As more people share their opinions in online communities, such as Internet portals and social networking services, more opinions are manipulated for the benefit of particular individuals and groups. In particular, when manipulations occur for political purposes, they influence election results as well as government policies and the quality of life. This type of manipulation has targeted the general public, and their analysis and detection has also focused on such manipulation. However, to more efficiently spread propaganda, recent manipulations have targeted common interest groups(e.g., a group of those interested in real estate) and propagated information whose content and style are customized to those groups. This work characterizes such manipulations on common interest groups and proposes method to detect manipulations. To this end, we collected and analyzed opinions posted on 10 common interest groups before and after an election. As a result, we found that manipulations on common interest groups indeed occurred and were gradually increasing toward the election date. We also proposed a detection system that examines individual opinions, their authors, and their collaborators. Using the collected opinions, we demonstrated that the proposed system can accurately classify more than 90% of manipulated opinions and that many of these opinions were posted by multiple collaborators. We believe that regular audits of opinions using the proposed system can quickly isolate manipulations and decrease their impact. Moreover, the proposed features can be used to identify manipulations in domains other than politics.

In this study, the analytical solution for diffraction near a vertical detached breakwater was suggested by superposing the solutions of diffraction near a semi-infinite breakwater suggested previously using linear wave theory. The solutions of wave forces acting on front, lee and composed wave forces on both side were also derived. Relative wave amplitude changed periodically in space owing to the interactions between diffracting waves and standing waves on front side and the interactions between diffracting waves from both tips of a detached breakwater on lee side. The wave forces on a vertical detached breakwater were investigated with monochromatic, uni-directional random and multi-directional random waves. The maximum composed wave force considering the forces on front and lee side reached maximum 1.6 times of wave forces which doesn't consider diffraction. This value is larger than the maximum composed wave force of semi-infinite breakwater considering diffraction, 1.34 times, which was suggested by Jung et al. (2021). The maximum composed wave forces were calculated in the order of monochromatic, uni-directional random and multi-directional random waves in terms of intensity. It was also found that the maximum wave force of obliquely incident waves was sometimes larger than that of normally incident waves. It can be known that the considerations of diffraction, the composed wave force on both front and lee side and incident wave angle are important from this study.
Integrated water resources management (IWRM) has focused on efficient response to various water related disasters by climate change. In particular, more flexible usage of conventional water resources infrastructures is expected to provide an eco-friendly water management. Multi-purpose dams and water supply dams are well known as water management facilities for securing and supplying water in drought season. Recently, based on the report '2021 multi-purpose use of hydropower dams in Han river', contribution of hydropower dams on water resources management is becoming more significant beyond the traditional role of hydropower generation. In drought conditions, the dams control water supply depending on the pre-defined drought stages. In the case of multi-purpose dams, an operation standard during drought has been already prepared and applied; however, for the hydropower dams, specific standards are not fully prepared yet in South Korea. In this study, a method for calculation of standard water storage and discharge reduction of hydropower dams according to drought stage is newly proposed reflecting the characteristics of hydropower dams. The proposed method was applied to the hydropower dams in Han river, where six hydropower dams are located. A case study of the historical droughts occurred in 2014-2017 demonstrated that the proposed hydropower dam operation rule could improve the water supply stability under severe drought conditions compared to the conventional operations. In the future, the role of hydropower dams for water resources management is expected to become more important, and this study can be widely used for water supply planning such as drought response using hydropower dams.
In this study, we revealed the location environment and community structural characteristics after extensively investigating Korea's warm-temperate island areas and categorizing vegetation through TWINSPAN analysis. Based on it, this study aims to suggest the direction of the vegetation restoration plan for warm-temperate forests by deriving a restoration strategy for each vegetation type. The vegetation types were clearly divided into eight types, and communities I through IV were good evergreen broad-leaved forests dominated by Machilus thunbergii and Castanopsis sieboldii. On the other hand, communities V through VIII were Pinus thunbergii forest, deciduous broad-leaved forest, and artificial forest, and retrogressive succession vegetation in the warm-temperate areas. The environmental factors derived from the DCA analysis were altitude (average temperature of the coldest month) and distance from the coastline (salt tolerance). The distribution pattern of warm-temperate forests has been categorized into M. thunbergii, C. sieboldii and Cyclobalanopsis spp. forest types according to the two environmental factors. It is reasonable to apply the three vegetation types as restoration target vegetation considering the location environment of the restoration target site. In communities V through VIII, P. thunbergiiand deciduous broad-leaved formed a canopy layer, and evergreen broad-leaved species with strong seed expansion frequently appeared in the ground layer, raising the possibility of vegetation succession as evergreen broad-leaved forests. The devastated land where forests have disappeared in the island areas is narrow, but vegetation such as P. thunbergii and deciduous broad-leaved forests, which have become a retrogressive succession, forms a large area. The restoration strategy of renewing this area into evergreen, broad-leaved forests should be more effective in realizing carbon neutrality and promoting biodiversity.

