  • In this paper, we analyze the problem with existing telematics contents service systems that have been provided telematics information on a special contents provider. Then, we suggest methods to solve the problems and propose the architecture of TELIC(Telematics Information Center) to implement our methods. We also verify the stability and the accuracy of the suggested architecture through a comparison with an existing service system. With our system, it is possible to develop telematics content application without additional developing the integration method of various contents.

Model and Field Testing of a Heavy-Duty Gas Turbine Combustor

  • The results of stand and field testing of a combustion chamber for a heavy-duty 150 MW gas turbine are discussed. The model represented one of 14 identical segments of a tubular multican combustor constructed 1:1 scale. The model experiments were executed at a lower pressure than that in a real gas turbine. Combustion efficiency, pressure loss factor, pattern factor, liner wall temperature, flame radiation, fluctuating pressure and NOx emission were measured at partial and full loads for both model and on-site testing. The comparison of these items in the stand and field test results led to has the development of a method of calculation and the improvement of gas turbine combustors.

Developing Objective Linear Scale Data from Subjective Tests for Consumer Products

  • In the consumer products industry, it has been highly desirable to develop objective test methods to replace subjective evaluation methods. In developing an objective test method, subjective evaluation data should be on a linear scale. According to Thurstone's theory of comparative judgment, a%-preference from a paired-comparison test can be converted to a linear-scale value. The required number (N) of paired-comparison tests increases dramatically as the number of products increases. This problem should be solved by classifying the total products into several subgroups consisting of 3-4 products in each group. By doing so, it can not only significantly reduce the number of required paired-comparison tests, but it can also obtain more reliable, reproducible data.

  • The purpose of this study has been finding where GMDH (Group Method of Data Handling) lies in accordance with comparing other methods and ascertaining the effectiveness of GMDH at the systems of forecasting method. Other methods used for the comparison are: multiple regression model, Brown's third exponential smoothing model. Also the study has reviewed how the expected value and equatior are changed by GMDH. At the same time, the study has also reviewed various characteristics made with comparatively a few data. In conclusion, GMDH is better than the other method in point of view fitness, high effectiveness in self-selection and self-construction of the variables.

Short-term Electric Load Forecasting Based on Wavelet Transform and GMDH

  • The group method of data handling (GMDH) algorithm has proven to be a powerful and effective way to extract rules or polynomials from an electric load pattern. However, because it is nonstationary, the load pattern needs to be decomposed using a discrete wavelet transform. In addition, if a load pattern has a complicated curve pattern, GMDH should use a higher polynomial, which requires complex computing and consumes a lot of time. This paper suggests a method for short-term electric load forecasting that uses a wavelet transform and a GMDH algorithm. Case studies with the proposed algorithm were carried out for one-day-ahead forecasting of hourly electric loads using data during the years 2008-2011. To prove the effectiveness of our proposed approach, the results were evaluated and compared with those obtained by Holt-Winters method and artificial neural network. Our suggested method resulted in better performance than either comparison group.

  • This article has compared the level of activities of occupational safety and health in workplace among sub-sectors of manufacturing industry in order to set the priority for policy intervention. Data of manufacturing industry in the survey on the current status of occupational safety and health was used with factor analysis and radar graphic method. Authors have categorized sub-sectors of manufacturing industry into four categories, attained group, active group, neglected group, and passive group based on injury rate, level of safety and health activities. The neglected group may be the first target group for occupational safety and health policy guiding some detailed occupational safety and health activities. Limitation of this study is that cross sectional data was analyzed. The long term effect could not be analyzed.

  • This paper considers dynamic impedance functions and presents a detailed analysis of the soil plasticity influence on the pile-group foundation dynamic response. A three-dimensional finite element model is proposed, and a calculation method considering the time domain is detailed for the nonlinear dynamic impedance functions. The soil mass is modeled as continuum elastoplastic solid using the Mohr-Coulomb shear failure criterion. The piles are modeled as continuum solids and the slab as a structural plate-type element. Quiet boundaries are implemented to avoid wave reflection on the boundaries. The model and method of analysis are validated by comparison with those published on literature. Numerical results are presented in terms of horizontal and vertical nonlinear dynamic impedances as a function of the shear soil parameters (cohesion and internal friction angle), pile spacing ratio and frequencies of the dynamic signal.

  • Objectives: The goal of this study was to investigate the antidepressive effect of Bupleuri Radix (BR). Methods : The forced swimming test (FST) was performed. Also the expression of corticotropin releasing factor (CRF), c-Fos and tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) was measured immunohistochemically at paraventricular nucleus (PVN) and locus coeruleus (LC).   • 본 논문에서는 동일한 동영상을 검출하기 위한 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 시공간 그룹특징 핑거프린팅이다. 동영상의 프레임은 고정된 비율 방법으로 추출되며, 수직그룹과 수평그룹으로 나눠진다. 서술자는 각 그룹특징을 이진화 핑거프린팅으로 추출하여 만든다. 그 다음 원본 동영상의 서술자로 두 종류의 핑거프린팅 데이터베이스를 구축하여 질의 동영상과 정합한다. 효율적이고 효과적인 동영상 복사 검색을 하기 위해 높은 강인성, 독립성, 정합 속도를 가져야 한다. 제안한 방법에선 그룹특징으로 동영상의 다양한 변형에 높은 강인성과 독립성을 가지게 된다. 구축된 원본 핑거프린팅 데이터베이스는 질의 동영상과의 고속 정합을 가능하게 해준다. 제안한 방법은 기존 방법들과 비교했을 때 다양한 변형에서 뛰어난 성능향상을 보였다. 특히, 속도 향상에 매우 뛰어난 성능을 가져온 것이 본 논문의 큰 장점이라 할 수 있다.

과학 수업에서 비유의 사용 방식이 학생들의 개념학습에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Method Using Analogy on Students' Concept Learning)

  • 이 연구에서는 과학 개념학습에서 비유의 사용 방식이 학생들의 비유 추론 능력에 따라 개념 이해와 대응 관계의 이해 및 파지에 미치는 영향을 조사하고, 비유 사용 방식에 따른 대응 오류의 양상을 비교하였다. 또한, 역할놀이 비유 활동에 대한 인식을 조사하였다. 중학교 1학년 152명을 두 집단에 배치하여 처치 집단에서는 '기체의 압력과 부피의 관계'에 대한 체험 중심의 역할놀이 비유 수업을, 비교 집단에서는 교사 설명 중심의 비유 수업을 진행하여 그 효과를 비교하였다. 연구 결과, 학생들의 비유 추론 능력에 관계없이 역할놀이 비유 활동을 사용한 수업이 교사 설명 중심의 비유 수업보다 학생들의 개념 이해에 효과적이었으며, 목표 개념과 비유물의 대응 관계를 오래 기억하도록 하는데 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 비유 사용 방식에 따라 학생들이 범하는 대응 오류의 양상에는 큰 차이가 없었으나, 역할놀이 비유 수업을 받은 학생들은 대응 관계 이해도 파지 검사에서 대응 오류의 빈도가 더 낮았다. 학생들은 역할놀이 비유 활동을 수행하는데 어려움이 없었고 활동에 적극적으로 참여했다고 응답하는 경우가 많았으며, 활동에 대한 흥미도가 높았다. 이에 대한 교육학적 함의를 논의하였다.
