A series of vitamin-containing Pt(II) complexes of the type [Pt (FMN) (L)] (FMN=flavin mononucleotide, L=ethylenediamine, 1,3-propanediamine, 1,4-bu-tanediamine) was synthesizd and characterized by IR, electronic absorption, elemental analysis and FAB=Mass. The coordination sites of FMN to Pt(II) ions were determined to be N(5) and O(6) with resultant chelate ring formation. Theses compounds have much better water solubility (30-35 mg/ml) than cisplatin (1 mg/ml). The anticancer activity of this vitamin-containing Pt(II) series was investigated by MTT assay against mouse and human leukemia cell lines in vitro. Among these compounds, FMN (1,4-butanediamine) Pt(II) having seven-membered ring structure as amine ligand showed moderate anticancer activity.
The microcapsule for thermochromism is based on the polymerization reaction between epoxy resin and amine curing agent. The preparation process of microcapsule is based on dissolving or dispersing a hydrophobic core materials[one-dye-black(OBD), bis-phenol A(BPA), cetyl alcohol] in an aqueous solution of gelatin, epoxy resin and isophorondiamine(IPDA) ; the gelatin and IPDA used as a dispersion stabilizer and an hardening agent, respectively. The structures of epoxy resin and microcapsule materials have been analyzed by FT-IR and UV/Vis spectra. The mean diameter and size distribution of microcapsule are 1.46~1.75${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and 1.42, respectively. The DSC thermograms of microcapsules indicated 2 kinds of endothermic peaks at 47 and 322$^{\circ}C$. This is possibly corresponding to the melting peak of core material and wall meterial. These microcapsules are applied to the fabric by printing. Complex finished fabric showed a good wear resistance on rubbing test and the print pattern to the cotton fabric showed a reversible thermochromism ; ${\mu}_{max}$ are 580 nm below 4$0^{\circ}C$ and 276.5nm above 4$0^{\circ}C$ in ethanol/water(2/8), respectively.
Cobalt(Ⅲ) complexes of trifunctional amino acid and N,N'-diethylethylenediamine-N,N'-di-α-butyrate(deedba), s-cis-[Co(deedba)(L-aa)] (L-aa=S-methyl-L-cysteine, L-aspartic acid, L-glutamic acid) have been prepared from the reaction between the s-cis-[Co(deedba)(Cl2)]- complex and the corresponding amino acid. The amino acids have been found to coordinate through the amine and carboxylate groups. The S-methyl-L-cystene is coordinated not by the sulfur donor atom, but by the nitrogen and oxgen donor atoms, and the L-aspartic and L-glutamic acids are coordinated to the cobalt(Ⅲ) ion via formation of the five-membered glycinate chelate ring. Relatively small optical activity shown by the complexes is due to the chiral center present in the amino acids.

The greenhouse is a complex system. It is subject to multiple input disturbances that are highly dependent on meteorological conditions, which are generally nonlinear and have a great influence on the agricultural production. The objective of this paper is to study the fuzzy logic technique as one of the most efficient technologies to control the greenhouse. The fuzzy logic controller (FLC) was developed to activate the actuator based on a ventilator was installed in an experimental greenhouse to obtain a desired temperature of the microclimate despite the externals disturbances.
