In a multi-action tooling system, which is usually used for the powder compaction process to fabricate the complex multilevel parts, crack formation is crucially detrimental and should be avoided. Among various process factors, tool shape is an important factor to prevent the crack formation during powder compaction process. In this work, the effects of different tool shapes were investigated through the experimental oberservation of pore distribution in real products and the finite element analysis of residual stresses. The results were interpreted based on non-uniform powder density in the compacted parts.
Permanent Magnet DC Motors are widely used in Automotive parts because they have cheap price, simple structure and high torque-speed ratio. But the motor in automotive parts is required high quality, complex function and lower price than before. This paper deals with design of controller for safety function that body trap on the automotive window. The algorithm of controller can adapt variety conditions with temperature, electrical, driving, etc.
$21^{st}$ century post digital society orients co-existence, fusion, and blurring boundary than conflict, differentiation, and boundary, and makes a try liberal combination of various different objects. Furthermore, radical development of science and digital equipments offer technical possibility that could combine various fields. Hence, many different departments demolish their boundary, and combine for development of multi-functional and complex shape's products. For job-nomads, fashion attempts to combine with architecture, furniture, daily necessities, and digital equipments spontaneously. This paper aims at consideration about the blurring phenomena expressed in complex fashion space of $21^{st}$ century throughout empirical fashion photographs analysis, which show combination among fashion and various different fields. Blurring boundary phenomena of complex fashion space are classified with 4 parts as follows as: 1) furniturizing, 2) wearable dwelling, 3) lumiduct, 4) becoming fashion. Each parts are examined 8 aesthetical characteristics such as movement and lightness, hyper-link and openness, immateriality and inter-activeness, and diversity and ambiguity. $21^{st}$ century fashion has changed more simple and light, and creates new form throughout combination with many other fields, and enlarges its function and sphere. I think this paper would help certificating practical use of fashion space as multiple and complex space, and makes contribution to forecast about fashion development of the future and offer inspiration about creative and innovative fashion design.

In the development of large complex assembly, most design changes are from the following reasons.: 1) insufficient consideration of assembling sequence of downstream process. 2) interference and fit-up of related parts. 3) initial design changes which are not completely resolved. In order to reduce the first reason of above, the assembly-centric modeling methodology was proposed in the part (1) of the thesis. In this part (2), a Digital Mock-Up system, which is a tool to build a virtual mock-up in design stage, has been developed in order to prevent the other two reasons. The system can build a virtual assembly in various ways as followings.: 1) assembling parts which are located in user defined envelope. 2) assembling parts with the specified disciplines. 3) assembling parts that are selected in the part list. It can also make an assembly by the combination of above methods. In addition to that, it has the functions to read/write the virtual assembly and to explode parts of the assembly in desired direction. With the virtual assembly, engineers can design interference free parts without making physical mock-up. The system has been implemented with Oracle database management system in CATIA environment.
Currently, it is possible to buy almost anything from books(Amazon.com) to airplane tickets(Travelocity.com) using the world wide web. The purpose of this research is to develop a "clean interface" between design and fabrication facilities for the production of custom machined parts through Internet. The current mechanism for production of prototype parts that can be fabricated using standard machine tools like milling machines, requires a process of part description preparation, bidding, contract award, and finally fabrication and delivery of the part. This is a substantially more complex process than buying a book or airplane ticket. In this paper, we try to define the ambiguous part description using XML based data exchange format and to enable e-commerce in this field. The research accomplishments are summarized: 1. Creation of a new format for data exchange of machined prototype parts, 2. Development of a prototype system to illustrate how the XML data can be effectively used to conduct e-Commerce for custom machined parts, 3. Testing of the methodology with a number of parts.
This paper addresses the free and transient responses of a SDOF linear complex stiffness system by making use of the Hilbert transform and the convolution integral. Because the second-order differential equation of motion having the complex stiffness give rise to the conjugate complex eigen values, its time-domain analysis using the standard time integration scheme suffers from the numerical instability and divergence. In order to overcome this problem, the transient response of the linear complex stiffness system is obtained by the convolution integral of a green function which corresponds to the unit-impulse free vibration response of the complex system. The damped free vibration of the complex system is theoretically derived by making use of the state-space formulation and the Hilbert transform. The convolution integral is implemented by piecewise-linearly interpolating the external force and by superimposing the transient responses of discretized piecewise impulse forces. The numerical experiments are carried out to verify the proposed time-domain analysis method, and the correlation between the real and imaginary parts in the free and transient responses is also investigated.

This paper presents a new method for generating assembly sequences. The method acquires constraints on sequencing the assembly tasks without redundancy. Then it generates the assembly sequences without seatching undesirable tasks by recursively searching all assembly tasks which do not violate the assembly constraints. Since the method does not search undesirable tasks, it can generate assembly sequences for complex products. Current available methods may not generate assembly sequences for the complex product since their search-space increases explosively as the number of parts rises.

This article portrays the authors' experience with a complex lower limb bone and soft tissue defect, following chronic osteomyelitis and pathological fracture, which was managed by the multidisciplinary orthoplastic team. The decision for functional amputation versus limb salvage was deemed necessary, enhanced by the principles of "spare parts" in reconstructive microsurgery. This case describes the successful use of the osteocutaneous distal tibia turn-up fillet flap that allowed "lowering the level of the amputation" from a through knee to a below-knee amputation (BKA) to preserve the knee joint function. We comprehensibly review reports of turn-up flaps which effectively lower the level of amputation, also applying "spare-parts" surgery principles and explore how these concepts refine complex orthoplastic approaches when limb salvage is not possible to enhance function. The osteocutaneous distal tibia turn-up fillet flap is a robust technique for modified BKA reconstructions that provides sufficient bone length to achieve a tough, sensate stump and functional knee joint.
In this paper, we would like to discuss the signal processing and the algorithm for ECG analysis. The ECG gives us information about the condition of the heart muscle, because myocardial abnormality or infarction is inscribed on the ECG during myocardial depolarization and repolarization. Analyzing the ECG signal, we can find heart disease, for example, arrhythmia and myocardial infarction, etc. Particularly, detecting arrhythmia is more important, because serious arrhythmia can take away the life from patients within ten minutes. The wavelet transform decomposes the ECG signal into high and low frequency component using wavelet function. Recomposing high frequency bands including QRS complex, we can detect QRS complex and eliminate the noise from the original ECG signal. To recognize the ECG signal pattern, we adopted the curve-fitting partially and statistical method. The ECG signal is divided into small parts based on QRS complex, and then, each part is approximated to the polynomials. Comparing the approximated ECG pattern with some kinds of heart disease ECG pattern, we can detect and classify the kind of heart disease.

This study proposes a temperature compensation method of the complex permittivities of biological tissues and organs. The method is based on the temperature dependence of the Debye model of water, which has been thoroughly investigated. This method was applied to measured data at room temperature for whole blood, kidney cortex, bile, liver, and heart muscle. It is shown that our method can compensate for the Cole-Cole model using measured data at 20 $^{\circ}C$, given the Cole-Cole model based on measured data at 35 $^{\circ}C$, with a root-mean-squared deviation of 3~11 % and 2~6 % for the real and imaginary parts of the complex permittivities, respectively, among the measured tissues.
