Monodisperse polystyrene and its copolymer beads containing amine function were prepared for the electroless silver plating using reduction of silver alkylcarbamate complex in organic solvent. Soap-free emulsion polymerization was adopted for the polymerization of styrene, divinylbenzene (DVB), and 2-(N,N-dimethylamino) ethyl methacrylate (DAEMA) in the presence of poly (vinyl alcohol) in a water/methanol solvent. The resulting poly (styrene/DVB/DAEMA), containing 30/0$\sim$1.5/0$\sim$3 wt% in monomer composition, were found to be a sphere-type particle with diameter of 1 ${\mu}m$. Silver Ag-coated polystyrene beads were prepared by in sito reduction of a silver 2-ethylhexylcarbamate (Ag-EHCB) complex solution with hydrazine without pretreatment of polystyrene beads. Robust Ag/polystyrene beads were analyzed by SEM, UV -visible spectrometer and XRD.
The aerobic oxidation of the Fe(II) complex of 1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane, [Fe(cyclam)$(CH_3CN)_2](ClO_4)_2$, in MeCN in the presence of a few drops of $HClO_4$ leads to low spin Fe(III) species [Fe(cyclam)$(CH_3CN)_2](ClO_4)_3$. The Fe(III) cyclam complex is further oxidized in the air in the presence of a trace of water to produce the deep green binuclear bismacrocyclic Fe(II) complex $[Fe_2(C_{20}H_{36}N_8)(CH_3CN)_4](ClO_4)_4{\cdot}2CH_3CN$. The Fe(II) ions of the complex are six-coordinated and the bismacrocyclic ligand is extensively unsaturated. $[Fe_2(C_{20}H_{36}N_8)(CH_3CN)_4](ClO_4)_4{\cdot}2CH_3CN$ crystallizes in the monoclinic space group $P2_1/n$ with a= 13.099 (1) ${\AA}$, b= 10.930 (1) ${\AA}$, c= 17.859 (1) ${\AA}$, ${\beta}$= 95.315 $(7)^{\circ}$, and Z= 2. The structure was solved by heavy atom methods and refined anisotropically to R values of R= 0.0633 and $R_w$= 0.0702 for 1819 observed reflections with F > $4{\sigma}$ (F) measured with Mo K${\alpha}$ radiation on a CAD-4 diffractometer. The two macrocyclic units are coupled through the bridgehead carbons of ${\beta}$-diimitie moieties by a double bond. The double bonds in each macrocycle unit are localized. The average bond distances of $Fe(II)-N_{imine}$, $Fe(II)-N_{amine}$, and $Fe(II)-N_{MeCN}$ are 1.890 (5), 2.001 (5), and 1.925 (6) ${\AA}$, respectively. The complex is diamagnetic, containing two low spin Fe(II) ions in the molecule. The complex shows extremely intense charge transfer band in the near infrared at 868 nm with ${\varepsilon}$= 25,000 $M^{-1}cm^{-1}$. The complex shows a one-electron oxidation wave at +0.83 volts and two one-electron reduction waves at -0.43 and-0.72 volts vs. Ag/AgCl reference electrode. The complex reacts with carbon monoxide in $MeNO_2$ to form carbonyl adducts, whose $v_{CO}$ value (2010 $cm^{-1}$) indicates the ${\pi}$-accepting property of the present bismacrocyclic ligand.
Alginate derivatives possessing various lengths of alkyl amine (C8, C12, C16) chain were prepared by oxidation followed by reductive amination of alginate and the products were characterized by spectral analysis. The surface tension critical micelle concentration (c. m. c) and solubility of a hydrophobic compound azobenzene were examined. Series of synthesized alginate-derived polymeric surfactants(APSs) reduced the surface tension. The dissolving capacity of APSs toward azobenzene was about half that of SDS. In order to investigate the capacity of metal adsorption Co and Pb were selected as a representative metal. The overall removal efficiency of APSs were high compared with that of alginate at pH 3.5 and 7 respectively. Major mechanism of the heavy metal removal is the complex of metal with carboxyl group.
The purpose of this study is to produce high putity composite powder composed of Fe-oxide, Mn-oxide and Mn-ferrite having superior homogencity in composition and particle size distribution by co-roasting process. Binary component metal (Fe, Mn) chloride solutions were produced by dissolving mill scale and ferro-mangancse alloy in hydrochloric acid. These chloride solutions contained the impurities such as SiO$_{2}$, P, Al, Ca and Na, which were originated from the Fe/Mn source materials. The neutralization and polymeric coagulant method were adoped to refine the hydrochloric liquor. When pH is far below the isoelectric point (pH 2-3), the SiO$_{2}$ was the most effectively reduced element, while other impurities remained unchanged. By increasing pH above 3, most of the impurities could be reduced effectively due to the coprecipitation reaction. The polymeric coagulants such as poly vinyl alcohol, resin amine and ammonium molybdate were found to have no effect on the spray roaster designed by the authors. The produced oxide powders were confirmed to be mixtures of Fe-oxide, Mn-oxide and mn-ferrite. the powders were homogeneously mixed and the particle size increased sleeply with increasing co-roasting temperature.
