분산형 마이크로 터빈 열병합 발전시스템 개발 (Development of Distributed Micro Turbine Co-generation System)

  • In concert with the growing emphasis placed on distributed power generation there will be a need, in the first decade of the 21th century, for a compact thermal energy system capable of providing the total energy needs of individual homes. A natural gas fueled co-generation micro-turbine with ultra low emission will meet this need. Market opportunities for a distributed micro turbine co-generation system are projected to increase dramatically. In this paper, It was determined that with current state of art component performance levels, metrallic materials, thermal efficiency goal of $28\%$ at sea level standard day conditions are attainable. Higher overall thermal efficiency of $78\%$ is attainable with micro-turbine combined with exhaust fired boilers.

초고온융 공기예열식 열교환기의 개발 및 성능 평가 (The Development and Performance Evaluation of the Air-preheating Heat Exchanger for Ultra-high Temperature Applications)

  • A compact air-preheating type heat exchanger was developed and tested for the ultra-high temperature heat recovery applications. For the direct use of exhaust gases up to $1200^{\circ}C$, the heat exchanger adopted a ceramic core with high strength and low thermal expansion coefficient less than $1{\times}10^{-6}^{\circ}C^{-1}$. The ceramic core was fabricated by special extrusion and bonding techniques. To minimize thermal stresses in the core, spring-loaded sealing mechanism was designed and successfully installed. 1-pass air flow scheme was adopted for the compactness and cost-savings. The pressure test for the ceramic core showed no failure under 35 kPa and less than 3% leak under 7 kPa. Flue gas simulation system was developed to investigate the performance of the heat exchanger. The test results showed normal operations of the heat exchanger up to $1200^{\circ}C$ of exhaust gases and relatively high heat recovery efficiencies of 31~39% depending upon exhaust gas temperatures..

세라믹 열교환기의 성능평가를 위한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study for Performance Evaluation of a Ceramic Heat Exchanger)

  • Exhaust gas of an industrial furnace used at such as metallurgy or ceramic manufacturing usually contains thermal energy with high temperature which can be recycled by heat exchanger. However, when the temperature of the exhaust gas is high such as more than $1,000^{\circ}C$, ordinary metallic heat exchanger cannot fully recover the heat due to the limitation of operating temperature depending on the material property. In the present study, a compact ceramic heat exchanger of cross flow type is introduced and evaluated by heat exchange rate and operating temperature. The ceramic heat exchanger can endure the gas temperature more than $1,300^{\circ}C$, and its volumetric heat exchanging rate exceeds 1 MW/$m^3$. The experimental data is also compared with the previous numerical result which shows reasonable agreement. Meanwhile, the gas leakage rate is measured to be about 3~4%, and heat loss to environmental air is about 23~26% of the fuel energy.

  • Silicon carbide (SiC) is a candidate material for heat exchangers for VHTR (Very High Temperature Gas Cooled Reactor) due to its refractory nature and high thermal conductivity. This research has focused on demonstration of physical properties and mock-up fabrication for the future heat exchange applications. It was found that the SiC-based components can be applied for process heat exchanger (PHE) and intermediate heat exchanger (IHX), which are operated at $400{\sim}1000^{\circ}C$, based on our examination for the following aspects: optimum fabrication technologies (design, machining and bonding) for compact design, thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance in sulfuric acid environment at high temperature, and simulation results on heat transferring and thermal stress distribution of heat exchanger mock-up.

동일한 유입온도조건에서 R134a와 R22 적용 응축기의 특성비교 (Comparison of Condenser Characteristics using R134a and R22 under the Same Inlet Temperature Condition)

  • 본 연구에서는 상용 냉동 공조기기에서 사용하고 있는 휜-관 열교환기에서 R22와 이의 대체냉매로 채용하고 있는 R134a 압력강하와 열전달 특성에 대해 실험적으로 연구하였다. 실험은 입구온도 $60^{\circ}C$, 질량유량 $150,\;200,\;250\;kg/m^{2}s$의 범위에 대해 수행하였다. 이때 공기의 유입조건은 전구온도 $35^{\circ}C$, 상대습도 40%, 공기유속은 $0.68{\sim}1.6m/s$이다. 실험 결과 응축기 출구의 과냉도를 $5^{\circ}C$로 유지한 경우 Rl34a의 필요공기유속은 R22보다 5.9%작게 나타났으며, R134a의 압력강하는 R22보다 $18.1{\sim}20.4%$의 범위 내에서 크게 나타났다.

