Design of Cooperative Communication Protocol for UWB-based Distributed MAC Systems (UWB 기반 Distributed MAC 시스템을 위한 협력 통신 프로토콜 설계)

  • The WiMedia Alliance has specified a Distributed Medium Access Control (D-MAC) protocol based on UWB for high speed wireless home networks and WPANs. In this paper, we propose a novel cooperative communication protocol adaptive to current UWB link transmission rate. The proposed cooperative communication protocol has compatibility with current WiMedia D-MAC and Wireless USB standard and is executed at each device according to a Relay Node Selection (RNS) criterion.

  • It has been very difficult and inefficient to implement data synchronization in the multimedia information systems until now, because most data synchronizations have been implemented by ad hoc methodologies. In this paper, we propose a new synchroniation methodology implemented by scheduling using monitor. If users definece the temporal relationships of media data using high level user interface, then the monitor selects media data started at that time and controls setup time and precessing time. The scheduler determines the scheduling method or selected media data and adjusts the synchronization among them.

The Impact of Soundscape in Landscape Preference (경관의 선호도에 미치는 소리의 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to research the influence of soundscape in the preference of landscape. Specifically, Standards types of communications are applied to the landscape such as artificial waterscapes and natural valley. The spatial image was analyzed by the variables of Kaplan´s information processing model. The level of visual preferences was measured by a type of acoustic information in landscape and media of communication, and these data were analyzed by multiple regression. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; The value of landscape preference was not different from all fluent of coherence, complexity, legibility ,mystery and preference utilized the communication media, but it was different by the type of acoustic information in landscape. These results clearly show the influence of sound affecting decisions of landscape preference. The factors determining the level of landscape preference were found to be coherence, complexity, legibility, mystery and dummy variables of acoustic information in landscape and media od communication. These variables amy be the major factors which must be considered on planning and designing as the functional basis for the quantitative analysis.

  • 디지털 고구려는 안악 3 호분이라고 불리우는 고구려 고분을 가상현실을 이용해서 재현한 것이다. 이 가상환경은 고대 고구려의 문화적 배경과 생활 방식을 현대의 사람들에게 알려주기 위해 제작되었다. 본 논문에서는 멀리 떨어져 있었던 다방면의 전문가들이 모여서 함께 복원 작업을 한 것과 그 작업 과정에서 발생했던 문제점들과 배웠던 점들을 사례 연구를 통해 고찰하고 분석한다.

  • In the current analysis, we examine news coverage data widely used in media studies. News coverage data is usually time series data to capture the volume or the tone of the news media's coverage of a topic. We first describe the distributional properties of autoregressive conditionally heteroscadestic(ARCH) effects and compare two major American newspaper's coverage of U.S.-North Korea relations. Subsequently, we propose a change point detection model and apply it to the detection of major change points in the tone of American newspaper coverage of U.S.-North Korea relations.

  • 디지털방송은 다수의 채널 공급을 가능하게 하는데, 이러한 다채널 환경에서는 각 채널로 일일이 전환하지 않고도 어느 채널에 어떤 정보가 방송되고 있는지를 일목요연하게 파악 할 수 있는 전자 프로그램 가이드(EPG : Electronic Program Guide)가 필연적으로 요구된다. 본 논문은 EPG의 한 구현방법으로서 방송을 통해 TV에 전달되어 실행되는 Downloadable EPG를 설명하고 우리나라 디지털 위성방송 표준인 DVB-MHP규약을 따르는 구현방법과 구현결과를 기술하였다. 본 논문은 데이터 방송과 EPG의 구현에 관련된 참고 기술자료가 미비한 현실에서 디지털 방송의 EPG 개발자들이나 응용프로그램(application) 개발자들이 DVB-MHP 규약에 따라 다양한 종류의 EPG를 개발하는데 도움이 될 것이다.

  • 방통융합기술이 급격히 발전하고 이에 따른 서비스가 진화함에 따라 기존 미디어 환경은 실감화, 지능화, 연결화, 융합화 되는 스마트미디어 시대로 진입하면서 인간 생활에 혁신을 가져오고 있다. 기존 교육 환경이 학교의 틀에서 일방향의 형태로 지식을 전달하는 체제이지만, 4차 산업혁명시대에 진입하면서 사회는 굳은 조직과 질서의 틀을 벗어나 빠르게 다변화 하고 복잡해지는 사회 구조가 되어 가고 있어 지식을 쌓는 전통적인 교육보다는 당면한 문제를 주도적으로 해결할 수 있는 창의적 역량을 키워주어야 사회에서 적응할 수 있는 시대가 되었다. 따라서 이러한 스마트미디어를 교육 시스템에 활용하면 4차 산업혁명시대에 적합한 창의적 역량을 발휘할 수 있을 것이며 학습의 성취도, 만족도, 몰입도 등에서 상당한 효과를 얻을 수 있을 것이다. 본 논문은 현재와 미래의 융합미디어 환경에서 바람직한 교육정책을 제안하고자 한다.

An Analysis of Sub-factors of Digital Media Literacy Divide: Focusing on the effects of generation and economic status (디지털 미디어 리터러시 격차의 세부요인 분석 - 세대와 경제수준을 중심으로)

  • This study aims to analyze the current state and causes of digital media literacy divide according to its sub-factors. The effects of the generation and the economic status, among other variables, have been explored using empirical data from a large-scale survey of 2,171 media users including children, adolescents, adults and the elderly. The results showed that the effects of generation and economic status varied according to 8 components of digital media literacy. The economic status of media users has also been found to influence the divide among adults group and through the interaction effect with the generation factor. Policy suggestions for the solution of digital media literacy divide were discussed in conclusion.

Design and Performance Analysis of Multi-hop Routing Protocol for WiMedia (WiMedia를 위한 멀티홉 라우팅 프로토콜 개발 및 성능분석)

  • Though WiMedia supports the higher data rates than other WPAN technologies, a WiMedia device cannot reach other devices which are apart from it more than 10 meter; the limited transmission range of the WiMedia protocol. In this paper, we propose a multi-hop QoS routing protocol to enable WiMedia devices to transmit real-time data to devices that is located out of transmission range. The proposed routing protocol is a hybrid routing protocol, which is the mixed protocol of table-driven and on-demand routing algorithm. In the proposed protocol, a route for a device within 2-hop is established by using the table-driven routing algorithm and a route for the device beyond 2-hop is established by using the on-demand routing algorithm. We perform ns-2 simulation to investigate the performance of the proposed routing protocol with AODV and DSDV. The simulation results show that the proposed protocol's performance is better than AODV and DSDV in terms of the throughput and delay.
