  • The proposed EMC filter composed with feed-through capacitors and ferrite beads of high permeability was prepared which satisfy the EMC standard for a wide-band noise signal in the frequence of 10 MHz to 1.5 GHz in power supply line. The optimum structure of ferrite bead was found by calculating the load effect of ferrite beads. As a result, the filter showed excellent differential- and common-mode noises filtering characteristics above 30dB in the frequency band from 10 MHz to 1.5 GHz. The immunity characteristics are improved more than 10 to 30 dB over the frequency band from DC to 1.8GHz.

  • This paper deals with EMC filter for a personal computer( PC). A PC contains many sources of noise inside and out, with many connected cables. High noise levels are also emitted from the PC became of high-speed signals. So radiated noise from the computer body may sometimes cause problems. Therefore, we design and fabricate an electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) filter for PC, which is composed of feed-through capacitors and ferrite beads with high permeability. Through extensive test, the proposed EMC filter is shown to have excellent differential-mode and common-mode noises filtering characteristics above 30 dB in the frequency band from 10 MHz to 1.5 GHz. • Noncontact electrocardiogram (ECG) measurement using capacitive-coupled technique is a very reliable long-term noninvasive health-care remote monitoring system. It can be used continuously without interrupting the daily activities of the user and is one of the most promising developments in health-care technology. However, ECG signal is a very small electric signal. A robust system is needed to separate the clean ECG signal from noise in the measurement environment. Noise may come from many sources around the system, for example, bad contact between the sensor and body, common-mode electrical noise, movement artifacts, and triboelectric effect. Thus, in this paper, the extended Kalman filter (EKF) is applied to denoise a real-time ECG signal in capacitive-coupled sensors. The ECG signal becomes highly stable and noise-free by combining the common analog signal processing and the digital EKF in the processing step. Furthermore, to achieve ubiquitous monitoring, android-based application is developed to process the heart rate in a realtime ECG measurement.

  • When the current flows to parallel lines with different length, it is researched that the radiation is occured by the common-mode current radiates, and the small light weight antenna composed of dual elements by using the principle is proposed. However, there is a problem in production about this antenna because this liner antenna is structured by combining with wires. In this paper, we improved this liner antenna, and designed the plane antenna composed of dual elements with different length in the plane printed board to produce and to design easily. Furthermore, the antenna with the wide-band characteristic is also designed in the same board. The radiation pattern is similar to the dipole antenna on account of designing the triangular patch S, the notch and two tapers in patch S, the notch and two tapers in the antenna element. In result, it was able to design the antenna working wider band-width(the bandwidth ratio about 58%, $VSWR{\le}2$).

  • The objective of this work presented here was experimental study of steadystate and cold start exhaust nano-sized particle characteristics from common rail diesel engine. The effect of the diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) on the particle number reduction was insignificant, however, particle number concentration levels were reduced by 3 orders of magnitude into the downstream of diesel particulate filter (DPF). In high speed and load conditions, natural regeneration of trapped particle occurred inside DPF and it was referable to increase particle number concentration. As fuel injection timing was shifted BTDC $6^{\circ}CA$ to ATDC $4^{\circ}CA$, particle number concentration level was slightly reduced, however particle number and size was increased at ATDC $9^{\circ}CA$. Nucleation type particle reduced and accumulation type particle was increased on EGR condition.

  • When we want to observe and record a patient's EEG in an operating room, the operation of electrosurgical unit(ESU) causes undesirable artifacts with high frequency and high voltage. These artifacts make the amplifiers of the conventional EEG system saturated and prevent the system from measuring the EEG signal. This paper describes a high-performance bipolar EEG amplifier for a CSA (compressed spectral array ) system with reduced ESU artifacts. The designed EEG amplifier uses a balanced filter to reduce the ESU artifacts, and isolates the power supply and the signal source of the preamplifier from the ground to cut off the current from the ESU to the amplifier ground. To cancel the common mode noise in high frequency, a high CMRR(common mode rejection ratio) diffferential amplifier is used. Since the developed bipolar EEG amplifier shows high gain, low noise, high CMRR, high input impedance, and low thermal drift, it is possible to observe and record more clean EEG signals in spite of ESU operation. Therefore the amplifier may be applicable to a high-fidelity CSA system.

  • The increase of triplen harmonics in three-phase four-wire systems leads to overloaded neutral conductor, common-mode noise problems, derating of transformers, and so on. Various compensator has been designed to prevent the problems associated with the triplen harmonics. But these can not protect distribution system effectively because the triplen harmonic source is distributed extensively and distribution system type is diverse. This paper explain the operation and installation of single phase active power filter to eliminate triplen harmonics and then it is verified by simulation.

  • As automation equipment and electronic device progresses, the importance of power quality is more increasing. This paper represents the analysis and suppression about the causes of trouble by the inverter's ON/OFF noise in plant in order to prevent damage resulting in a secondary damage to conduct precise diagnosis and effective noise reduction. The countermeasure as a reduced carrier frequency and the LC resonant filter had been applied and confirmed the effective results to solve the trouble of noise.
