the findings were as follows: First, the result of survey on the child edu-care facts showed that the most child edu-care centers had the focus on caring and education programs of children, while emotional supports for family services and community social services were rather secondary importance. Therefore, to achieve the comprehensive service programs, child edu-care services should be harmonized by the education and welfare approaches. Second, centered around teacher's request, comprehensive child edu-care program that fits the regional characteristics focuses on family service; thus the program requires family group consulting, parents education etc., as well as focusing on community service to utilize local community's human, physical resources and to strengthen the tie between local community and child care services.

  • Background: The purpose of this study was to identify role ambiguity of comprehensive nursing care unit nurses. Methods: A concept analysis method by Walker and Avant was used to understand role ambiguity of comprehensive nursing care unit nurses. Results: The antecedents of role ambiguity of nurses at comprehensive nursing units were shortage of nurses, unclear admission criteria, and demands for customized nursing care according to severity. Attributes include ambiguity in role delegation, patient placement ambiguity, and professional ambiguity among nursing staff. The consequences were diminished job satisfaction due to excessive workload, difficulty in resolving role ambiguity due to the lack of work analysis studies, and poor outcome of nursing indicators. Conclusion: Improvement of nationwide awareness for comprehensive nursing care unit is required. Clear division at scope of practice for nursing staff in accordance of each medical institution's characteristics is essential. Nurses at comprehensive nursing care unit should understand nature of role ambiguity that occurs as they work in large groups. Nurses should promote communications between nursing staff and they must have volition to improve status quo. An additional research of comprehensive nursing care on the causes of role ambiguity in the practice of nursing care for ward nurses is needed, and management measures should be sought at the organizational level.

  • Purposes: This study aimed to compare the perception between nurses and patients about comprehensive care services and to evaluate patient-centeredness experiences at comprehensive nursing care units. Methodology: We enrolled 267 nurses and 184 patients from comprehensive nursing care units of seven general hospitals. We performed data collection and analysis using structured questionnaires and SPSS/PC 23.0 program, respectively, with frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and ${\chi}^2$. test. Findings: We observed a significant difference in perception about comprehensive nursing care services between nurses and patients(p < .001). While the patient-centeredness experience score was the highest in the nursing service, it was the lowest in patient right assurance. Regarding patients' right assurance, "easy-to-express complaints" and "opportunity to participate in decision making" exhibited the lowest score. Practical Implication: This study suggests that it is imperative to assess the above-mentioned problems comprehensively to enhance patient centeredness at comprehensive nursing care units.
