  • Railroad Systems, which are national infrastructure industries, cause unexpected property and human damage if they fail to function while operating. Accordingly, railroad facilities supporting the railroad system are areas where high reliability and safety are required. However, it is time for systematic and scientific maintenance to be taken away from the traditional maintenance methods, as the nation's railroad facilities are now aging seriously. The purpose of this study was to secure the safety and reliability of the aging railroad communication facilities and to improve their performance. The research subjects were selected as a precision diagnosis process for railroad communication facilities, and improvement points were derived through detailed precision diagnosis process analysis. It is deemed that this study can contribute based on securing stability, improving reliability, and continuous improvement of railroad communication facilities should be conducted in the operation of the entire railroad system.

  • Recently, the necessity of rapid response to social problems such as disasters and quarantine arising from the complex and diverse social structures has emerged. As the number of large buildings increases, large-scale human damage is expected in the event of a disaster such as fire. To solve this problem, efficient control must be achieved through interfacing with various equipment and facilities installed inside the building. In this paper, we intend to study the interface method for various facilities in the building for efficient control. In detail, the facility standard model is defined by examining the status and specification of building. In addition, we intend to design and propose a standard facility communication data frame to support the protocol applicable to this model.

  • The existing facility management system is capable of managing two-dimensional and three-dimensional models that were driven from maps and registered documents. However, it is not capable to collect various fields data on a real time and operate the integrated systems. To supplement those obstacles, constructing a facility management system based on ubiquitous environment is needed. Therefore, this research has proposed the modified UFID(Unique Feature IDentifier), which is more suitable for the facility management by modifying management agency and serial codes system in the existing UFID. In addition, we established the procedures for ubiquitous environment based on facility management using proposed UFID. The feasibility of this research was assessed through case study focused on roadside trees. It is considered that the results can be applied to many other ubiquitous environments based on facility management.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship between psychological wellbeing of social welfare facility workers and their organizational commitment. The subjects of this study were 230 social welfare facility workers in OO city, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Korea. Analysis was conducted using the SPSS program, including frequency analysis, reliability analysis and correlation analysis, and regression analysis on the causal relationship between variables. The results of the study showed that the psychological wellbeing of social welfare facility workers had a meaningful effect on their emotional commitment, continuous commitment and normative commitment. These results confirmed that the higher the psychological wellbeing of social welfare facility workers, the higher the sub-factors of organizational commitment, such as emotional, continuous, normative commitment, resulting in positive effects on the achievement of goals and values that are pursued by the welfare facilities. This study aims to become foundational data for the improvement of working conditions to improve psychological wellbeing of social welfare facility workers to increase organizational commitment.

  • This study discusses "mechanisms" in a research facility, specifically focusing on the question of how we can understand what happens in the physical environment and the communication between researchers. This study attempts to address this question by examining two physical settings, before and after the move of one research-educational facility, the Institute of Paper Science and Technology. The objective of the study is to suggest conceptual models to comprehend the relationships between spatial layouts and communication. The study examines the underlying mechanism of how the levels of communication meet the layers of spatial structure. The paper has four parts. First, the preceding studies will be reviewed evoking some issues of communication and physical setting in research facilities. Second a conceptual typology in office plan will be developed providing a theoretical framework to review the spatial organization of the subject research facility, the Institute of Paper Science and Technology (IPST). Third, the spatial organization of the former building (before the move) and the present building (after the move) of IPST will be analyzed. Finally, conceptual models of the mechanism between the communication and the spatial organization will be drawn up.

  • In this paper, a power facility communication control device was designed to autonomously determine and separate the fault section through communication between power facilities in the smart grid distribution system. In the power facility communication control device, the control module was designed as a DSP to measure three-phase voltage and current, and the communication module was designed as an embedded-based Raspberry Pi to determine the fault section and realize the fault section separation through communication between power facilities. Communication between DSP and Raspberry Pi was designed by SPI communication, and communication between Raspberry Pi was designed based on Wi-Fi. Finally, a performance evaluation system based on three power facility communication control devices was built, and simulation verification was conducted for various fault events that may occur on the distribution line. As a result of the test evaluation, it was possible to confirm the effectiveness of the design methodology of the communication control device by showing the required response of the communication control device to all test cases.

  • Recently, water sewage disposal facilities are able to manage real-time data collection and record management through compact broadband modem LAN switching technology. Therefore, it needs more stable and efficient facility management. So, we required practical use of environmental facilities convergence based on broadband integrated modem. In this paper, we proposed short distance wireless communication network of compact broadband modem for sewage disposal facilities. And it received data inside of water treatment facility using the two communication methods (IEEE802.11x and IEEE802.15.4x). Then, our proposed an data-flow control algorithm of wireless network technology will prioritize processing data when emergency happen through collecting data, analysis data and processing. Lastly, we proved usefulness by experiment and simulation analysis.

  • A theme park runs various programs to provide users entertainments. Among the programs of the theme park, amusement facilities are the most favorite ones used by the users. However, Since the waiting time of the amusement facilities becomes increasing due to the large number of the users, the satisfaction of the users is diminished heavily, To solve this problem, we propose a reservation system for amusement facility using near field communication. In the proposed system, a server appends the user to the waiting queue of the amusement facility when an user contacts the reader of an amusement facility using NFC, If an clock approaches to the time that the user will exploit the amusement facility, the server notifies to the user. The implemented reservation system has the benefit to provide the user chances to exploit other programs during the waiting time.

  • In order to design mutual communication between a distributed control system and a function test facility, we used the Inter-Process Communication(IPC) in two systems and Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol(TCP/IP) protocol. The data from the function test facility are put in the shared memory using an IPC, which is then accessed by the distributed control system through an Application Program Interface(API). The server in the function test facility includes two processes(one for sending and one for receiving), which are generated by the fork function from the client signal. The client in the distributed control system includes two separate programs(one for receiving and one for sending).

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the difference in social support and job satisfaction of disabled facility workers according to their general characteristics and job characteristics, and to understand the effect of social support on job satisfaction. A questionnaire was conducted against 143 disabled facility workers in D metropolitan city, from 5 January to 29 February 2016. The results of the study are as follows: first, no significant difference was found in the social support of disabled facility workers according to their general characteristics, and only the factor of job area showed significant difference in social support according to job characteristics. Secondly, there was no significant difference in job satisfaction of disabled facility workers according to their general characteristics or job characteristics. Thirdly, support of the superior, as a sub-factor of social support recognised by the disabled facility worker, was found to have a significant positive effect on job satisfaction. This study seeks to become foundational data for the development of plans to improve the job satisfaction of disabled facility workers.
