  • Due to recent change in fire stations, this study aims to propose improved directions for planning of 119 rescue centers through its analysis of spatial organization and characteristics by functional area based in case studies of new-design centers. The Korean 119 rescue centers have changed in terms of function and roles in line with the flow of changing social environments, so it has been required to give new spatial change to these centers. It's meant in this study to classify compulsory special service spaces for the 119 rescue centers by domain and to suggest design guidelines for each type of spaces. Eight case of recue centers that were newly built in and after 2008 were selected and analyzed to serve the purpose. Finally, the results of this study were as followed: First, each of the rescue centers is divided into several domain depending on the type of work, and there are meaningful characteristics in the vertical and horizontal spatial layout of the individual spaces. Second, there are specific differences among the spaces in the spatial occupation percentage. The percentage of the space for community service is obviously lower in the 119 rescue centers in Seoul than in Incheon. Third, the domain classification criteria of this study are selected based on earlier studies, and another space for community service is newly added as a result of making a case study.

The mean weight of the underweight children(26.2%) was 31.9$\pm$4.0kg, and that of the overweight children(26.9%) was 49.4$\pm$6.3kg. The average BMI of overweight children and underweight children was 21.0kg/$m^2$ and 15.5kg/$m^2$respectively. Method: The subjects were 463 elders who have lived in the Jeju Island and data were collected from June to August in 2005. Data were analyzed by SPSS 10.0. Result: The mean score of depression was 12.94 out of 30, and had a statistically significant correlation with educational level (F=2.943 p=.033), occupation (F=4.611. p=.010), and the number of chronic diseases (F=5.303. p=.001). When the cutoff of 18 points was applied based on Jung et al. (1997), the depression ratio was 12.4%, and when the cutoff parameter by Yesavage et al (1993) was applied, themoderate depression ratio was 74.8% and the severe depression ratio was 3.4%. In health recognition, consideration of usual health state had a significant correlation with depression (F=3.553 p=.007) but consideration of health state compared to the previous year wasn't. In health practice, sleeping was in a significant correlation with depression (F=3.574 p=.011), but smoking, alcohol drinking, exercise, and rest were not. • Nowadays, the knowledge of modern society through education has become more and more complicated. The education system and the educational philosophy have created various education systems and methods for each country due to the difference of history and culture. In Korea, there are various teaching methods in recent years. However, if the traditional teaching method in Korea is based on educating teachers with a good understanding of the contents taught, some foreign countries such as USA and Germany can express their thoughts of the total population. In this situation, this study researches cases of other countries that have different educational systems from ours. It compares the differences of social background, educational program, and educational space in Germany, Singapore and the United States. As a result of this study, the following contents can be derived. The educational program is based on the social background of each country and plans an educational space suitable for the education program. In Germany, the emphasis is on the students' experience and community consciousness rather than on the amount of knowledge, so a home base space is planned between the classrooms to solve the problem of lack of solidarity and belonging among the students who are lacking in the curriculum. Some practical courses are run in the community. In Singapore, educational programs are elite-oriented compared to the other country, and because of the typical tropical climate, educational facilities are characterized by a lot of common space in semi-exterior space. Many schools in the United States have IMC in the central part of their schools that adopt self-directed learning and discussion.
