Changes in morphological characteristics of common mushroom fruiting bodies in different harvest flush (양송이 재배주기에 따른 형태적 특성 변화)

  • Five varieties of mushrooms, including Sae-do, were examined using farm field tests to determine their morphological characteristics and quality by performing harvest flush. Considering the cultivation characteristics of the varieties studied, the parts related to mushroom generation and production showed almost similar characteristics. Overall, the mycelial forces were similar; however, in the evaluation of plantation tests performed by farmers, "saedo" was found to be the strongest and "saehan" was considered to be the weakest. Weights of fruiting bodies were related more for compost status and regimen of use than for breeding, and it was difficult to distinguish between the weights of fruiting bodies of the varieties studied. Regardless of the variety, pileus diameter, pileus thickness, and stem length of Dalseong-gun, Yongin-si, and Boryeong-si decreased as the harvest flush progressed. However, stem thickness tended to increase in the second and third flush compared to that in the first flush, regardless of the variety. However, the Gyeongju-si farms could not identify any trends attributable to varieties and harvest flushes. The pileus size and stem length of the fruiting bodies of varieties from Buyeo farms decreased with the progression of the harvest flush. However, pileus thickness and stem thickness did not show any specific tendency of growth among the varieties studied. The differences in the morphological characteristics of mushroom varieties in each harvest cycle are expected to be caused by differences in the supply of nutrients in the medium, the quality of the compost used, and the cultivation environment rather than the variety.

Trend in Research and Application of Hard Carbon-based Thin Films (탄소계 경질 박막의 연구 및 산업 적용 동향)

  • Diamond-like carbon (DLC) is a convenient term to indicate the compositions of the various forms of amorphous carbon (a-C), tetrahedral amorphous carbon (ta-C), hydrogenated amorphous carbon and tetrahedral amorphous carbon (a-C:H and ta-C:H). The a-C film with disordered graphitic ordering, such as soot, chars, glassy carbon, and evaporated a-C, is shown in the lower left hand corner. If the fraction of sp3 bonding reaches a high degree, such an a-C is denoted as tetrahedral amorphous carbon (ta-C), in order to distinguish it from sp2 a-C [2]. Two hydrocarbon polymers, that is, polyethylene (CH2)n and polyacetylene (CH)n, define the limits of the triangle in the right hand corner beyond which interconnecting C-C networks do not form, and only strait-chain molecules are formed. The DLC films, i.e. a-C, ta-C, a-C:H and ta-C:H, have some extreme properties similar to diamond, such as hardness, elastic modulus and chemical inertness. These films are great advantages for many applications. One of the most important applications of the carbon-based films is the coating for magnetic hard disk recording. The second successful application is wear protective and antireflective films for IR windows. The third application is wear protection of bearings and sliding friction parts. The fourth is precision gages for the automotive industry. Recently, exciting ongoing study [1] tries to deposit a carbon-based protective film on engine parts (e.g. engine cylinders and pistons) taking into account not only low friction and wear, but also self lubricating properties. Reduction of the oil consumption is expected. Currently, for an additional application field, the carbon-based films are extensively studied as excellent candidates for biocompatible films on biomedical implants. The carbon-based films consist of carbon, hydrogen and nitrogen, which are biologically harmless as well as the main elements of human body. Some in vitro and limited in vivo studies on the biological effects of carbon-based films have been studied [$2{\sim}5$].The carbon-based films have great potentials in many fields. However, a few technological issues for carbon-based film are still needed to be studied to improve the applicability. Aisenberg and Chabot [3] firstly prepared an amorphous carbon film on substrates remained at room temperature using a beam of carbon ions produced using argon plasma. Spencer et al. [4] had subsequently developed this field. Many deposition techniques for DLC films have been developed to increase the fraction of sp3 bonding in the films. The a-C films have been prepared by a variety of deposition methods such as ion plating, DC or RF sputtering, RF or DC plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD), electron cyclotron resonance chemical vapor deposition (ECR-CVD), ion implantation, ablation, pulsed laser deposition and cathodic arc deposition, from a variety of carbon target or gaseous sources materials [5]. Sputtering is the most common deposition method for a-C film. Deposited films by these plasma methods, such as plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) [6], are ranged into the interior of the triangle. Application fields of DLC films investigated from papers. Many papers purposed to apply for tribology due to the carbon-based films of low friction and wear resistance. Figure 1 shows the percentage of DLC research interest for application field. The biggest portion is tribology field. It is occupied 57%. Second, biomedical field hold 14%. Nowadays, biomedical field is took notice in many countries and significantly increased the research papers. DLC films actually applied to many industries in 2005 as shown figure 2. The most applied fields are mold and machinery industries. It took over 50%. The automobile industry is more and more increase application parts. A Comparative Analysis of Korean and Chinese Medicinal Plant Resources and Traditional Knowledge Using Data Analysis (데이터 분석기법을 이용한 한국과 중국의 약용식물자원과 전통지식 정보 비교분석)

