자원봉사 연계 유무에 따른 방문보건 노인대상자의 건강상태, 삶의 질 및 맞춤형 방문건강관리서비스 만족도 (Elders' Health Status, Quality of Life, and Satisfaction with Customized Home Visiting Health Service Depending on Connection to Volunteerism)

  • Purpose: This study attempted to identify differences in elders' health status, quality of life, and satisfaction with customized home visiting health service depending on connection to volunteerism. Methods: A total of 400 subjects participated in this research. Data were collected from May to August of 2009 and the measurement tool used for this study was the house visiting health service recording sheet recommended by the Ministry of Health. Results: According to the results of this research on elders' health status in customized home visiting health service depending on connection to volunteerism, elders' connected to volunteerism positively showed a high level in functional health status areas such as daily life performance ability, instrumental daily life performance ability and Joint exercise capacity, and in the quality of life area. Conclusion: The results of this study can be utilized as complementary information when resources and networks are used for the effective management of house visiting health service subjects.

NOAA/AVHRR NDVI를 이용한 북한지역 봄 가뭄 분석 (Analysis of Spring Drought Using NOAA/AVHRR NDVI for North Korea)

  • Different vegetation indices from satellite images have been used for monitoring drought damages, and this study aimed to develop a drought index using NOAA/AVHRR NDVI(Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) and to analyze the temporal and spatial distribution of spring drought severity in North Korea from 1998 to 2001. A new drought index, DevNDVI(Deviation of NDVI), was defined as the difference between a monthly NDVI and average monthly NDVI at the same cover area, and the DevNDVI images at all years except for 2001 demonstrated the drought-damaged areas referred from various domestic and foreign publications. The vegetation of 2001 showed high vitality despite the least amount of rainfall among the target years, and the reason was investigated that higher temperature above normal average would shift the growing stages of plants ahead. Therefore, complementary methods like plant growth models or ground survey data should be adopted in order to evaluate drought-induced plant stress using satellite-based NDVI and to make up far the distortion induced by other environments than lack of precipitation.

GIS 폴리곤 데이터의 위치정확도 측정 방법 (Measuring the Positional Accuracy of GIS Polygon Data)

  • 본 연구에서는 구축된 GIS 폴리곤 데이터의 위치정확도를 측정할 수 있는 방법을 제시하고자 하였다. 그리고 기존까지 개별 방법에 의한 위치정확도 측정 방법을 개선하여 개별 방법들을 연계 이용함으로써 위치오차의 발생 유형까지 분석할 수 있는 가능성을 제시하고자 하였다. 방법론을 실제 실험지역에 적용하여본 결과, 실험대상지역에 대하여 위치정확도의 측정이 가능하였고, 또한 각각의 지수 연결(방법론 연결)을 통하여 위치오차의 발생원인(유형)을 분석할 수 있었다. 궁극적으로 방법론의 적용가능성을 확인할 수 있었다. 그러나 방법론의 타당성을 확보하기 위해서는 각각의 기준 수치에 대한 보완 연구가 있어야 할 것으로 판단된다.

초음파상 비전형적 소견을 보이는 간혈관종의 적혈구 표지 스캔소견 ($^{99m}Tc-Red$ Blood Cell Scintigraphy of Sonographically Atypical Hemangioma)

  • We evaluated the scintigraphic findings of sonographically atypical hemangioma, that is, a hypoechoic or heterogeneously hypoechoic nodule which contains hypoechoic areas more than 40% of the volume, and compared it with those of sonographically typical hemangioma in 26 patients with 31 nodules. Sonographically atypical hemangioma were 13 in 11 patients and sonographically typical hemangioma were 18 the 15 patients. Dynamic blood flow, planar and SPECT blood pool imaging was performed. In atypical hemangioma, increased blood pool activity was seen in 11 of 13 nodules on SPECT and in 10 of 13 nodules on planar image and increased blood flow was seen in 4 of 13 nodules on dynamic blood flow study. No significant difference in detecting increased blood pool activity between sonographically atypical and typical hemangioma. In conclusion, $^{99m}Tc-red$ blood cell SPECT is as useful in diagnosis of sonographically atypical hemangioma as in typical hemangioma and can be used as a confirmatory or complementary study.

In situ hybridization법에 의한 북방산개구리 뇌에서 GnRH mRNA를 함유한 세포의 분포 연구 (Neuroanatomical Localization of Cells Containing Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone mRNA in the Brain of Frog, Rana dvbowskii, by in situ Hybridization)

  • Using in situ hybridization, we have mapped the anatomical localization of perikarya containing myNA that codes for sonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) in the brains of female frogs, R. dybowskii. DNA olisomers, with sequences complementary to the GnRH portion of pro-GnRH myNA sequence, were synthesized and hybridized to paraformaldehvde-fixed, sagittal sections of the whole brain stem. The distribution of the GnRH mRNA containing cell bodies was similar to that described for GnRH peptide by immunohistochemistrv. That is, cells containing GnRH mRNA were observed in the medial septal area, anterior preoptic area, ventromedial hvpothalamus and infundibular regions. However, another cell groups which contains GnRH mRNAs were also detected by in situ hybridization in the bed nucleus of hippocampal commissure, preoptic area, nucleus infundibularis dorsalis, mesencephalic nuclei and intermediolateral cell column of spinal cord areas. These results demonstrate the feasibility of using in situ hybridization as a strategy to study the distribution of GnRH neurons and the detection of GnRH gene expression in the vertebrates.