This study is related to the reactivity of dioxygen bridged palladium complexes having amine ligands. New dloxygen bridged palladium complexes were prepared using superoxide ion(${O_2}^-$) as an oxygen source. The reactions of dioxygen palladium complexes prepared in the study were examined in order to clarify the nature of the coordinated dioxygen. Treatments of a solution of the dioxygen bridged palladium complexes in benzene by water, methanol, acetic acid gave hydrogen peroxide($H_2O_2$) and hydroxy, methoxy, acetoxy-bridged palladium complexes, respectively. The dioxygen bridged palladium complexes reacted with substitution phenols of salicylaldehyde, 8-hydroxyquinoline and active mothylenes of acetylacetone, dimethyl malonate to afford mononuclear complexes of palladium and hydrogen peroxide. Furthermore, she dioxygen bridged palladium complexes changed to acetonyl bridged palladium complex and hydrogen peroxide reacting with acetone. The results suggest that dioxygen is coordinated as peroxo (${O_2}^{2-}$) in the complexes and behaves as a strong base.
In this study, an aniline modified Bakelite-A resine was synthesized by polymerizing phenol, formaldehyde and aniline. Structural properties of the polymer were examined by IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis and vapour pressure osmometry. By visible spectroscopy, it was found that nitrogens of amine groups in the polymer are strongly coordinated to Ni(Ⅱ). Also a nitrate ion-selective PVC membrane electrode based on the polymer-Ni(Ⅱ) complex as ion carrier was preparaed. The electrode gave a linear response with a Nernstian slope within the concentration range $10^{-1}$ M∼$10^{-4}$M $KNO_3$.
This research deals with the study of vibrational behavior of armchair and zigzag single-walled carbon nanotubes invoking extended Love shell theory. The effects of different physical and material parameters on the fundamental frequencies are investigated. By using volume fraction for power law index, the fundamental natural frequency spectra for two forms of single-walled carbon nanotubes are calculated. The influence of frequencies against length-to-diameter ratios with varying power law index are investigated in detail for these tubes. To discretize the governing equation in eigen-value form, wave propagation approach is developed. Complex exponential functions have been used and the axial model depends on boundary condition that has been described at the edges of carbon nanotubes to calculate the axial modal dependence. Computer software MATLAB is utilized for the frequencies of single-walled carbon nanotubes and current results shows a good stability with comparison of other studies.
Since the 1930's, a rapid development of resin processing has contributed to making our clothing life convenient and rich. Wrinkle considered as the largest defect of cellulose fiber is generated from fixation of molecules which are divided by compression or crookedness. It can be protected by building a bridge between the molecules the joint combination of the inside of the fiber. The formaldehyde reactive resin which is used in processing resin is a chemical compound with more than 2 N-methylol or N-alkoxymethylol group and a chemical compound with N-methylol shows the property of W.W and D.P through the very complex bridge-bonding reaction under the OH group of cellulose and acid catalyst. However, if the processing is excessively carried out, resin-processed textile emits the formaldehyde when the bridge bonding agent reacts to amine type under the acid condition or the formaldehyde remains in the condition of non-reaction or the resin combinates by itself, or the methylol group of non-reactive resin is hydrolyzed due to the insufficient themomagnetic treatment.
A mucoadhesive microsphere was prepared by an interpolymer complexation and solvent evaporation method, using chitosan and poly(acrylic acid) (PAA), to prolong the gastric resid ence time of the delivery system. The Fourier transform infrared results showed that microspheres were formed by an electrostatic interaction between the carboxyl groups of the PAA and the amine groups of the chitosan. X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry analysis showed that the enrofloxacin in the chitosan-PAA microsphere was molecularly dispersed in an amorphous state. Scanning electron microscopy of the surface and the quantity of mucin attached to the microspheres indicated that chitosan-PAA microspheres had a higher affinity for mucin than those of chitosan alone. The swelling and dissolution of the chitosan-PAA microspheres were found to be dependent on the pH of the medium. The rate of enrofloxacin released from the chitosan-PAA microspheres was slower at higher pH; therefore, based on their mucoadhesive properties and morphology, the chitosan-PAA microspheres can be used as a mucoadhesive oral drug delivery system.
A simple, rapid and sensitive spectrophotometric method is herewith proposed for the determination of copper(II) by using diamine-dioxime ligand, meso-3,6,6,9-tetramethyl-4,8-diazaundecane-2,10-dione dioxime or meso-HexaMethyl Propylene Amine Oxime (meso-HMPAO). This method is based on the formation of a stable 1 : 1 red-pink complex between copper(II) and meso-HMPAO in aqueous solution. Absorption measurements were carried at 497 nm, with a molar absorptivity value of 338 L $mol^{-1}\;cm^{-1}$. Beer's law was obeyed over the concentration range of 0.5-370 ${\mu}$g $mL^{-1}$ with a Sandell's sensitivity value of 0.18 ${\mu}$g $cm^{-2}$. The proposed method has been successfully applied for determination of copper(II) in foodstuffs and pharmaceutical samples. The results obtained from this method are comparable with those obtained AAS.
