타월용 시판소재의 촉감과 역학적 특성 (Tactility and Mechanical Properties of Marketing Towel)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relationship between the tactile sensation and mechanical properties of towel. Six kinds of towels with different surface structure and fiber composition were used for this study. To evaluate the tactility of towel, 36 adjectives were collected and then 11 adjectives were selected. The subjective evaluation was examined by one to one comparative method and by blind test for estimating the only the sense of touch of the towels. Kawabata's Evaluation system for fabrics was used to measure the mechanical properties which are tensile, bending, shear, compression, surface, weight, and thickness of six towels. The results are as follows; First, surface structure of the towels had an effect on estimation the sense of touch. Pile surface was evaluated thicker, compacter, more cushiony, and more elastic. Waffle surface was evaluated knottier and rougher, and microfiber suede surface was evaluated softer and denser. Second, the highest value of the mechanical properties measured were G, 2HG, B, and SMD of 100% cotton 100% pile, WC, T, and W of elban loop pile, WT, 2HB, and LC of 100% cotton cut pile, RT and MIU of microfiber suede, and RC of microfiber waffle. Third, the 11 adjectives were correlated with more than one mechanical property. 'Knotty' and 'rough' were correlated with MMD and SMD, 'soft' were correlated with B, 2HB, MMD, and SMD. 'Thick', 'heavy', 'compact', and 'elastic' were correlated with WC, T, and W, 'cushiony' was correlated with WC. 'Stiff' was correlated with B and 2HB, 'dry out' was correlated with RT, WC, MIU, and T. 'Dense' was correlated with RT and SMD.

Farmer's friendly technique of raising mat type healthy seedling in cold environment

  • High mortality and slow growth of seedling generally occurred in tray due to cold, foggy weather and severe seedling blight. Mechanical transplanting is hampered, farmers having economic loss. A sustainable method for raising mat type seedling is necessary. Experiments were conducted on disease control and seedling growth in dry seasons. Fungicides treated/untreated seeds were sown 120-130g in each tray containing pulverized fine grain loam/sandy loam soils. Seed covered with a thin layer of soil and irrigated. It was polythene covered (PC) for 72h and then every night along with 2/3 sprinkler irrigation (SI) per day. Untreated seedlings infected 53-93%. Pyraclostrobin, Azoxystrobin and Azoxystrobin+Difeconazole treated seeds/sprayed (72h) seedlings had no disease. Seedling height was 11.7-13.2 cm with compact and thick root mat at 25 days. Seeds treated at 0.2-0.3% (18-20h) showed no disease but severely in untreated seeds in all locations. Seedling height (13.8 cm), leaf age (3.7) and root number (8.5) were better when NPK were applied at 3-4-3 g/tray. Spraying of urea (1%) in addition with MOP, theovit and $ZnSo_4$ at 0.6-0.6-0.2% on 7 and $15^{th}$ days was also effective. PC showed significant growth (29.1-34.5%). Root mat was not good in flooded irrigation (FI). Disease was higher in SI (66.7-97.3%) than FI (0.7-3.7%) in untreated seeds regardless of polythene use. The protocol would be effective for raising mat type seedling in cold environment.

부분 용융 운전 조건에서 석탄슬러리 가스화 운전 특성 (Characteristics of Coal Slurry Gasification under Partial Slagging Operating Condition)

  • 석탄가스화 기술은 온실가스 배출이 많은 석탄을 사용하지만 이산화탄소 포집에 유리한 장점이 있어서 차세대 석탄활용 기술로 주목받고 있다. 석탄 또는 펫코크 슬러리를 이용하는 습식 가스화 기술은 건식 기술에 비하여 효율이 낮지만 낮은 건설비와 슬러리 공급 유연성 등의 장점으로 인하여 현재는 물론 미래에도 여전히 매력적인 기술로 인식될 것으로 판단된다. 본 연구에서는 역청탄을 슬러리화한 시료를 사용하고, 기존의 건식 석탄가스화기에 석탄슬러리 공급장치와 슬러리 공급 버너를 연계하여 가스화 실험을 수행하였다. 기존의 분류층 가스화기의 운전온도보다는 비교적 낮은 온도에서 운전을 수행하여 일부의 회재만이 슬랙으로 전환되고 나머지는 비산재로 배출되는 부분 용융형 가스화 운전을 수행하였다. 운전 종료 후 슬랙과 비산재를 포집하여 탄소전환율을 계산하였고, 탄소 질량 정산 방법을 적용하여 가스화 운전 성능을 나타내는 가장 중요한 지표인 냉가스효율을 계산하였다. 탄소전환율과 냉가스효율은 약 98.5% 및 60.4% 수준으로서 파일롯급 플랜트에서의 실험 결과임을 고려하면 비교적 높은 값을 나타내었다. 또한 실험 결과와 화학적 평형상태 계산 결과를 서로 비교하고 에너지 정산을 통하여 실험 결과의 건전성을 확인하였다.