CO튜브 삽입에 따른 오염 물질 배출특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Emission Characteristics of Inserting CO Tube)

  • 본 연구는 컴팩트 연소실내 CO 튜브 삽입에 따른 $NO_x$ 및 CO 배출 특성에 관한 연구로써, CO 튜브 삽입에 따른 연소기와 CO튜브 사이의 거리와, CO튜브와 주열교환기 사이의 거리에 따른 배출 특성을 검토하였다. 본 연구를 위해 상용프로그램인 Fluent와 GRI 2.11 상세 반응 기구를 이용하여 수치해석과 상용 열교환기 실험을 통해 CO튜브 삽입에 관한 CO 및 $NO_x$ 배출특성을 검토하였다. 그 결과 연소기와 주열교환기 사이에 CO 튜브를 삽입하여 CO 튜브가 연소기에 근접하고 CO 튜브와 주열교환기 사이를 넓어짐으로써 $NO_x$ 및 CO 저감에 효과가 있음을 확인할 수 있었으며, 이로 인해 CO 튜브 삽입에 따른 $NO_x$ 및 CO를 동시 저감법을 확인할 수 있었다.

극세관 헬리컬 코일 증발관내 R-22의 열전달 및 압력손실 특성 (Characteristics of Heat Transfer and Pressure Drop of R-22 Inside an Evaporating Tube with Small Diameter Helical Coil)

  • To make compact evaporator, experiments that show characteristics of evaporating heat transfer and pressure drop in the helically coiled small diameter tube were taken in this research. The experiments were performed with HCFC-22 in the helically coiled small diameter tube; inner diameter=1.0(mm), tube length=2.0(m), and curvature diameter=31, 34, 46.2(mm). The experiments were also carried out with the following test conditions; saturation pressure=0.588(MPa), mass velocity=$150{\sim}500(kg/m^2s)$, and heat flux=$1{\sim}5(kW/m^2)$. The experiment results are that the empirical correlation to predict heat transfer coefficient for single phase flow in helically coiled small diameter tube was obtained. It was found that dry-out is occurred at low-quality region for evaporation heat transfer because of breaking of annular liquid film. The friction factor of single phase flow of helically coiled tube was agreed with Prandtl's correlation. Finally, It was proposed for correlation that can precisely predict the friction factor of two phase flow of helically coiled tube.

초대형 열교환기용 열판 성형을 위한 22,000Ton급 유압 프레스 개발 (Development of 22,000Ton Hydraulic Press for the Forming of Heat Plate with Ultra-Large Size)

  • 22,000 Ton hydraulic press was developed using wire winding method. The hydraulic press consists of three piece of frame type. The outer layers of yoke-column frame and main cylinder linear were wound with piano wire(1mm${\times}$4mm) under controlled tension and the total length of wound wire was about 450Km. The developed hydraulic press is used for the forming of heat plate with ultra-large size. To obtain large force with relative small apparatus, high pressure of $1,500 Kgf/cm^2$ was supplied to main cylinder through pressure amplification by booster pump. Therefore sealing technique of main cylinder is so crucial that the seals were made of mitre ring type with super-elastic metal. The press total weight is about 150 tons, which is quite light and compact relative to that of conventional hydraulic press.

  • In this study, heat transfer and Pressure drop characteristics for R-718 in the plate and shell heat exchanger (P&SHE) investigated experimentally. The plates are circular and welded into a stack which fits into a cylindrical shell in P&SHE. Although apparently very different from rectangular the compact brazed plate heat exchanger (CBE), the underlying flow passage structure through the P&SHE is the same as in the CBE. The R-718 between plate side and shell side was performed a counterflow heat exchange. Heat transfer characteristic of R-718 were measured for turbulent flow in P&SHE by using wilson plot technique. Heat transfer experiment Ivas performed in the $200{\leq}Re{\leq}500$ regime and Pressure drop experiment was performed in the $150{\leq}Re{\leq}1600$ regime.