In this study CALPUFF modeling was performed to predict a contribution of a separate single point pollutant source as well as of total point pollutant sources of major synthetic fiber manufacturers in Gumi national industrial complex to atmospheric trimethylamine concentration of the same area. In addition, a contribution of the separate single point pollution source to the atmospheric trimethylamine concentration of the same area was estimated relatively to the total point pollutant sources. As a result of the CALPUFF modeling, the maximum atmospheric concentration of trimethylamine in Gumi national industrial complex was appeared upon improving T company emission facility frequently in complex 3 in winter (January) and spring (April) while frequently in complex 1 in summer (July) and autumn (October). Besides, the predicted range of the maximum atmospheric concentration of trimethylamine in complex 1 was improved upon improving its emission facility. However, even though in complex 3 the upper bound of the predicted maximum atmospheric concentrations of trimethylamine was increased upon improving T company emission facility, the predicted value of their second upper bound below the upper bound was very similar to the upper bound of measured atmospheric trimethylamine concentrations in Gumi prior to improving its emission facility. Thus, the effect of improving T company emission facility was estimated huge in complex 1 while it was trivial in complex 3. These maximum concentrations of trimethylamine predicted to estimate the expected contribution of total point pollutant sources by CALPUFF modeling showed the similar values to those measured in the region of Gumi. Therefore, the expected contribution of total point pollutant sources to atmospheric trimethylamine concentration in the area of Gumi was validated.
The L-Valinate anion coordinating zinc complex, [$Zn(val)_2(H-2O)$], was isolated and structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray crystallography. The crystal possess orthorhombic symmetry with a space group $P2_12_12_1$, Z = 4, and a = 7.4279(2)$\AA$, b = 9.4342(2)$\AA$, c =20.5862(7)$\AA$ respectively. The compound features a penta-coordinate zinc ion in which the two valine anion molecules are directly coordinating the central zinc metal ion via their N (amine) and O (carboxylate) atoms, and an additional coordination to zinc is made by water molecule (solvent) to form a distorted square pyramidal structure. In addition, further synthesis of the valine capped ZnS:Mn nanocrystal from the reaction of [$Zn(val)_2(H-2O)$] precursor with $Na_2S$ and 1.95 weight % of $Mn^{2+}$ dopant is described. Obtained valine capped nanocrystal was water dispersible and was optically characterized by UV-vis and solution PL spectroscopy. The solution PL spectrum for the valine capped ZnS:Mn nanocrystal showed an excitation peak at 280 nm and a very narrow emission peak at 558 nm respectively. The measured and calculated PL efficiency of the nanocrystal in water was 15.8%. The obtained powders were characterized by XRD, HR-TEM, and EDXS analyses. The particle size of the nanocrystal was also measured via a TEM image. The measured average particle size was 3.3 nm.
To stabilize omeprazole(OMP), ethylenediamine(ED) complex of omeprazole(OMPED) was prepared by reaction between OMP and ED in methanol, and the complex formation was confirmed by the instrumental analysis, i.e., IR, DSC, EA, NMR, MS and XRD. The rates of decomposition of OMP and OMPED in aqueous solution and the shelf lives at standard temperature were measured by accelerated stability analysis. The results are summarized as follows; The mole ratio of OMP and ED in OMPED complex is 1:1, the energy of formation within OMPED might be combined between polar imidazole group of OMP with induced a dipole amine group in the readily polarizable ED molecule. At standard temperature the degradation rate constant of OMP in aqueous solution is $2.540{\times}10^{-2}\;hr^{-1}$ and the shelf life is 4.15 hrs, and in the case of OMPED the degradation rate constant is $7.986{\times}10^{-4}\;hr^{-1}$ and the shelf life is 131.96 hrs. So, the OMPED has about 31 times longer shelf life than OMP. The activation energy of OMP and OMPED are 5.23 and 18.55 kcal $mole^{-1}$ respectively. The stability of OMP is dependent chiefly on pH in the solutions and it decomposes readily in acidic medium by hydrogen ion catalized reaction but becomes stable beyond pH 9.0. In case of the ED-complex, OMPED is stable in neutral as well as in dilute acidic solutions even in pH 6, OMPED is very stable to light(UV), that is, the rate constant and shelf life of OMP are $k=1.0188{\times}10^{-2}\;day^{-1}$, $T_{90%}=4.5 \;days$, on the other hand, the those of OMPED are $k=7.138{\times}10^{-4}\;day^{-1}$, $T_{90%}=64.1\;days$, respectively. From the above results, it is thought that new dosage forms could be developed by using the OMPED as a potential OMP complex.