Performance of Zoysia spp. and Axonopus compressus Turf on Turf-Paver Complex under Simulated Traffic

  • Vehicular traffic on turf results in loss of green cover due to direct tearing of shoots and indirect long-term soil compaction. Protection of turfgrass crowns from wear could increase the ability of turf to recover from heavy traffic. Plastic turfpavers have been installed in trafficked areas to reduce soil compaction and to protect turfgrass crowns from wear. The objectives of this study were to evaluate traffic performance of turfgrasses (Zoysia matrella and Axonopus compressus) and soil mixture (high, medium and low sand mix) combinations on turf-paver complex. The traffic performance of turf and recovery was evaluated based on percent green cover determined by digital image analysis and spectral reflectance responses by NDVI-meter. Bulk density cores indicated significant increase in soil compaction from medium and low sand mixtures compared to high sand mixture. Higher reduction of percent green cover was observed from A. compressus (30-40%) than Z. matrella (10-20%) across soil mixtures. Both turf species displayed higher wear tolerance when established on higher sand (>50% sand) than low sand mixture. Positive turf recovery was also supported by complementary spectral responses. Establishment of Zoysia matrella turf on turfpaver complex using high sand mixture will result in improved wear tolerance.

우리나라 도서관의 장애인서비스에 관한 분석 연구 (The Analysis Research about Library Service for the Disabled in Korea)

  • 이 연구는 우리나라 도서관 장애인서비스의 현재 수준을 알아보기 위하여 전국 공공도서관, 장애인도서관(점자 도서관)을 대상으로 현황을 조사 분석하였다. 설문조사는 공공도서관 768개관, 장애인도서관 36개관이며, 일반현황, 편의시설, 대체자료, 보조공학기기, 자료 및 정보서비스, 문화프로그램 6개 영역으로 구분하여 다양한 측면들을 조사 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 장애인서비스의 수준과 내용에서 도서관 운영주체, 내용적 측면, 지역에 따라 다양한 편차가 나타났다. 이 가운데 공공도서관 장애인자료실과 장애인코너에 전담직원이 있는 경우, 장애인 서비스의 질적 수준이 상대적으로 높은 것으로 나타났다.

의료관광산업의 구조에 대한 시스템 접근법 (A System Approach to the Framework of Medical Tourism Industry)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this research is to develop two medical tourism system models which explain medical tourism phenomenon with a systemic approach. Methodology/Approach: This research was conducted using a qualitative data analysis which mainly refer previous references in relation to medical tourism in the areas of tourism and medicine. Leiper's tourism system model was utilized as a conceptual framework. In-depth interviews with experts in the area were attempted in order to pretest the models. Findings: This research suggests a medical tourism system framework and a medical service provision framework. The first model presents medical tourism components and their relationships within a framework presented in a diagram. The second model shows the relationships among medical services required by medical tourists, the service providers, and service human resources along with movements of medical tourists. Practical Implications: The first model presents a spatial composition of medical tourism components and their relationships, whereas the second model shows the linkage among medical services, the service providers, and relevant service human resources along with time sequential steps of medical tourists. These two models are complementary and may be used as useful tools to observe medical tourism phenomenon with a systemic and holistic approach. These two models may enable stake holders avoid unnecessary confusions and conflicts that result in duplication of government policies and a waste of budget and human resources.

윤곽선 방향의 히스토그램과 Sampled Spot Matching을 이용한 이치 형상의 인식 알고리즘 (A Study on the Recognition of Bilevel Shapes Using the Contour Direction Histogram & Spot Matching Method)

  • Pattern Recognition is one of the fundamental areas of computer vision. The recognition of patterns with varying size and severe defects is especially important. However, it is known that the conventional algorithms such as GHT or structural approaches have limitations in speed and accuracy. In this paper, in order to avoid above-mentioned problems, we propose a new recognition algorithm which exploits the histogram of contour directions and the sampled spot matching method. While the former provides little influence against size variation, the latter has strong immunity to noise and defects. We applied those proposed algorithms for the recognition of numbers extracted from the car number plates and shapes of aircraft. Experimental result shows that it is possible to solve above-mentioned problems by complementary uses of those two suggested algorithms. The contour directional histogram method resulted in high-speed of average 0.013 sec/char and 0.1 sec/aircraft-image on IBM-386. The accuracy of recognition is as high as 99%. Sampled spot matching method has less speed than the former one, however, it showed fairly strong immunity to noise and defects.

경도인지장애 노인의 인지능력 향상을 위한 로봇 콘텐츠 개발 (Development of Robot Contents to Enhance Cognitive Ability for the Elderly with Mild Cognitive Impairment)

  • This paper describes the effect of a robot cognitive rehabilitation program on cognitive functions for the elderly with mild cognitive impairment, and compares it with traditional cognitive therapy programs. Three experiment groups including cognition therapy group, robot cognitive rehabilitation group, and hybrid group have been sampled and one comparative group has been organized for this research. 32 old people whose ages are between 61 and 88 with mild cognitive impairment participated in the programs with an admission of W care hospital. According to the program results, the cognitive therapy program alone had shown a positive effect on the attention function, and the robot cognitive rehabilitation program alone had a positive effect on the total intelligence and memory function. However, a simultaneous operation with both programs had shown a positive effect on the three intelligence areas such as total, basic, and management quotients as well as attention and memory functions as subsidiary factors. This paper has verified that the proposed robot cognitive rehabilitation program makes a positive effect on a cognitive function and plays a complementary role with traditional cognitive therapy programs.
