Emergent requests or urgent information among enterprises require their intimate collaboration in B2B EC (electronic commerce). This paper analyzes the needs of intimate cooperation of distributed EC systems in terms of business contracts and presents an active rule-based methodology of close cooperation among EC systems and an active rule component to support it. Since the rule component provides high level rule patterns and event-based immediate processing, system administrators and programmers can easily program and maintain intimate cooperation of distributed EC systems independently to the application logic. The proposed active rule component facilitates HTTP protocol. Its prototype is implemented in B2B EC environment and evaluated using basic trigger facility of a commercial DBMS.

The OPRoS (Open Platform for Robotic Services) framework is proposed as an application runtime environment for service robot systems. For the successful deployment of the OPRoS framework, fault tolerance support is crucial on top of its basic functionalities of lifecycle, thread and connection management. In the previous work [1] on OPRoS fault tolerance supports, we presented a framework-based fault tolerance architecture. In this paper, we extend the architecture with component-based fault tolerance techniques, which can provide more simplicity and efficiency than the pure framework-based approach. This argument is especially true for fault detection, since most faults and failure can be defined when the system cannot meet the requirement of the application functions. Specifically, the paper applies two widely-used fault detection techniques to the OPRoS framework: 'bridge component' and 'process model' component techniques for fault detection. The application details and performance of the proposed techniques are demonstrated by the same application scenario in [1]. The combination of component-based techniques with the framework-based architecture would improve the reliability of robot systems using the OPRoS framework.
In this paper we describe interoperability maturity measurement, due to highlight a momentous issue on interoperability between heterogeneous distributed component based systems. it also suggests one of various ways for supporting interoperability between each other different component based systems, that is, using web services based mechanism and also revises 'LISI (Level of information systems interoperability)' model to measure interoperability maturity. We also develop the interoperability questionnaire based on the interoperability factors considered at each phase of component based development process, which is possible to measure interoperability maturity between heterogeneous distributed component systems. Based on revised interoperability maturity model and questionnaire we measure each interoperability maturity on examples of two different implementations, that is, web services and distributed object based mechanism. As a result, we suggest an enhanced interoperability way based on analysing problems af these measured results.
Model-driven and component-oriented development is increasingly being used in the development of embedded systems. When combined, both paradigms provide several advantages, such as higher reuse rates, and improved system quality. Performing model-driven and component-oriented development should be accompanied by a component model and a method that prescribes how the component model is used. This article provides an overview on the MARMOT method, which consists of an abstract component model and a methodology for the development of embedded systems. The paper describes a feasibility study that demonstrates MARMOT's capability to alleviate system design, verification, implementation, and reuse. Results indicate that model-driven and component-based development following the MARMOT method outperforms Agile development for embedded systems, leads to maintainable systems, and higher than normal reuse rates.
With the spread of electronic commerce, Internet auction systems have become widely used, because they overcome the spatial and the temporal limitations of traditional auction systems. However, most of current Internet auction systems have many shortcomings such as support for limited auction types, difficulty in registering items, maintenance problems, etc. This paper designs and implements a component-based seller-driven Internet auction system, which complements those traditional auction systems as follows: It allows sellers to select one of the auction types they want by answering questions which eventually lead to a specific auction type; Since it implements five basic auction types according to the principles of component-based development, it is easy to implement diverse types of auction systems with a slight modification to existing components. Further, the use of DAO concept makes it easy to use various commercial database systems.

As robotics systems are becoming more complex there is the need to promote component based robot development, where systems can be constructed as the composition and integration of reusable building block. One of the most important challenges facing component based robot development is safeguarding against software component failures and malfunctions. The health monitoring of the robot software is most fundamental factors not only to manage system at runtime but also to analysis information of software component in design phase of the robot application. And also as a lot of monitoring events are occurred during the execution of the robot software components, a simple data treatment and efficient memory management method is required. In this paper, we propose an efficient events monitoring and data management method by modeling robot software component and monitoring factors based on robot software framework. The monitoring factors, such as component execution runtime exception, Input/Output data, execution time, checkpoint-rollback are deduced and the detail monitoring events are defined. Furthermore, we define event record and monitor record pool suitable for robot software components and propose a efficient data management method. To verify the effectiveness and usefulness of the proposed approach, a monitoring module and user interface has been implemented using OPRoS robot software framework. The proposed monitoring module can be used as monitoring tool to analysis the software components in robot design phase and plugged into self-healing system to monitor the system health status at runtime in robot systems.
Component-based development approach is used in modern software system development projects that are very complex and large-scale. Technical components are more effective rather than business components in software development. However, on the Microsoft .net environment, the technical component-based development issues are not adopted. Moreover, software architecture on the .net environment is not studied yet because the development platform is recently used in the development of enterprise-level system. This paper proposes a technical component-based software architecture on .net environment. Seven technical components - configuration, data access, exception, file I/O, log, message, and paging - are contained in the architecture. The proposed architecture enables developers to reduce development time and to concentrate business logic rather than architectural issues. To verify the proposed architecture and the components, a partner management system is developed based on the architecture.
The computing systems of today expanded business trade and distributed business process Internet. More and more systems are developed from components with exactly reusability, independency, and portability. Component based development is focused on advanced concepts rater than passive manipulation or source code in class library. The primary component construction in CBD. However, lead to an additional cost for reconstructing the new component with CBD model. It also difficult to serve component information with rapidly and exactly, which normalization model are not established, frequency user logging in Web caused overload. A lot of difficult issues and aspects of Component Based Development have to be investigated to develop good component-based products. There is no established normalization model which will guarantee a proper treatment of components. This paper elaborates on some of those aspects of web application to adapt user requirement with exactly and rapidly. Distributed components in this paper are used in the most tiny size on network and suggest the network-addressable interface based on business domain. We also discuss the internal and external specifications for grasping component internal and external relations of user requirements to be analyzed. The specifications are stored on Servlets after dividing the information between session and entity as an EJB (Enterprise JavaBeans) that are reusable unit size in business domain. The reusable units are used in business component through query to get business component. As a major contribution, we propose a systems model for registration, auto-arrange, search, test, and download component, which covers component reusability and component customization.

In the testing of a software component-based robot system, generating test cases for the system is a time-consuming and difficult task that requires the combining of test data. This paper proposes an adaptive combinatorial testing method which is based on the input/output relationship among components and which automatically generates the test cases for the system. The proposed algorithm first generates an input/output relationship graph in order to analyze the input/output relationship of the system. It then generates the reduced set of test cases according to the analyzed type of input/output relationship. To validate the proposed algorithm some comparisons are given in terms of the time complexity and the number of test cases.

The purpose of this study is to establish a component reutilization system in Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) by Object-Oriented Systems Engineering Method (OOSEM). Unified Modeling Language (UML) is mainly used for OOSEM. Operational Concept (OpsCon), Use cases, Structure Diagrams, and Behavior Diagrams are developed to analyze stakeholders needs, system requirements, logical architecture, and physical architecture. Based on the current decommissioning and purchasing system of the component, some activities from their systems were excepted and additional new activities were developed for a component reutilization system.