  • We analyzed the data on medicinal plants and related traditional knowledge in Korea and China using data analysis method. There are 108 families 214 genera 542 species, and 202 families 660 genera 1,261 species were found in Korea and China respectively. Total of 86 families (79.6%) and 130 genera (60.7%) were in common both countries. More than one information were recorded in many species, however, there was only one information from some species (32.7% of genera in Korea, and 58.8% of genera in China). The most frequent appeared plant family was Compositae (Asteraceae) in both countries (8.4% in Korea and 10.7% in China) and followed by Rosecease and Leguminocae (Fabaceae). Plant parts were classified 11 parts and roots were mostly used in Korea and whole plants in China. Usages were described in different terms of ailments or symptoms. There are 120 usage in Korea and 230 in China. Plant uses for the ailment or symptoms are pain, digestive system disorder, cold and etc. in Korea. In China, plants were mostly used for clear heat, digestive system disorder, cough and etc. Relation between the plant and ailment(symptom) of the top 10 plants in Korea and China was different although from same plant family. We also analyzed the relations between plant species and part used, and plants parts and ailment(symptom). With the data analysis method, we were able to collect the medicinal plant resources data and found the differences in plant resources, usage, and plant part for use. The result provide important information of the plant resources and related traditional knowledge of Korea for use of plant resources in industry and facilitate to plan a strategy to cope with Nagoya Protocol in the future.

Determination of Uranium Concentration in Solid- and Liquid-state Geological Materials by Fission Track Registration Technique and its Applicability (피션트랙 검출기법에 의한 고체 및 액체상태 지질물질의 우라늄 정량과 그 적용성)

  • The fission track registration techniques for accurate determinations of uranium in solid- and liquid-state geological materials were recommended and their applicability were examined. The determination of uranium can be achieved by optical counting of neutron-induced fission tracks of $^{235}U$ registered on solid-state track detectors under high magnification. In a dry registration method using powdered pellets of rocks (e.g., granite and coal) showing good uranium-affinity, it was not easy to decide an overall mean concentration over the total sample owing to track-clusters caused by frequent presence of uranium-bearing minerals. Separate scanning for homogeneous and track-clustered parts may be an alternative choice. Assuring the homogeneity over the whole sample, high reproducibilities were confirmed both from duplicate detections using mica and Lexan polycarbonate detectors and from multiple measurements at different thermal neutron fluences. The wet registration method using sealed quartz tubes is recommended to overcome the common heterogeneity in uranium concentrations of $10^1ppm$ and more. Adopting the wet registration, the uranium homogeneity was recovered below the $10^0ppm$ level and the lower detection limit was proved to reach without difficulty the $10^2ppb$ (i.e. $ng\;g^{-1}$) level.

Hydrological Drought Analysis and Monitoring Using Multiple Drought Indices: The Case of Mulrocheon Watershed (수문학적 가뭄감시 및 해석을 위한 다양한 가뭄지수 평가 -물로천 유역을 중심으로-)

  • Due to climate change, parts of Korea are experiencing large and small droughts every 2-3 years and extreme droughts every 7 years. Since most droughts occur mainly in areas where small water supply facilities in the tributaries or upstream are located, more research on technology for securing water in these areas is required. In this study, a drought evaluation using SPEI (Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index), SDI (Streamflow Drought Index), and WBDI (Water Budget-based Drought Index) was performed to investigate hydrological drought in the Mulrocheon watershed of Chuncheon, a vulnerable area in terms of water supply. As a result of calculating hydrological drought indices SPEI and SDI, examining each duration, it was confirmed that the common drought in 2014 did not recover and continued until 2015. In the hydrological drought index evaluation result by WBDI, a very severe drought condition was observed in the spring of 2015 following 2014, and that drought was the most severe at -1.94 in November 2017. As a result of deriving a SDF (Severity-Duration-Frequency) curve through frequency analysis by duration using the drought index calculated on a monthly basis from 2003 to 2019 (17 years), most droughts in the Mulrocheon watershed were found to have a return period of less than 10 years, but droughts that occurred in 2014, 2015, and 2019 were found to cover more than 20 years, respectively.

  • Currently, the method of user-follwoing in intelligent cooperative robots usually based in vision system and using Lidar is common and have excellent performance. But in the closed space of Corona 19, which spread worldwide in 2020, robots for cooperation with medical staff were insignificant. This is because Medical staff are all wearing protective clothing to prevent virus infection, which is not easy to apply with existing research techniques. Therefore, in order to solve these problems in this paper, the ultrasonic sensor is separated from the transmitting and receiving parts, and based on this, this paper propose that estimating the user's position and can actively follow and cooperate with people. However, the ultrasonic sensors were partially applied by improving the Median filter in order to reduce the error caused by the short circuit in communication between hard reflection and the number of light reflections, and the operation technology was improved by applying the curvature trajectory for smooth operation in a small area. Median filter reduced the error of degree and distance by 70%, vehicle running stability was verified through the training course such as 'S' and '8' in the result.