전압방법(轉壓方法)이 전압효과((轉壓效果) 및 C. B. R. 값에 미치는 영향(影響) (The Influence of Field Compaction Method on the Efficiency of Compaction and the C. B. R. Value)

  • 성토(盛土)의 현장(現場)다짐에서 토질(土質)의 종류(種類), 층(層)의 두께 및 전압회수(轉壓回數)를 변화(變化)시키면서 진동(振動)과 무진동(無振動)의 전압기계(轉壓機械)로 다진 효과(效果)를 비교(比較)하기 위(爲)하여 들밀도 시험(試驗) 및 현장(現場)C.B.R.시험(試驗)을 하여 다음과 같은 결론(結論)을 얻었다. 1. 전압회수(轉壓回數)가 적을 때는 진동(振動)다짐이 무진동(無振動) 다짐 보다 다짐 효과(效果)가 크게 나타났으며 전압회수(轉壓回數)가 커지면 진동(振動)과 무진동(無振動) 다짐의 다짐률의 차(差)가 작아지는 경향(傾向)을 나타냈다. 2. 현재(現在) 사용(使用)하고 있는 대형화(大型化)된 전압장비(轉壓裝備)로 3~5회(回) 전압(轉壓)하면 A-1다짐의 기준에 도달(到達)하므로 앞으로는 대형화(大型化)된 장비(裝備)에 대비(對備)하기 위(爲)하여 D-2다짐을 기준으로 함이 바람직 하다고 생각한다. 3. 건조밀도(乾操密度)가 증가(增加)함에 따라 C. B. R. 값이 증가(增加)되나 진동(振動)다짐의 경우가 무진동(無振動)다짐에 비(比)하여 C. B. R. 값의 증가율(增加率)이 크게 나타났다. 4. 전압회수(轉壓回數)가 증가(增加)함에 따라 C. B. R. 값의 증가(增加)현상은 완만(緩晩)하게 나타나고 C. B. R 값은 진동(振動)다짐에서 무진동(無振動)다짐보다 약 20%정도 더 큰 값을 나타냈다. 5. C-5 시료(試料)에서는 다짐두께가 증가(增加)할수록 다짐률이 감소(減少)하여 다짐두께가 20~30cm로 변(變)할 때 다짐률은 완만(緩慢)하게 감소(減少)되었으나 30~40cm로 변(變)할 때는 다짐률이 급격(急擊)히 떨어졌으므로 전압층(轉壓層)의 두께는 30cm 이하(以下)로 함이 바람직하다고 생각한다.

Development and Characterization of Horse Bone-derived Natural Calcium Phosphate Powders

  • Purpose: This study was to develop an effective process for fabricating biocompatible calcium phosphate powders (CPPs) using horse bones, and to investigate the characteristics of them. Methods: The characteristics of horse bone powders (HBPs) were investigated according to the different osseous tissue types (compact bone and cancellous bone), bone types (spine and tibia), pretreatment methods (cold water, $H_2O_2$, and hot water), sintering time (4, 8 and 12h), and sintering temperature (600, 900, 1100 and $1300^{\circ}C$). In addition, the grinding methods were compared based on the wet grinding (ball mill) and dry grinding (blade grinder) method to make it as powders. Finally, their cytotoxicity and cell viability were checked. Results: Regardless of the types of osseous tissues and bones, HBPs were well fabricated as biocompatible CPPs. It was also found that the pretreatment methods did not influence on the resultants, showing well-fabricated HBPs. Considering the processing time, the hot water method was the most suitable compared to other pretreatment methods. Further, 12h-sintering time was sufficient to remove residual organic compounds. The sintering temperatures greatly affected the properties of bone powders fabricated. The x-ray diffraction (XRD) peak of horse bone sintered at $600^{\circ}C$ was most closed to that of hydroxyapatite (HA). Our bioactivity study demonstrated that the HBPs fabricated by sintering horse bones at $1300^{\circ}C$ showed the best performance in terms of cell viability whereas the HBPs $1100^{\circ}C$ showed the cytotoxicity. Conclusions: Using various types of horse bone tissues, biocompatible CPPs were successfully developed. We conclude that the HBPs may have a great potential as biomaterials for various biological applications including bone tissue engineering.
