The Isolation and Evaluation of Bioactive Components from Crude Drugs against a Cariogenic Bacterium, Streptococcus mutans OMZ 176 (1) -On the Antibacterial Component of the Leaves of Liriodendron tulipifera and Its Safety- (충치균에 대한 생리활성 생약성분의 분리 및 약효평가(1) -튜립나무잎의 항균성 성분과 안전성에 대하여-)

  • The isolation and identification of an antibacterial component, from the leaves of Liriodendron tulipifera. K. Kotch against a cariogenic bacterium Streptococcus mutans OMZ 176, were carried out for developing of anticariogenic agents. The bioactive component was elucidated as ${\beta}-liriodenolide$, which was isolated newly from the leaves of L. tulipifera. The minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) of ${\beta}-liriodenolide$ was $100\;{\mu}g/ml$ and the antibacterial activity was stronger than that of berberine. ${\beta}-Liriodenolide$ inhibited ${\beta}-lactamase$ activity, 50, 100 and $200\;{\mu}M$ ${\beta}-liriodenolide$ did ${\beta}-lactamase$ activity as 0.7, 3.5 and 19.7%, respectively. The toxicity of ${\beta}-liriodenolide$ was not found with the method of photohemolysis.

  • Stress Granules (SGs) are microscopically visible, phase dense aggregates of translationally stalled messenger ribonucleoprotein (mRNP) complexes formed in response to distinct stress conditions. It is generally considered that SG formation is induced to protect cells from conditions of stress. The precise constituents of SGs and the mechanism through which SGs are dynamically regulated in response to stress are not completely understood. Hence, it is important to identify proteins which regulate SG assembly and disassembly. In the present study, we report Neuregulin-2 (NRG2) as a novel component of SGs; furthermore, depletion of NRG2 potently inhibits SG formation. We also demonstrate that NRG2 specifically localizes to SGs under various stress conditions. Knockdown of NRG2 has no effect on stress-induced polysome disassembly, suggesting that the component does not influence early step of SG formation. It was also observed that reduced expression of NRG2 led to marginal increase in cell survival under arsenite-induced stress.

A Study on Forecasting Spare Parts Demand based on Data-Mining (데이터 마이닝 기반의 수리부속 수요예측 연구)

  • Demand forecasting is one of the most critical tasks in defense logistics, because the failure of the task can bring about a huge waste of budget. Up to date, ROK-MND(Republic of Korea - Ministry of National Defense) has analyzed past component consumption data with time-series techniques to predict each component's demand. However, the accuracy of the prediction still needs to be improved. In our study, we attempted to find consumption pattern using data mining techniques. We gathered an 18,476 component consumption data first, and then derived diverse features to utilize them in identification of demanding patterns in the consumption data. The results show that our approach improves demand forecasting with higher accuracy.

Identification of Factors Influencing the Operability of Precast Concrete Construction Shipment Request Forms

  • Recently, interest in the precast concrete (PC) construction method has been increasing. The PC construction process consists of i) design, ii) production, iii) transportation, and iv) installation. A PC field manager at the site submits a shipment request form to the factory one to three days before the installation of the PC component. Numerous matters should be considered in writing a shipment request form. Incorrect shipment request forms may cause standby resources, waste of resources, premature work conclusion, or excessive work. These issues can lead to an increase in construction costs, replanning of PC component installation, or rework. In order to prevent such problems, PC component installation should be simulated based on the shipment request form. Accordingly, this study aims to identify factors influencing the operability of shipment request forms for PC construction. To this end, this study derived factors influencing i) initiation of the activity, ii) addition or deletion of activities, and iii) an increase or decrease in the activity execution time. As a result, this study identified flow, the features of PC components, condition of PC components, unloading location, installation location, input equipment and labor, number of anchors, number of supports, weather, strike, and accident. Further studies should verify the factors derived in this study based on focus group interviews.

  • 컴포넌트 기술은 소프트웨어를 개발하는데 있어서 재사용성을 높이는 효과적인 기술로 널리 사용되고 있다. 특히, 이 기술은 응용프로그램을 개발하는데 있어서 모듈을 조립하는 개발 패러다임의 변화에 공헌이 있다. 효과적인 사용을 위해서, 컴포넌트는 응용프로그램이 원하는 기능을 조립이 용이하게 제공하여야 한다. 그러나 이러한 컴포넌트의 기능을 할당하여 컴포넌트를 추출하는 방법은 도메인 전문가에 의하거나 Ad-hoc방식으로 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 컴포넌트의 기능성 추출을 위해 프로세스와 이를 구현한 툴을 보여주어 효과적인 기능단위의 컴포넌트를 추출될 것으로 기대된다.

  • In this paper, we propose a TSK-type fuzzy classifier using PCA(Principal Component Analysis), FCM(Fuzzy C-Means) clustering and hybrid GA(genetic algorithm). First, input data is transformed to reduce correlation among the data components by PCA. FCM clustering is applied to obtain a initial TSK-type fuzzy classifier. Parameter identification is performed by AGA(Adaptive Genetic Algorithm) and RLSE(Recursive Least Square Estimate). we applied the proposed method to Iris data classification problems and obtained a better performance than previous works.

  • 본 논문은 Biometrics분야 중 다른 생체학적 특징보다도 정확도면에서 가장 뛰어난 특징인 안구의 홍채 패턴을 이용하여 사용자를 인증 하는 시스템에 관한 연구이다. 입력된 안구 영상으로부터 전처리과정을 거쳐 극좌표 변환을 통해 홍채 패턴을 추출한 후 웨이블릿 변환을 이용하여 특징패턴을 압축하였으며, PCA(Principal Component Analysis:주성분 해석)의 한 종류인 GHA(Generalized Hebbian Algorithm)를 사용하여 등록된 사용자의 패턴 DB 에서 Basis 배열을 추출하고, 구축된 Basis 배열과 입력 영상 패턴과의 비교 Matching을 통하여 사용자를 인증하는 시스템을 제안한다.

  • In previous study, the local trends in dustfall chemistry and deposition were determined and the characteristics of chemical compositions among dustfall, TSP and rainwater were also compared. Based on the previous results, in this study, the effects of sea salts and soil and soil on the chemical composition of dustfall were studied and then the sources of dustfall in Cheju area were tentatively identified by principal component analysis(PCA)

  • 컴포넌트 기반 개발 방법론이 확산됨에 따라 성공적인 컴포넌트 기반 프로젝트의 핵심 요소인 효과적인 컴포넌트 식별 방법에 관한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 시스템이 사용자에게 제공하는 기능을 독립적으로 분류한 유즈케이스를 기반으로 하여 인터페이스를 식별하고, 식별된 인터페이스의 상호작용을 분석하여 컴포넌트를 식별하는 방법에 대해 제안한다. 이를 위하여 유즈케이스를 기반으로 외부 인터페이스를 식별하고, 시나리오를 이용하여 식별된 인터페이스 단위로 객체를 추출한다. 추출된 객체에서 공통 객체를 분석하여 내부 인터페이스와 컴포넌트를 식별하고 최종적으로 이러한 인터페이스의 상호작용과 의존성을 분석하여 컴포넌트를 식별 하고자 한다.