Experimental Study of the Effect of Shortening of Life of Tapered Roller Bearings when Subjected to Excessive Axial Pre-Load (과다 예압을 받는 테이퍼롤러 베어링의 수명단축효과에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • Tapered roller bearings are core components of rotating machine parts and are simultaneously subjected to axial and radial loads. Life-shortening effect was particularly evident in the case of tapered roller bearings used in the input and output shafts of transmission; this shortening of life was a result of excessive axial pre-load, which is common in the transmission assembly line. In this study, we derived an equation for evaluating the life of tapered roller bearings subjected to excessive pre-load by using accelerated life test data. The DOE(Design Of Experiment) method and FEA(Finite Element Analysis) was used for determining the condition for performing an accelerated life test. This equation for evaluating the service life of the bearings was derived by analyzing the Weibull distribution of the test results. Using the derived equation the life evaluated was 6-7 times longer than that evaluated by the conventional $L_{10}$ bearing-life equation. The results of this study will be helpful in predicting the life of tapered roller bearings subjected to excessive pre-load and in designing reliable rotating machines.

Priority Analysis for Infrastructure Recovery from Volcanic Disaster (사회기반시설의 화산재해 복구 우선순위 산정)

  • Recently volcanic eruptions and activities occurring in many parts of world have become a common global concern to many countries. The severity of these Volcanic disasters, such as of Mt. Eyjafjallajokull in Iceland and Mt. Merapi in Indonesia, have caused damages and causalities reaching astronomical levels. The infrastructure is categorized into 18sections that appropriately reflecting the survey data collected from various government agents, current inhabitant and engineers to accumulate a database on the priorities and preferences of restoring and reconstructing many kinds of infrastructure and facilities. The survey data was collect by using the "Likert 5 Scale Method" which emphasized the importance and priority of reconstruction and restoration for the specific facilities and infrastructures. The data was corrugated, organized and used in plotting and planning a strategic recovery agenda. The survey results were analyzed and verified to ensure the validity and reliability of the data by using chi-square test. This paper presents that recovery period and recovery cost to the total damage of infrastructure and facilities were used to make a recovery network with implemented construction management method. The research is expected that a more efficient and prompt recovery protocol and recovery plan can be executed and can be use as a reference and database.

Exploring the organic harmony of the Modern Pentathlon of sports

  • What sports have in common is that they must use their bodies to play and lead to victory. The use of the body differs in many ways depending on the event, which part should be used as the focus. The commonality of all sports is that sports can achieve the best results by using and using parts of the body in harmony. The use of strength or muscles varies depending on the type of sport or the type of sport, so the use of the body or the results of athletic events also varies. Sports are premised on the organic use of the body, but the implications of sports can be found in that the degree of organic use does not apply equally to all sports. Sports demand organic balance and flexibility. Depending on the type of sport, you can explore which organic harmony produces more effective effects and find out which events are more beneficial to the human body. This study aimed to find out whether the organic harmony of the body actively contributes to the development of sports and a healthy mental culture. In this study, we proposed the hypothesis that the modern Pentathlon will induce the most desirable organic harmony as a global Olympic sport, and tried to verify that the hypothesis is valid and verifiable. In order to do this study, I tried to find out the organic viewpoints centered on the Miletos school, re-examine the meaning of the modern Pentathlon of games as an Olympic event, and conduct organic harmony and exploration of the modern Pentathlon of games in terms of sports.

Distracted Driver Detection and Characteristic Area Localization by Combining CAM-Based Hierarchical and Horizontal Classification Models (CAM 기반의 계층적 및 수평적 분류 모델을 결합한 운전자 부주의 검출 및 특징 영역 지역화)

  • Driver negligence accounts for the largest proportion of the causes of traffic accidents, and research to detect them is continuously being conducted. This paper proposes a method to accurately detect a distracted driver and localize the most characteristic parts of the driver. The proposed method hierarchically constructs a CNN basic model that classifies 10 classes based on CAM in order to detect driver distration and 4 subclass models for detailed classification of classes having a confusing or common feature area in this model. The classification result output from each model can be considered as a new feature indicating the degree of matching with the CNN feature maps, and the accuracy of classification is improved by horizontally combining and learning them. In addition, by combining the heat map results reflecting the classification results of the basic and detailed classification models, the characteristic areas of attention in the image are found. The proposed method obtained an accuracy of 95.14% in an experiment using the State Farm data set, which is 2.94% higher than the 92.2%, which is the highest accuracy among the results using this data set. Also, it was confirmed by the experiment that more meaningful and accurate attention areas were found than the results of the attention area found when only the basic model was used.