In Korea, annual precipitation and its variability have gradually increased since modern meteorological observations began, and the risk of disasters has also been increasing due to significant regional variations and recent abnormal climate conditions. Given that damage from storms and floods mainly occurs around rivers, it is crucial to determine the appropriate design frequency for river-related projects. This study examined existing design practices used to determine hydrological design frequencies and suggested a new method to determine appropriate design frequencies. The study collected available data pertaining to seven evaluation factors, specifically the basin areas, shape parameters, channel slopes, stream orders, backwater effect reaches, extreme rainfall frequencies, and urbanized flood inundation areasfor 413 local rivers in Chungcheongnam-do in Korea. The estimated weights for areas of extreme rainfall frequencies and urbanized flood inundation were found to be 18, having a great effect on determining the design frequency. Compared with the established design frequency in previous government reports, the estimated design frequency increased for 255 rivers and decreased for 158 rivers.
The performance of the relief wells installed for the purpose of controlling seepage of the dam embankment is affected by various parameters such as diameter, spacing, penetration rate, permeability coefficient of the ground, thickness of the foundation layer. Therefore, when the relief wells are adopted for the purpose of reducing seepage pressure, these parameters should be sufficiently reviewed to determine the installation specifications of the relief wells. This study evaluated the effect of the length of the geosynthetics blanket on the performance of the relief wells installed in the downstream part of the dam embankment with blankets in the upstream and downstream part of the dam embankment as countermeasure methods to control seepage of the dam embankment. In the relationship between the length of the upstream and downstream blanket and the discharge, the discharge of the relief wells decreases as the length of the upstream blanket increases, and on the other hand, the discharge of the relief wells decreases as the length of the downstream blanket increases. In the upper and lower blanket length-spacing relationship, as the length of the upstream blanket increases, the spacing of the relief wells increases and as the length of the downstream blanket increases, the spacing of the relief wells decreases. Therefore, when installing the relief wells in parallel with the blanket, it was found that increasing the length of the upstream blanket is more efficient than increasing the length of the downstream blanket in order to minimize the discharge of seepage discharge and to ensure economic feasibility by wider installation of the relief wells.
Structures such as bridge columns installed on the asymmetric ground such as mountain areas and sloping ground are subject to various loads such as wind, temperature, earthquake, and etc. The pile foundation is generally applied to bridge columns on the asymmetric ground in order to stably support structures. The behavior of the pile foundation supporting bridge columns changes due to various load conditions. In particular, ground-pile-structure interactions should be studied to analyze the behavior of the pile foundation that supports bridge columns effected by dynamic loads such as earthquakes. The pile foundation installed on the asymmetric ground effected by the earthquake has the complicated dynamic interaction between the foundation and the ground due to the ground slope, the difference in soil resistance according to the shaking direction, and the ground movements. In this study, the 1g shaking table tests were conducted to confirm the effect of the slope of the sloping ground on the dynamic behavior of group piles supporting the superstructure installed at the berm of the sloping sandy soil which is the asymmetric ground. The result shows that the acceleration of the pile cap and the superstructure decrease as the slope of the sloping ground increase, and the slope of the dynamic p-y curve of the pile decrease.

Currently, NFTs have no dominant application except for the proof of ownership for digital content, and it also have small liquidity problem, which makes their price difficult to predict. Real estate usually has very high barriers to investment due to its high pricing. Real estate can be converted into NFTs and also divided into small value fungible tokens (FTs), and it can increase the the volume of the investor community due to more liquidity and better accessibility. In this document, we implement and design a system that allows ordinary users can invest on high priced real estate utilizing Black Litterman (BL) model-based Portfolio investment interface. To this end, we target a set of real estates pegged as collateral and issue NFT for the collateral using blockchain. We use oracle to get the current real estate information and to monitor varying real estate prices. After tokenizing real estate into NFTs, we divide the NFTs into easily accessible price FTs, thereby, we can lower prices and provide large liquidity with price volatility limited. In addition, we also implemented BL based asset portfolio interface for effective portfolio composition for investing in multiple of real estates with small investments. Using BL model, investors can fix the asset portfolio. We implemented the whole system using Solidity smart contracts on Flask web framework with public data portals as oracle interfaces.
The agricultural reservoir is a critical water supply system in South Korea, providing approximately 60% of the agricultural water demand. However, the reservoir faces several issues that jeopardize its efficient operation and management. To address this issues, we propose a novel deep-learning-based water level recognition model that uses CCTV image data to accurately estimate water levels in agricultural reservoirs. The model consists of three main parts: (1) dataset construction, (2) image segmentation using the U-Net algorithm, and (3) CCTV-based water level recognition using either CNN or ResNet. The model has been applied to two reservoirs G-reservoir and M-reservoir with observed CCTV image and water level time series data. The results show that the performance of the image segmentation model is superior, while the performance of the water level recognition model varies from 50 to 80% depending on water level classification criteria (i.e., classification guideline) and complexity of image data (i.e., variability of the image pixels). The performance of the model can be improved if more numbers of data can be collected.

An initial local government center received direct asking from citizens, wrote the documents by hand, and issued them. Later the appearance of computers, printers, and faxes made it possible to handle civil complaints through copying. Since 2010, as the e-government has started, entering civil service requests into computers after identification by themselves and printing the results has become established. In addition, with the introduction of unmanned administrative services, civil services become available in various places, which causes the increased satisfaction of citizens. One of the services is an unmanned civil service issuing machine, and more than 20 kinds of documents, including a copy of resident registration, can be issued directly. Of course, additional help may be needed if citizens are not familiar with the latest technologies. However, the unmanned civil service issuing machine is a highly satisfactory way in that it is less time-limited as citizens can visit a community center or city hall after the end of work. However, the main problem is that resident registration numbers and fingerprint recognition are required depending on the type of issuance, which increases the inconvenience of handling citizen complaints and is shunned. To solve this problem, we aim to study a method for improving the fingerprint recognition method of unmanned civil service issuing machines by expanding personal identification.