The new complex catalysts were synthesized by the reaction of titanium compounds (titanium chloride or titanium butoxide) and diamines in this work, and they showed very high catalytic activities for the cyclododecatriene (CDT) synthesis from 1,3-butadiene through trimerization. CDT synthetic reaction was performed in an autoclave reactor, and the effects of reaction temperature, type of catalyst, catalyst amount added into the system, the mole ratio of Al/Ti and immobilization method were investigated on the yield of product CDT. The titanium complex catalyst combined to diamine with 1:1 ratio showed high selectivity to CDT more than 90%. The ratio of TTT-CDT/TTC-CDT isomers in the product revealed as different values, depending on the type of diamine combined to titanium and Ti/diamine ratios. Those homogeneous complexes could be used as a heterogenized catalyst after anchoring on the supports, and the immobilized titanium catalyst retained the catalytic activities for several times in the recycled reactions without leaching. The carbon support containing titanium has exhibited superior activity to the silica support. Especially, when the titanium complex was anchored on the support which was fabricated by the hydrolysis of tripropylaminosilane itself, the resulting titanium catalyst showed the highest BD conversion and CDT selectivity.

In this study, we investigated the emission concentrations of 31 odorous compounds from various emission sources of 37 individual companies located within the Ban Wal industrial complex of Ansan city, Korea. In the course of our study, we attempted to evaluate emission characteristics of different industrial activities and relative significance of different odorous components . Based on our measurements of odorous compounds, we were able to find a line of evidence to draw a conclusion that a number of odorous compounds can be used as indices to specifically point out the influence of certain industrial activities. It was found that hydrogen sulfide and trimethyl amine record the highest contribution from leather industry. Likewise, acetaldehyde showed its maximum contribution from food-beverage sector, while ammonia for paper-mill, pulp production sector. On the other hand, the results of styrene and most YOC including BTEX were not useful, as their concentrations were not significantly high enough to judge from such respect.

As part of a research program to develope 3rd generation anti tumor platinum complexes, a series of platinum complexes which have 4, 5-bis-(aminomethyl)- 1, 3-dioxolane derivatives as bidenate amine ligands, represented by the general structual formula was prepared. The R$_1$ and/or R$_2$ substituents in this series of platinum complexes can be hydrogen. alkyl, of jointly formed cyclohexane. Two Xs can be a bidenate leaving ligand such as 1, 1-cyclobutanedicarboxylate, malonate, dimethylmalonate, ethylmalonate, glycolate, L-lactate, or N-methyliminodiacetate. From based on the pharmacological and toxicological studies, we have chosen SKI 2053R, cis-malonato[(4R, 5R)-4, 5-bis(aminomethyl)-2-isopropyl-1, 3-dioxolane] platinum(II) complex (NSC D644591) as a candidate for clinical evaluation. The antitumor activity of a new anti tumor platinum complex, cis-malonato [(4R, 5R)-4, 5-bis(aminomethyl)-2-isopropyl-1, 3-dioxolane] platinum(II) (SKI 2053R, NSC D644591), was compared with those of cisplatin and carboplatin using murine tumors. We evaluated three platinum complexes against L1210/CPR, a subline of L1210 leukemia resistant to cisplatin for their abilities to overcome tumor resistance to cisplatin. The in vitro cytotoxicity of SKI 2053R to L1210 cell line was 2.5-fold less potent thann that of cisplatin, and was 10-fold more cytotoxic than that of carboplatin. SKI 2053R retained similar cytotoxic effect and anti tumor activity to L1210/CPR cell line, like the cytotoxicity of SKI 2053R to L1210 cell line, while either cisplatin or carboplatin had not property to overcome the acquired cisplatin-resistance. SKI 2053R exhibited greater or comparable antitumor activity than cisplatin or carboplatin in murine tumor models.
