In this paper we present the design of Low Noise Amplifier(LNA), mixer and filter for RF front-end part of partial discharge monitoring system. The monitoring system of partial discharge in high voltage power machinery is used to prevent many kinds of industrial accidents, and is usually composed of three parts - sensor, RF front-end and digital microcontroller unit. In our study, LNA, mixer and filter are key components of the RF front-end. The LNA consists of common gate and common source-cascaded structure and uses the resistive feedback for broad band matching. A coupled line structure is utilized to implement the filter, of which size is reduced by the meander structure. The mixer is designed using dual gate structure for high isolation between RF and local oscillator signal.

TFT-LCD simulator, PDAST(Pixel Design Array Simulation Tool) could simulate the effect of the variation on the pixel characteristics. Since feed-through voltage in TFT-LCD can be a serious problem to pixel voltage characteristics, it should be compensated. It is applicable to various kinds of TFT-LCDs and can be used to calculate the spontaneous part of common electrode voltage accurately. Also, PDAST can estimate pixel voltage according to various inversion methods. It allows high-speed calculation and the information obtained from this study could be utilized to design the larger area and finer image quality panel.
Although we have seen recently increasing number of eco-villages, any eco-village is not registered in Global Eco-village Network. It is important to review the definition of eco-villages and to provide useful basic information for future eco-villages. The main research aim is to analyze landscape characteristics of community garden and common spaces and to identify ecological symbolism of landscape created by residents in eco-villages. Seven eco-villages in Germany, Denmark and UK were selected and the following aspects were investigated through field survey; the settlement background, social and economical aspect, architectural specifications, recycled energy, and landscape characteristics of external spaces in eco-villages. The result indicated that the landscape of eco-village did intend neither to return to primitive society nor to control nature by technology. It intended to coexistence with nature. Primitive nature is symbolically restored and people who have it in mind strongly intend to grow together this common sense. Landscape creation has important role in creating common relationship between human living and nature. When we regard it conceptually as the eco-symbolism in landscape design of community garden, it presented the meaningful relationship with landscape and human life. It is not expression of landscape materiality and designed form but sense of place and landscape image. Landscape design would be expected to reveal the life stage and cycle from designed physical form and materiality through as time goes by when it is part of environmental circulation process by means of human living as meaningful relationship.
Environmental Stress Cracking(ESC) is one of the most common causes of unexpected brittle failure of thermoplastic polymers. The exposure of polymers to liquid chemicals tends to accelerate the crazing process, initiating crazes at stresses that are much lower than the stress causing crazing in air. In this study, ESC of acrylonitirile butadiene styrene(ABS) was investigated as a function of the molding conditions such as injection velocity, packing pressure, and melt temperature. A constant strain was applied to the injection molded specimens through a 1.26% strain jig and a mixture of toluene and isopropyl alcohol was used as the liquid chemical. In order to examine the effects of the molding conditions on ESC, an experimental design method was adopted and it was found that the injection velocity was the dominant factor. In addition, predictions from numerical analyses were compared with the experimental results. It was found that the residual stress in the injection molded part was associated with the environmental stress cracking resistance (ESCR).
This paper presents a novel method to design and implement mobile u-health system by defining the essential elements of mobile healthcare services. We choose common service elements for the proposed u-healthcare scheme and design the service platform. Especially we focus on automatic feces or urine sensing u-care scheme to prove the effectiveness of our platform. We construct the system with sensing part with a manikin and a diaper, wireless communication part with feces or urine sensing data, and coordinator system based on the u-health platform defined in this paper. Experimental results show that our scheme is useful in the area of u-care service for the handicapped, the elderly, and patients who can hardly move by themselves. In addition the designed scheme offers a realized u-care scheme with the purpose of advanced developing tools for application or service developers.

In this paper, an NC data optimization approach for enhancing 5-axis machining speed is presented. It is usual to use expensive commercial CAD/CAM programs for NC data of 5-axis machining, since it needs very large calculations for optimal tool positioning and orientation, tool path planning, and collision-free tool path generation. Since commercial CAD/CAM systems have similar functions and efficiency based on common algorithms of reliable theories, they do not have their own unique features for machining speed and efficiency. In other words, most commercial CAD/CAM systems consider only the characteristics of part geometry to be machined, which means that they generate almost the same NC data if the part to be machined is the same, even though different machines are used for the pin. A new approach is proposed for optimizing NC data of 5-axis machining, which is based on the characteristics of the machine to be operated. As a result, the speed of 5-axis machining can increase without losing machining accuracy and surface quality.
A spring tension control device is used as a very important part of an twister system. The friction force of tensioner must keep same friction force during winding in package. For satisfy this function, many device used common compression coil spring. In this paper, by using the case-building technique which was based on simple theory that unknown design variables are induced by given input design variables by the designer, design automation algorithm about rectangular section compression springs with elastic characteristic is developed. Four design equation are justified in using of analysis of torsion of straight bar of rectangular section and geometrical condition of coil spring. Four design equation and nine design variables are computed by case-building technique.

This paper presents a constructing theory of variable arithmetic operation systems for computing multiplications and multiplicative inverse in GF(2**m) based on a modulo operation of degree on elements in Galois fields. The proposed multiplier is composed of a zero element control part, input element conversion part, inversion circuit, and output element conversion part. These systems can reduce reasonable circuit areas due to the common use of input/output element converison parts, and the PLA and module structure provice a variable property capable of convertible uses as arithmetic operation systems over different finite fields. This type of designs gives simple, regular, expandable, and concurrent properties suitable for VLSI implementation. Expecially, the multiplicative inverse circuit proposed here is expected to offer a characteristics of the high operation speed than conventional method.
This thesis attempts to contribute to analyze the methods of pattern grading which is in common fashion in America and Japan and to make the foundation for the basic technique of pattern grading fitting to Korean body shape. There are two types in pattern grading. The results are as follows: 1) The pattern grading according to body shape contains A, B, C, D, F, and G. A is suitable for the bulging part of a body and F is the most suitable for the general part of a body. 2) The pattern grading not depending on body shape has no relation to the quantity of grading in the size of a body but includes silhouettes or design details. The standards of its methods are as follows: a) by the part of body b) by the balance of whole pattern c) by adjusting to the mutual balance of besign details.

In an automotive plant, an automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) synchronizes material handling flows from a part production line to an auto-assembly line. The part production line transfers parts on small-/large-sized pallets. The products on pallets are temporarily stored on the ASRS, and the ASRS retrieves the products upon request from the auto-assembly line. Each ASRS aisle is equipped with narrow-/wide-width racks for two pallet sizes. An ASRS aisle with narrow-/wide-width racks improves both storage space utilization and crane utilization while requiring delicate ASRS aisle design, i.e., the locations of the narrow-/wide-width racks in an ASRS aisle, and proper operation policies affect the ASRS performance over demand fluctuations. We focus on operation policies involving a common storage zone using wide-width racks for two pallet sizes and a storage-retrieval job-change for a crane based on assembly-line batch size. We model a discrete-event simulation model and conduct extensive experiments to evaluate operation policies. The simulation results address the best ASRS aisle design and suggest the most effective operation policies for the aisle design.
