Reliability Analysis of Multistate Systems with Multistate Components (다항상태 부품으로 구성된 다항상태 시스템의 신뢰도 분석에 관한 연구)

  • Most of systems used in real fields are considered as multistate systems with multistate components. As one of methods for performance evaluation of the system, reliability analysis has been popularly used. In this paper, we propose an improved reliability analysis method which is based on state space decomposition method of Aven (1985). In deriving upper bounds, our method uses sets of unspecified states whereas Aven (1985) excludes sets of unacceptance states. Also, closer lower bounds to an exact reliability are obtained by considering of importance of min-path vectors.

  • Various diagnostic techniques have been proposed according to the development of the engineering. and the machine elements. Specially. since the bearing is an essential component in rotating Machine. Many researchers have been done an earler detection and a exact diagnosis of defects on bearing. In this study, the technique which differ from past diagnosises techniques in frequency domain such as Spectral analysis is proposed. Parametric ARMA model was utilized to define the system using tire series directly. Based on the resulted ARMA parameters, more precies and faster diagnosis system through Neural network was presented.

  • This paper proposes an approach to control the current amplitude and phase simultaneously. To do this, variable structure control and adaptive parameter estimation arc applied to the current control of a single-phase PWM inverter with unknown R-L series load. The load parameters, R and L, are estimated by using the recursive least square method and these parameters are used to adjust the feedback gains of control input. The inverter system is modelled in a 2nd-order system by treating load current variation caused by inductive component as a disturbance. Simulation and experiment based on the 2nd -order model are done and the results show good dynamic response and low THD.

  • A direct draft measurement system was developed based on the swingle tree- the rear component of the single-animal harnessing (or yoking) system . The prototype was made from a tube, on which four strain gages were attached. The pull of the draft animal through the flexible pull chains or ropes causes the beam to bend, The bending strain is sensed by the strain gages and the bridge converts this to a voltage signal. Counterweights keep the tube correctly oriented if the angle of pull changes , while end bearing follow the variations in the angle of pull. Hence, the voltage output is proportional to the draft. the device has highly linear response, acceptable sensitivity negligible error and hysteresis. It is suitable for electronic data acquisition, non-intrusive , easy to attach and detach and is reasonably priced.

  • In this paper, we design the Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor(TCSC) supplementary controller for oscillation damping of power system. Here the supplementary controller is designed as a fuzzy logic-based precompensation approach for TCSC. This scheme is easily implemented simply by adding a fuzzy precompensator to an existing TCSC. And we optimize the fuzzy precompensator with a genetic algorithm for complements the demerit such as the difficulty of the component selection of fuzzy controller, namely, scaling factor, membership function and control rules. Simulation results show that the proposed control technique is superior to a conventional method in dynamic responses over the wide range of operating conditions and is convinced robustness and reliableness in view of structure.

  • This paper is on 3D virtual reality simulator for terminal in connection with terminal operation system in real terminal in order to reflex complicated terminal operation and environment. This simulator has been developed based on knowledge of terminal planning and operation analysis and advanced software technologies that TSB has accumulated over 10 years. In this study, the simulator generates terminal layout and component of terminal in the same environments as the real terminal in Ohi, Japan and uses real operation system using real planning data in the past in order to describe 3D VR simulation that integrates container handling equipment and real time communication of job ordering. In addition, it is suggested various statistics and analysis report can be used to derive decision supporting factors that optimize design of terminal and improve operation, which will eventually increase terminal productivity.

  • This paper introduces an approach to semantic mapping using Product ontology for CPC environment. In CPC environment, it is necessary that the participants in a product life cycle should share the same understanding about the semantic of product terms. For example, they should know that although 'COMPONENT' and 'ITEM' are different word-expressions, they could have the same meaning. In order to handle such terms in the information system, it is desirable that the system automatically recognizes that the terms have the same semantics. Serving this purpose, we described an ontology design methodology using first order logic, knowledge interchange format, and knowledge engineering process. In our approach, we investigated domain knowledge of the Bill Of Material, and then designed Product ontology of it. Based on the ontology, we described syntactic translation, semantic translation, and semantic mapping procedure with an example.

  • Recently an automobile industry is concerned about an automobile wiring harness system. It means that development of component modules is on the increase. An importance of the connector in one part of the modules will be enhanced. A connector is made of P.B.T. (Poly Butylene Terephthalate). PBT is resistant to the high temperature. This paper deals with thermal strain of connector. According as temperature increase, effects of the temperature and thermal strains give an analysis of the deformation using ABAQUS. This apparent thermal strain results actually from the variation of temperature. Being based on this analysis, axiomatic design applies to design parameters of the connector. As compared with CAE analysis, a performance improvement makes certain of the truth of the matter.

  • This paper proposes a flywheel hybrid vehicle to solve the energy crisis problem by the exhaustion of a fossil fuel and air pollution for the conservation of environment. The proposed flywheel hybrid vehicle is composed of an accumulator and a flywheel as the energy generation and storage component and three variable displacement hydraulic pump/motors as the energy transfer devices. Flywheel has the characteristics of high energy density and easy energy absorption and consumption. The effectiveness of the energy-saving of the proposed flywheel hybrid vehicle is verified by simulation using Matlab/simulink. First of ail, analytical modeling for the flywheel hybrid vehicle is presented and simulations are performed based on the experimental efficiency data of a variable displacement pump/motor. The results of the simulation show that the effect of energy savings is realized by the proposed hybrid vehicle in 3 different city driving patterns.
